Queens Nursery and Pre School is an Ofsted Outstanding (February 2025) nursery in the heart of the Buckhurst Hill community. It is located on Buckhurst Hill High Street and Princes Road, just a five-minute walk from the Central Line Tube Station.

The nursery offers age-appropriate rooms and a large and small garden for children to explore. Each room is resourced with natural age-specific equipment to meet the children's developmental needs. The nursery follows the EYFS curriculum for the children to meet early learning goals before the transition to school.

Queens Nursery has excellent links with the local schools in the area. The teachers come in for stay and play sessions and take part in visits to schools for the children to ease their transition.

The nursery is also in the heart of the community and takes part in regular outings in the local area to local shops, restaurants, florist, doctors surgery, train station, pharmacy and dental surgery. Weekly forest school session is also undertaken by the forest trained team members.

There are daily extra-curricular activities for children to enjoy hosted by specialist teachers:

Friday - A Little Bit Dramatic- Drama

The nursery also welcomes regular visitors such as animal experiences, people that help the community such as fire fighters and guide dogs as well as parent partners who share with the children.

The online Famly learning app allows parents to track children's nursery life and development from the app and communicate directly with team members as well as uploading observations and photos from home.

Parents are actively involved in the nursery through constant communication and regular parent events.

I can't recommend Queen's Nursery enough! The staff are incredibly warm, welcoming and dedicated, providing exceptional care for the children. Our child has thrived since joining the nursery and learning new skills every day. We feel very lucky to have found such a wonderful nursery and can't thank

Couldn't be happier with Queens Nursery. I have had 2 children attending since July 2023. Both my kids have loved everything about it from the amazing activities and amazing staff. My youngest who is currently 2 absolutely loves coming and has an amazing relationship with all staff in his room. He comes
out smiling at every pick up and loves telling me all about his day. My son leaves end of next month and I know we are both going to be sad to say goodbye.

We couldn't be happier with the care and support our child has received at Queen's Nursery over the past year. From day one, the team have taken the time to truly understand his individual needs. They gently encourage him to take part in group activities but always respect his boundaries, offering alternative
activities that match his interests and hobbies.
The staff know him so well - they're attuned to his emotional cues and have been incredibly dedicated in supporting his speech and communication. The progress he has made is amazing; he's grown in confidence, language, and social skills.
The variety of food is another bonus. The nursery introduces him to a wide range of cuisines from around the world, which he really enjoys.
We also love the emphasis on exploring the local community with regular outdoor trips, and the updates we receive are always so engaging.
We feel very lucky to have found a place where our child is not only cared for but truly seen and supported.

I've sent both my children to Queen's Nursery because it is truly outstanding and I would never have sent them anywhere elsewhere. The staff are incredibly friendly and create a warm, welcoming environment that makes it easier to leave your child in their care, which, as any parent knows, is never easy.
It's clear how well they know my children from the thoughtful reports they provide, often including the smallest details that reflect their individual personalities.


When my son was going through his EHCP assessment, the team went above and beyond. They took the lead and supported us every step of the way, at a time when I had no idea what to do or expect. I trust them implicitly.


They're always accommodating - whether it's applying eczema cream or offering support with potty training, nothing is ever too much trouble. It's obvious that everyone at Queen's truly loves what they do, and that makes all the difference.

Queens Nursery has been a truly wonderful experience for our family and an incredible second home for our daughter. The level of care and attention they provide, especially in managing her multiple food allergies, has given us complete peace of mind. Every detail, from meal planning to daily routines,

I love this nursery. My oldest child has recently left for school and has been so happy, confident and well-prepared during the years at Queens. My youngest is still at the nursery site and will move to preschool early next year. Without exception, the staff have been wonderful, caring, engaging and
fun. There are lots of great activities and trips. The little ones are nurtured and supported to settle. The older ones are well prepared for school. Nursey's comms and updates are great. I wouldn't send my children anywhere else.

Our son has been attending Queens Nursery for almost a year. He really enjoys his time here and is always happy to be dropped off and comes out with a smile on his face when we collect him. The staff are brilliant and in particular his keyworker has been outstanding, going above and beyond to ensure
his needs are met and communicates well with us. The other team members in his room are equally fantastic and he often speaks of them fondly when he is at home. The activities both at the nursery and outings to the forest, local community etc. Are always well thought out and inclusive. We enjoy coming along to the nursery when they have activities to which parents are invited. It’s lovely to see the nursery set up and to see how your child interacts amongst their peers and the staff. Our son has multiple severe food allergies so the care he receives is of utmost importance to us. The nursery has taken part in specialist allergy training and has good allergy policies in place.

