Busy Bees Colchester Stanway has been purpose-built to achieve quality childcare standards, inviting parents with children from six weeks old until the transition into junior school. Well-resourced facilities are enhanced by the benefits of a large outdoor play area, while parents enjoy a private car park for convenient drop-offs and collections.

Throughout the nursery, each age group benefits from dedicated spaces, both indoors and outside, making it possible for each child to develop at a pace they are comfortable with alongside those at a similar stage. The nursery also boasts a separate dining area, where all children can enjoy a variety of meals and snacks prepared by the on-site chef.

The team at Busy Bees work hard to ensure parents are involved with their child's time at the nursery. The Parent Room and the ‘ParentZone’ app makes it possible for you to communicate with the nursery team, follow your child's development and discuss any concerns whilst also making sure you never miss out on any key milestones.

I have been very pleased with how much care the staff take over my daughter. She is always happy to attend nursery and we enjoy seeing photos of what she's been doing via the app that's very regularly updated. The staff are all friendly and all nice people who I trust. The management of the nursery
is particularly strong and the whole nursery is professionally run. My daughter enjoys the food which is prepared on site.

During the summer, I wish windows and doors could be open to give airflow through the rooms. Very hot and stuffy this time of year. One suggestion for the play area would be to install a large sail canopy for the outside space which would be good for outdoor learning and shade. In winter months outside
space is dry.

Our son has been attending Busy Bees since September 2015. He has special needs (ASD) and is pre-verbal. We have seen amazing progress since his attendance here began. He absolutely loves the place and misses it badly during half-terms and holidays! The girls are truly amazing. Each and every one of
them shows 100% dedication to the children and a very high level of professionalism is demonstrated each and every day. They are all so friendly, down to earth and genuine. They give us that absolute peace of mind and we could never be thankful enough for that.

My child has been at Busy Bees at Colchester Stanway for 18mths now, starting at 1 day a week and moving up to 3 days a week. I have been very pleased with the standard of care he receives here. Everyone makes an effort to know all the children and their parents and it has a very friendly family feel.
The variation of activities is fantastic and so many things have been learned through play such as the alphabet, counting & colours. The staff always make time to tell you how the day has gone and we like the additional information published on the Parentzone site.

I love the open and transparency of this nursery and how 'caring' and 'nurturing' the staff are. I visited other nurseries before choosing Busy Bees at Colchester Stanway and it felt right the moment we walked through the door! I was able to spend time with the group during a nursery taster session
and later on saw that how the staff were with me in the room was exactly how they were when I wasn't! The 'front line' staff are bloody brilliant!!!! I cannot speak more highly of the care and support they give my son and ALL the children there. My son struggles with change and transitions to the higher groups.... again here they were very supportive and worked on making him feel empowered to make the changes when he was ready, massive steps with patience! Working in the care industry myself, I am particularly critical of practices and procedures but can honestly say if it's a dedicated and nurturing support team you want around your child then this nursery is the one stop shop!

Job Title: Centre Director

Hello, I am Gina Kettle the Centre Director of Busy Bees in Colchester Stanway.


I qualified with an NNEB Diploma in Nursery Nursing in 1996, since then I have continually worked in day nurseries with all ages of children from 0-8 years. I obtained my Foundation Degree in Early Years in 2014. I am passionate about working with children and enjoy creating positive and safe environments where the children and staff can flourish.
