Busy Bees Chafford Hundred Station Side has been open for 18 years.

Rated 'Good' by Ofsted (March 2017), the nursery has their families at the heart at everything they do and work together to give the children the best start in life.

The keyworker system throughout the nursery ensures the children and parents get to know the person caring for their child and build a great bond with them.

A full-time chef cooks all meals from scratch, they cater for all allergies.

In-house training ensures all staff have up-to-date knowledge of all changes within the childcare sector.

Staff and families have access to the nursery's UP app which supports children's development. Please ask about this when you look around.

All rooms open out onto fabulous gardens, so that the children are able to free-flow throughout the day.

The setting is a five minute walk from Chafford 100 station, on the mainline to Fenchurch Street - with free car parking. They are located near Lakeside shopping centre/outlet centre.

Give the Nursery a call or book your visit online. They are looking forward to seeing you.

I spent a lot of time trying to find the right nursery for my son as I was anxious about the change and what this would mean to him. Busy Bees - Howard Road was recommended to me by a friend, I was invited in for an intro session and knew I had found the right place. It is a safe welcoming environment,
the team are fantastic. My son was given various opportunities to learn, all of which he loved. So much effort goes into special occasions such as Mothers Day, Easter etc where he would have proudly made something for me or his dad. He made lots of friends and he relished in the care and attention of the "ladies" as they took the time to know HIM. I knew what he had done each day. He ate well and was encouraged with specific things when I asked for assistance, so it felt like a very personal service - despite the room being full. His transition to school was so smooth as he was prepared for it so well - he is well balanced and confidently able to assert himself in any group he finds himself.

My daughter was at the nursery from 6 months until recently when she left for school. The staff have made us comfortable from day one and are like a second family. They have made leaving her in their care much easier than I thought it was going to be.
I would thoroughly recommend the nursery. I have
been so pleased with their care that my 9-month-old son has now started with them and my daughter can't wait to see all the staff when we drop him off.

My daughter started to attend nursery at 8 months when her mum returned to work, throughout her attending the nursery all the staff and management have supported her within her development and also been on hand to support us her parents throughout her 4 years at the nursery. My child made lots of friends
at nursery and loved going into the nursery every day and enjoyed spending time with staff who she became close to. My daughter is now in the next chapter of her life at big girl school and we still go and visit her old nursery staff and the management. Thank you to all the staff at Busy Bees Grays for everything you have helped her achieve and supporting her in her development. Food standards are amazing introducing the children to a variety of textures and flavours. My daughter's mum and I highly recommend the nursery. Thank you to all staff and especially

In the short amount of time our son has been attending, we have watched him grow from strength to strength with full of confidence and love towards his new found friends and staff! It's the best decision we made having him transferred from one nursery to Busy Bees. He mostly enjoys the garden activities
and his classroom is full of educational entertainment.
His teachers are great, they're so attentive and caring towards him and the other children. We've always said, that children have a great instinct and intuition towards adults, and it is great having him talk about his teachers at home.
We would and already have recommended this nursery to friends and family!

What a great Nursery and the perfect place to start your child's life in education off.

I am a father to a 9-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son. Our daughter attended this nursery when it was known as 'Just Learning' and our son joined in the transition period to Busy Bees. I am therefore in

a fortunate position, in that I write this review being able to compare the two companies.

I know this is a great nursery, the proof is in the pudding as it were, our daughter has turned out to be a good all-rounder and this shows she was given the right start in life.

As with most things, there is always room for improvement, which included signage so you know where the place is and a lick of paint, but this is just cosmetic.

The main things are, it has a great team who love their jobs, good facilities and it is very close to the train station.

Would I recommend this nursery to others, well the answer would be a resounding 'Yes'

Current Review Score: 7.8 (7.799)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.8 (7.799) out of 10 for Busy Bees Chafford Hundred Station Side (Howard Road) is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.565 for Busy Bees Chafford Hundred Station Side (Howard Road) is calculated as follows: ( (17 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 23 Ratings = 4.565
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.234 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Chafford Hundred Station Side (Howard Road) is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 92 number of registered child places is 18.4. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 18.4 = 0.109
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
