Qualification: MA Personnel & Development, BA (Hons) Business Studies, NVQ Level 3 Diploma.

Lucy is the daughter of the original founders of Rainbow Corner Nursery School - Jacqui and Geoff Scott. Lucy acquired the family business in April 2013, although the nursery school has always been a big part of her life.

Before this, Lucy completed a four-year Business Studies degree at the University of Portsmouth, specialising in Human Resources.

Once graduated, Lucy worked as an HR Consultant for both the BBC and Orange Business Services in London, during which time she gained a Master's in Personnel and Development at the University of Westminster and became a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). In 2010 Lucy had her son, Elliot. Being a parent herself and understanding the importance of good quality childcare, she naturally became more involved in the family business. She has since completed her NVQ Level 3 Diploma for the children and young people's workforce.

Kirsty has a vast amount of experience gained over the past 7 years since achieving her Level 2 Diploma at college. She then went on to complete her Level 3 Diploma as an apprentice in a nursery and worked her way up from Nursery Practitioner to Room Leader. Kirsty briefly left childcare for social care, however, she really missed the early year's sector so is pleased to be back doing what she loves. Kirsty joined Rainbow Corner in July 2022 and has worked her way up to Nursery Manager in January 2024.

Qualification: NVQ Level 4, NNEB, NVQ Assessor and NVQ Verifier

Clare worked for two families as a nanny before joining Rainbow Corner. Since joining the nursery, Clare has continued with her studies gaining an NVQ Assessor and Verifiers award and an NVQ level 4 in Childcare and Management.

Sally has worked at Rainbow Corner since 2012 and is a NVQ Level 3 qualified practitioner. Sally has worked her way up from Nursery Practitioner to Room Leader. Being a long-standing member or our team, Sally takes great pride in encouraging and challenging the children's learning and development including their physical abilities. Sally also leads the children's Makaton activities

Sarah worked as a Nursery Practitioner for 5 years before moving overseas where she worked as a childminder and also a Nursery Practitioner abroad, taking on additional roles such as Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO). Since returning to Portsmouth Sarah has worked for us, as a Nursery Practitioner and then in 2022 promoted to Room Leader.

Sarah also has two children. She takes pride in providing best practices, as well as making sure everything we do is child-centred. She is also a huge advocate of the ‘curiosity approach’ using natural resources in everyday practice.

Morgan joined us as an apprentice in June 2021, and she has followed her aspiration to become a fully qualified Level 3 practitioner. Morgan has worked her way from Nursery Practitioner to Room Leader. Morgan is very imaginative and enjoys creating activities for the children becoming an important member of our team. Morgan has also undertaken an additional role as a Mental Health Ambassador.

Grace joined Rainbow Corner in 2019 and gained her NVQ level 3 in childcare a year later. Grace has worked her way up from Nursery Practitioner to Deputy Room Leader in March 2022. Grace has also become the nurseries deputy SENCO and Mental Health First Aider. Grace is very passionate about empowering children's confidence and independence, getting outside at every opportunity and encouraging positive relationships.

Since returning to Portsmouth Sarah has worked at Rainbow Corner as Nursery Practitioner until 2022 where she was promoted to Deputy Room Leader. Sarah takes pride in providing best proactive, as well as making sure everything we do is child centred. She is also a huge advocate of the 'curiosity approach' using natural resources in every day practice.

Olivia joined us as a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner in 2023 and has worked her way up to Deputy Room Leader. Olivia originally gained her qualification back in 2011 but embarked on a different adventure into nursing for a while before returning to the sector in 2018. Olivia has worked in 2 nurseries as well as being a private Nanny and Au Pair in the UK and abroad. Olivia enjoys supporting children in achieving their targets.

Shelley joined us in 2023 after working in a pack-away nursery for 7 years. Shelley completed her NVQ Level 3 at the beginning of last year ensuring she was fully qualified to practitioner level. Shelley has worked her way up to Deputy Room Leader. Shelley loves building new relationships with children and their families and ensuring we work together in supporting children's development.

Emily joined Rainbow Corner in May 2022. Emily joined us as an apprentice but has recently completed her level 3 qualification in childcare. Emily loves creating fun and engaging environments for the children to explore and watching them grow and learn.

Evie has been with us since September 2022, she has recently completed her level 2 qualification and working towards her level 3 qualification. Evie loves getting the children moving through dancing and creating obstacle courses. Evie also loves the children getting crafty and creating masterpieces.

Helena joined Rainbow Corner in February as a level 3 practitioner. Helena gained her qualification back in 2019 through an apprenticeship. Helena then went on to do adult care before returning back into childcare. Helena enjoys watching the children achieve their individual milestones and next steps.

Anisa joined Rainbow Corner in September 2024 and she holds a level 6 in childcare after completing this is university. Anisa enjoys role play experiences and watching the children's personalities flourish.

Jess started at Rainbow Corner in September 2024. Jess has been working in childcare for over 10 years and holds a level 3 qualification in childcare. Jess also has her level 2 SENCO accreditation. Jess enjoys sensory play and singing nursery rhymes to the children.

Holly is our 1:1 Support, Holly joined Rainbow Corner in January 2024. Holly enjoys bringing stories to life and the children exploring with water and messy play. Holly is great at adapting to each child she is supporting and creating learning opportunities dependent on their needs.

Carla joined us in 2002 as a Nursery Practitioner. She has since had 2 children of her own and now works part-time as our Nursery Lunch Assistant. Carla has a wealth of experience with all age groups and has watched the nursery grow and develop over the years.
