Built in the early 1900s and previously a family home, Good Manors Day Nursery Stubbington Lodge has been refurbished to create a modern, natural, light and spacious nursery.

Inside, each room has been carefully planned to provide an engaging environment for children to flourish. Learning starts with the development of sensory skills, progressing through a variety of age-appropriate activities to extend all areas of learning. The older children are encouraged to develop their personalities and improve their independence skills; through self-serving at mealtimes and choosing their own learning.

The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

The children enjoy the outdoor space all year round. This space includes a sand pit, mud kitchen, water tray and climbing wall.                

Stubbington Lodge is situated near shops, libraries and parks, providing the children the opportunity to visit and learn about the local community.

My son recently started the nursery at the beginning of October. I can honestly say I cannot fault the nursery at all so far. They made me feel so at ease as I was so nervous when he first started when doing settling-in sessions and made myself and my son feel extremely welcome. Love the app they use
to keep you up to date with your child's day and the pictures too. The staff always appear happy and smiley face. The nursery is very clean and the food looks delicious. My son loves it there. Thank you Good Manors, you're doing an amazing job!

We think Stubbington Lodge nursery is wonderful! Our little girl (21 months) absolutely loves going in and has built really positive relationships with the staff and other children. We love receiving the updates so we can see what she has bee up to. We couldn't have picked a better nursery if we tried!

From the first day our son attended nursery, both him and us were made to feel so welcome and reassured he was in excellent care. The team are amazing and are always so willing to discuss any questions we have. They are so caring towards our son and I always recommend the nursery to anyone looking.

My 1 year old has been attending Good Manors Stubbington Lodge for almost 3 months. He absolutely loves his time spent in the baby room and all of the staff are wonderful. This includes the management as well as the hands-on staff in his baby room and key worker. There are a variety of daily activities
provided and the food menu looks far better than most hotels I’ve stayed at! Very nutritious, varied and tasty. The staff are very encouraging with developing my child’s skills which really helps in his development and learning. We receive a daily diary detailing meals, milk, naps and activities for the day including lots of photographs so we can see what our little one has been up to! Communication is spot on and the staff are always willing to help and adjust routines as required. I’d definitely recommend this nursery to friends and family, and it puts me at ease when I am at work knowing that they take excellent care of my child and always have a smile with it! Thanks, guys!

We have been very happy with Good Manors nursery. Our daughter was always made to feel welcome, even when she found it hard to leave me in the first few months. All the staff and older children knew her by name and would always say hello to her. She now loves going in and playing with her friends. The
staff are amazing and always helpful. I love all the updates I receive about what they have been up to for the day and my daughter is always bringing artwork home. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

My son started attending nursery mid August when I returned to work. In a time (Covid) when being able to settle your child in and they attend nursery has its own difficulties, I found the setting and staff to be highly professional and supportive. He has settled into the baby room really well and happily
goes off to play. Both staff in the room where he attends are caring and passionate about their jobs. They have really gotten to know my son and this is clear to see when they are setting up activities and next steps for him to aid his development. The app which the setting uses to report back on your child’s day is a great addition and the girls fill it with pictures throughout the day. They regularly put in observations and I am also able to input home observations, which I feel helps with a parent/setting relationship. Being in the nursery has developed my son's confidence and knowing he is happy and enjoying nursery makes leaving him much easier.

The girls are always so lovely in this nursery. My daughter is always happy coming out which makes me feel relaxed about her going while I work. All in all a lovely nursery. I love the fact they show you their day on the app, it's very helpful and they also sometimes update this through the day so that
I can see what she is up to which is lovely! They stick to your guidelines and always try to do as you ask with naps etc. She especially loves one member of staff in particular. In the mornings I will say to my daughter you are going to play with her all day and she says yes and gets excited which is very reassuring and lovely to hear.