My son has been attending this nursery 2 times a week for almost a year now despite having an alternative free full-time childcare option to me and it was the best decision we ever made.
They are a well run nursery with brilliant staff and I am so impressed by the activities they have going on for
the children to aid their early years development. For instance, this week they brought in animals from a local farm for the children to interact with and feed. My son loved it.
Now that they have the new Pre-School on Princes Road, they have additional outdoor space for the children to enjoy which was my only concern when I viewed the nursery (however I do understand this is a limitation of the area and the location is key for us).
Highly recommend - the care is exceptional, my son has settled in so well and enjoys everyday he attends.

Our son has been attending Queen's Nursery for nearly two years since he was 11 months old - starting at the baby nursery. He absolutely loves it and we couldn't be happier! He gets to experience a wide range of activities, from weekly yoga and phonics to excursions to the forest and into the local
community. The staff are truly excellent - professional, highly skilled, dedicated and caring - our son adores them. He runs in every morning, excited for what the day will bring.
We are very pleased with the communication we receive from the staff; activities, progress, food, naps etc. Are all documented on the app and we get an in-person run-down of the day too from key workers at pickup time.
We are extremely happy with Queens Nursery and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it - Thank you to the staff and management for giving our son such a wonderful experience.

My daughter absolutely loves coming to nursery and has been thriving since starting at the beginning of the year. She even talks about her teachers at home.
The nursery offer lots of extra activities, she has specialist sessions every day and has lots of opportunities for going on adventures outside
the nursery.
The staff team are always so friendly, approachable and professional and listen to anything I have to say.
I couldn’t rate it any higher!

My son attends Queens Nursery full time and I cannot fault his care in any way. He takes part in weekly French lessons and now uses some French in his vocabulary. There are multiple parent events monthly, which are well-planned and allow families to mix and build relationships. The manager is always
at the end of the phone and email with help with anything. One of the room leaders is exceptional and my son adores her.

The staff at Queens Nursery are truly fantastic! The activities and general level of engagement are of a very high standard with considered and thoughtful themes and coordination always applied. They are a positive, energetic and wonderful influence on our two children who attends and we are so pleased
with our decision to send them here. Good behaviours are instilled across all ages and classes and the practical side of nursery life (meal times, naps, potty training etc) are all exceptional. Our twins have been attending Queen's Nursery for nearly a year now, since transitioning from baby nursery and they love it! All the staff are very caring and friendly, and our girls talk about their keyworkers all the time at home. Our girls have come on so well. Having spent a lot of time in lockdowns,
they had been quite shy, but the staff have been brilliant at helping them to settle in and build their confidence. There's always something exciting going on, whether it be specialist classes, trips out or loads of fun activities. We love to receive the app notifications that show us what they've been up to! The nursery has caring, dedicated staff who provide excellent care to the children and our son quickly became very attached to his key worker. The garden/outside space is a little limited but this is made up for by the regular trips out to the forest and into the local community. The nursery provides
a good array of special outside visitors/classes. There is an excellent onsite chef and the main food provided is varied and nutritious, with a menu that changes every 6 months or so. All in all, we have been very happy with Queens Nursery and highly recommend them.

Absolutely outstanding nursery and preschool - our little one started in baby nursery and has progressed to pre-school. There is so much care and attention and each child is focused on and each key worker we've had has been so attentive and personalised their approach to our little one. They go over
and above in terms of activities - e.g. forest walks and activities, clay workshops, cooking and baking and involvement and outings in the local community, as well as specialised classes and teachers for yoga, French, ballet and music - and they also do monthly home activity packs. They're very communicative in person and via the app. Highly recommend - they really do stand out in comparison to other nurseries and preschools - staff and management are lovely and supportive and really care about what they do.

Our son has been attending Queens Nursery since he was a year old, he was in the baby one room before. He absolutely loves it and runs in everyday. Great nursery, our son has been there for nearly 6 months now, we've been very impressed. Staff are attentive and caring, they organise many activities and outside trips, and look after each child's individual needs (for example potty training). Get daily updates on the app including photos and videos
of what your child has been doing. Very happy with the choice of nursery we made for our son. We will be sending our younger son there too, can't think of a better endorsement than that.

My son has been going to Queens since he was a year old, first to the baby nursery and now to the pre-school nursery. He has always been very happy to go to Queens and the various activities organised by the nursery have aided his physical, social and emotional development. The staff are very attentive
to the needs of the children and any issues or problems related to the child are addressed promptly. The staff are also very prompt in recording the daily log, observations and accidents in the app, and regular feedback is provided by the staff to the parent on the development of the child. Overall, I'm very happy with the nursery and would highly recommend it to everyone.

Both my sons (one now aged 6 and the other nearly aged 4), have attended Queens Nursery and we've been very pleased with the care they have received over the years. Queens Nursery have always gone above and beyond in organising trips to the forest and within the local area, sending home activities to
do and books to read. I love that over the years they have daily specialist teachers in music, yoga, baby ballet, phonics etc. attending the nursery. Every day the activities are really well planned and well thought through, with a view to developing the children through play. I have always felt like I've been kept well informed about what is happening at nursery and the teachers are also very nurturing.
