A purpose built high-quality day nursery, friendly and well-established, Woodlands provides a happy, sociable environment where every child is treated as an individual.

The nursery has 4 main playrooms for each age group. Outside is a large, fully enclosed and well-equipped garden.

There is plenty of safe parking and easy access to ensure you have no problems delivering and collecting your child from the nursery. In addition to daily routines, Woodlands offers extra activities that include Tiny Mites Yoga every Monday from 2:15-3:15pm in the Bumblebee and Preschool rooms. They have a Childbase Specialised Woodland Play area which brings the classroom outside into the natural world with sessions led by a qualified Forest School Leader.

Our child is happy here and is excited to go to nursery. That's probably the best indication. Great staff always smiling. In terms of improvement, more flexibility needed for "swap days".

My son loves coming to Woodlands Day Nursery. All the staff are fantastic with him. He has developed so much since being here and that is down to the attention and care the staff give to all the children here.

The staff are amazing. When I speak to friends about Woodlands the most common phrase I use is 'if I couldn't have got my daughter into Woodland Day Nursery I wouldn't have sent her anywhere else and returned to work'. I feel totally comfortable leaving my daughter in the care of the girls and know
that they look after her just as well as I do. As a returning parent, I think the forest area is such a great addition to the facilities and is such a useful learning tool for children of nursery age.

We are very happy with the care the nursery is providing for our son. All of the staff have proved to be extremely welcoming to us as parents and have ensured that we are fully informed of everything that is done as part of our sons day to day care. All staff have shown a huge commitment to his wellbeing
and have been incredibly accommodating with all questions and requests. Feedback has gone both ways on a daily basis, which has greatly helped our confidence levels. I would have no hesitation in recommending the nursery to others.

My daughter has settled in nicely. She enjoys exploring the activities provided in the room. Staff are friendly and inviting. My son has recently moved up to butterflies and is very happy. He particularly enjoys Mondays playing with a particular carer.

My son was preparing to move from Caterpillars to Ladybirds. I was quite worried as he had grown fond of the staff in Caterpillars.
In all of his settling sessions in Ladybirds, he was so happy. Never any tears or problems.
He loves being in Ladybirds and all the feedback I get back each time is fantastic.

Putting our children into Woodlands Day Nursery was one of the best decisions we have made. My children love it there and have made such lovely friendship groups! It's great to hear from my children what they have done each day from making potions to finding trolls in the forest. My children have become
such confident and independent little people due to the activities they do! My son has just left for school and the graduation was amazing, they know every single child so well and I know he has left ready for school! We love that all the food is made fresh on the day and that there is variety in what they are eating. I will always recommend Woodlands Day Nursery!!

All four of my Grandchildren have attended Woodlands Day Nursery with two still attending today and I wouldn't recommend anywhere else, it is truly outstanding. The love and care that they have received from the truly amazing practitioners shows in how confident little people they are today.
All the
food is made fresh on site and they happily have seconds most days!
I love hearing what they have been doing especially looking for the Gruffalo in the forest area to playing with the footballer!

My two boys (18 months and 3 and a half years) love coming to nursery every day. Staff are warm and friendly and always have a smile on their faces. The facilities and outside space (including the forest school) are amazing and my boys do not hesitate to eat at least 2 helpings of their lovely food
every day.


I was so pleased Woodlands decided to offer the 30 free hours as that makes such a difference to working families. For a 5 a day 7.30-18.30 only closed bank holiday = amazing value for money!!

Both our children have attended Woodlands and after 7 years of using their fantastic service, it was a very emotional goodbye as our youngest starts school. The staff are simply outstanding, kind, caring, friendly and professional. They really do treat each child as an individual!
The environment is
light and airy with well thought out resources. Outside the new forest area provides a fantastic unique learning space and the food is fresh, healthy and child-friendly. It really is outstanding!!

Great nursery. My daughter loves going and her learning development has been excellent.
One member of staff has been particularly good and has been with my daughter for 3 years now. We often ask her to give our daughter a one on one chat to help with problems at home (sleep, behaviour etc) and it works.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2007

Alyson is the Manager of Woodlands Day Nursery in Milton Keynes and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 23 years. Alyson has numerous qualifications, including a BA (Hons) in Professional Studies in Childcare, HND Early Childhood Studies and Early Years Professional Status. Alyson has worked for Childbase Partnership for 13 years.

My team, the setting and our Woodland area.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
The long-standing team and our continued commitment to the families that attend here.


Every child and colleague is valued for their individual skills and personality. I love how every member of the team knows every child and will greet the families, and be part of their nursery experience. Great relationships with the families last long after the children have left for school.
