Kingsmead Day Nursery in Chandler’s Ford is a small, friendly, independent nursery situated away from a busy road. Parking is convenient and there is quick access to the M3.

The nursery stands in a large, secluded woodland garden with different play areas for the children to enjoy, including covered areas for rainy days.

Kingsmead caters for children from three months to five years of age. The three units are divided according to age and are fully equipped. As the nursery exclusively offers forty-two places, full time and part time, carers feel they can offer a comforting family environment for your child.

Many of the staff have been with the nursery a long time and are of mixed ages. The nursery also has a cook who creates home cooked meals throughout the day.

Our little one has been at Kingsmead since he was 9 months old and we cannot fault the care he has received in that time.
When we initially looked at childcare, I wanted a childminder. However, the new manager who showed us around completely changed my mind. The professionalism, care and family feel
really sold it to me. The best decision we made!
From the manager to the cook, to the duckling room staff and every other member of staff we have met, they are really caring, friendly and our little one adores them all.
The nursery has allowed our little one to develop from someone who was scared of loud noises and not used to being away from his parents to a confident, cheeky chap who loves the staff. Whenever we talk about the duckling room staff at home, the look of excitement and happiness on our little ones face shows how much love he has for them.
The gardens/play areas are a fantastic space which our little one enjoys and offers a wide range of activities indoors and outdoors.

Kingsmead is a wonderfully warm, nurturing environment with staff who really care and take time to get to know each child individually.
Kingsmead has beautiful grounds and the children love playing in amongst all the trees and discovering nature.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kingsmead to anyone.

We absolutely love Kingsmead!


The staff, setting and activities are all fantastic. Our eldest (who is almost 4) has been at Kingsmead since she was 18 months and looks forward to going every time :) She feels very safe there and loves re-enacting games and experiences had there over the last week

- often getting into the role as one of the fabulous staff who look after her! I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and how they go above and beyond to make sure they get to know the children and what goes on in their life outside of nursery.


The garden is beautiful and my daughter loves that it feels like they're going into the woods to explore and play as it's surrounded by trees. The activities on offer are excellent and I am amazed at the things my daughter can talk about or do that I know I haven't yet taught her.


My son is due to start next month and I am confident that they will make him feel as settled and cared for as my daughter does and that they will help him to flourish too.

My little boy has been attending the nursery for over 2 years now. He started there at 7 months and since then he has been cared and encouraged all throughout.
The nursery has a very low turnaround, and he still sees and plays the ladies who took care of him at the baby room. They grow vegetables,
have a mud kitchen, a "garage" full of ride-on cars and a construction site.
They spend a lot of the time outside with plenty of picnics (which my boy LOVES!), and when it's sunny, they stay in the large "woodland" area which is shady and cool. They get something taken to feed the duck close-by, and the kids feel like it was a great adventure!
The staff is loving, friendly and approachable, and they put a lot of love and enthusiasm in what the do. They organise a summer BBQ for parents and kids and a Christmas concert, both very fun and lovely, and you can tell they put on a lot of work to make these happen.
I could not wish for a better place to leave my boy.

My daughter has been attending Kingsmead since October 2016. The staff have helped settle her into nursery very well as she is a clingy child. The staff are very approachable and friendly with good communication skills. Kingsmead offers a wide range of resources for indoor and outdoor play. I am very
happy with the care given and so is my daughter.

This nursery provides excellent care in a wonderfully re-assuring and intimate 'home-from-home' setting. We can only describe this nursery as a very positive environment for small pre-school children to spend their time and develop. Communication between nursery staff and parents is great, and we have
never had cause to escalate anything beyond the key worker, as anything that requires action is immediately dealt with.

Our daughter has been attending Kingsmead for 14 months. Since her first day she has been made to feel so happy and safe, offered comfort when needed and has been very well looked after all round. Staff are always friendly and supportive and I'm 100% confident in their safety measures. Overall I would
recommend Kingsmead to anyone locally looking for childcare for their children. Our daughter feels nursery is an extension of her family. :)

A wonderful, caring environment with friendly staff who work hard to make the children happy. There is a low turnaround of staff, so the children really know their key person. My 1 year old is being looked after by the same ladies who cared for my 6 year old!

We are very pleased with Kingsmead Day Nursery. Our son enjoys going, has made lots of friends and often refers to the staff fondly. We like the mix of ages and experience of the staff who are caring and approachable. Our older son also went to Kingsmead Day Nursery and also enjoyed his time there.
He loves the outdoor wooded area and space in particular.

I am absolutely delighted with this small, friendly nursery. The staff are excellent, proactive, enthusiastic, engaging and supportive. The management are extremely efficient, knowledgeable and excellent communicators. I am very pleased with the range and level of activities organised, baking, painting.
singing etc. There are 2 superb events organised each year where children and parents play an active role, baking, cooking or making costumes. Children play outdoors every day (unless terrible weather) and there are great toys and activities from cars to a mud kitchen to a fairy garden.

Entering our 5th year of using Kingsmead, our children love it. They have gone through a year of changes in staff but it has had no effect on the day to day running or care of the children. The garden and outdoor area must be the envy of other nurseries. A recent introduction of "Golden Tickets" has
been very positive, teaching the children about rules and encouraging positive behaviour. Old and new staff appear to build strong bonds with the children and are very supportive of their additional needs. I will be upset when we leave next August, I feel Kingsmead has been a major part of our children's younger years and it will be sad not to be part of the nursery community anymore.

Kingsmead has always been great ever since my son joined in 2014, they take the time to get to know him and us easily adapting to him growing up and liking different things. They are so helpful with potty training and took the worry away about sending him to nursery without nappies. All the staff are
friendly, polite and always happy to help.