As the mother of a child with special educational needs, I was extremely anxious about finding the right nursery for my son. I absolutely made the right choice with Good Manors. They have been exceptional in regards to providing my son with a supportive and caring environment whilst also helping me
to navigate through all of the paperwork that needs to be completed during his time at nursery and in preparation for starting school.
The site manager and SENCO work amazingly well together and are wonderfully prompt when answering any queries or concerns.
My son has faced some struggles during his time at nursery due to his additional needs, but with the support of all of the staff he is now thoroughly enjoying his days at nursery and I know that we will both be very sad when the time comes to start school in September 2021.

We can’t praise this nursery enough - our daughter absolutely loves it (and all of the staff!). All staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and easy to talk to - nothing is too much trouble! The nursery has a really welcoming, relaxed and fun feel. Our daughter settled so quickly and we feel this is
thanks to the staff for being so kind, attentive and caring! Communication is also fantastic (particularly during the uncertain, every changing times this year). Daily activities are varied and include arts/crafts, garden time, free play, sensory, singing/dancing and story time! Detailed daily diaries are available at the end of each day via a mobile app (including photos) - we find this hugely beneficial and it’s great to see how much fun our daughter has at Good Manors!

My eldest absolutely loved going to Good Manors and from our first settling in session the staff have always been happy, welcoming and genuinely care for her. Due to the excellent experience my eldest had there was no doubt that my second would also attend and she has no hesitation in waving me goodbye
at the door which shows me that she is happy there and has fun. The staff are so engaged with the children and encourage them to explore and develop.

My two-year-old son has attended Stubbington Lodge for the past 18 months and I couldn't be happier with the care he receives. The staff are all lovely and welcoming, and always make time for you. The nursery works with you and your home routine and provides freshly cooked meals daily. My son loves
his time at nursery and gets to do all his favourite activities. They also provide a daily diary and 'Golden Moment' updates via the Blossom app. I highly recommend this nursery.

Our son has been attending Good Manors since he was 11 months and is now 2 and 4 months. He settled in perfectly in the baby room for the first year and loves it in the tweenie room now that he is 2. The nursery has a lovely balance between developing his independence and nurturing him. He has a food
allergy and they cater to him especially each day. The staff are all amazing, very friendly ad really put effort into know the children and parents as individuals. I would (and have) recommend Good Manors to anybody looking for childcare in Portsmouth.

The nursery has been a safe haven for children, despite difficulties caused by COVID-19, the nursery staff remained professional, friendly, welcoming and focused on delivering fantastic care. my daughter loves attending the place and is excited about daily activities, food and friends that she meets
every day. There is always a welcoming face at drop-offs and pickups. There is no problem with retrieving information about what’s been happening in groups, I’ve always been very well informed about incidents, achievements, problems, the time my daughter has in general. I’m extremely happy with my choice and would recommend the nursery to anyone considering childcare for their children.

Both my sons have attended Good Manors at Stubbington Avenue and they have loved every minute. My youngest son is still there and thriving, he enjoys all the fun activity's and has become very forward in his development starting. He also suffers with some food intolerance issues to which the staff have
been really great and accommodating, he always enjoys his meals at "playgroup" and often goes back for seconds. There has been lots of changes to our lives this year with covid-19 but the nursery has always been super consistent and clued up health and safety-wise, even during lockdown they sent videos of their teachers reading some of their favourite books and spoke to us all on the phone to keep the normality going. I really can't thank the girls there enough for taking such good care of my boys and would recommend this nursery to anyone.

Hi! Claire and I are the Nursery Managers here at Good Manors Day Nursery Queenswood Lodge. I am also qualified for Level 3.


I have been working in nurseries ever since I left college and still absolutely love my job and being in a nursery environment. No two days are ever the same, where else can you go to work and be greeted with lots of lovely cuddles? Here at Stubbington Lodge, we are enthusiastic about providing exciting activities that engage the children’s interests and spark their curiosity, and pride ourselves on having great relationships with the families
