Acorn Early Years nursery at Kents Hill is ideally located for local families; close to the Kingston retail district and approximately four miles from Junction 13 of the M1 and four miles from Central Milton Keynes.

The nursery has been purpose-built in an innovative octagonal shape, offering lovely, spacious play rooms and a central atrium. Each room leads to extensive garden areas so that the children have access to a range of activities both indoors and outside. Acorn places a strong emphasis on outdoor learning and the children benefit from Acorn’s forest school sessions. They even help to grow vegetables and look after the nursery chickens in the extensive outdoor play area.

The key person system ensures children know there is always somebody there for them at Acorns. The team believe children benefit from meeting their key person in a familiar environment, before beginning their time at the nursery, and so home visits are offered to all new families to help establish those bonds.

All meals are freshly prepared on-site by the nursery chef and menus are carefully designed to offer nutritionally balanced and seasonal options, with something for every child's preferences and requirements.

  • Fees are inclusive of all meals, snacks, drinks (including approved formula milk), nappies and activities.
    We do not charge registration fees, only a £100 deposit which is refunded against the first month’s fees. We don’t charge for settling in sessions, but we do expect payment for all nursery fees to be paid up front at the beginning of each month, which is standard practice for all childcare providers. We do not charge for bank holidays, our four training days each year, or for the three days closure between Christmas and New Year. We do, however, charge for days children don’t attend through illness or holidays, apart from exceptional circumstances.

My children have just started at Acorn at Kents Hill and I am very impressed by the nursery. It's very secure, the staff are all friendly and great with the children, the daily activities are great and they are going to Forest School on Monday which sounds great. Outside space is a bonus and one of
the big reasons I chose Acorns. The app to see photos and videos from the day is also reassuring.

The environment at the nursery is conducive for children. My children (two of them) have tremendously benefited from the nursery in the area of speech, creativity and interpretation of words with other children. Confidence in the children wherever they go is incredible. In terms of progress on the website,
their progress is chronologically appreciated. Lastly, I personally, as a father, appreciate the hard working of the teaching at the nursery because, they have contributed to their quota as far as the bringing up of my ward are concerned. I do thank everyone and encourage them to keep it up.

Our 9 month old daughter started here in April and we can't praise this nursery enough. All the staff are amazing and our daughter loves everyone, in particular her key worker who is fantastic with her. We get regular updates, videos and a diary every day. Our daughter has settled in so well and the
settling in process is great and very reassuring. The manager is fantastic and very approachable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery to anyone.

I was extremely nervous and scared to put my son in any nursery due to previous experience but Acorn at Kents Hill is just wow! My son loves it there, he is learning so much and making loads of friends. The care from the staff towards the children is amazing, I really couldn't of picked a better place!
Feedback is great, what I personally love is I get 3/4 different members of staff tell me different things that my son has done that day. I love the way they interact with all kids and not just the child's key worker. 10/10.

Fantastic nursery! Our little boy loves going to Acorn every morning. He build strong relationships to the staff and children and always comes home really happy and excited about his day at Acorn. The staff are always brilliant, helping with any queries and the daily feedback is a lovely way to involve
parents. The food at the nursery is super. Lots of variety and our little boy started finally eating his veggies ;) But the biggest highlight are the chickens and the outdoor space. Our little boy especially likes Clucky ;)

I couldn't be happier with the care Acorn at Kents Hill provide for my son. He loves going so much that I struggle getting him to leave some days! Every member of staff is so friendly, helpful and keen to help my son in anyway they can. I feel they really care and take pride in the important job they
do. They do so much to entertain and educate that I could never compete at home. The food is fresh and varied regularly and smells amazing. He certainly eats well there! My son has developed leaps and bounds since attending acorn which makes it that bit easier having to leave him each day.

My Son has been attending the nursery since he was 2 years old. He has developed significantly since starting at Acorns and has formed fantastic relationships with staff and other children. He loves attending this nursery, and I love the activities that are available for the children here. Forest School
is amazing, it is lovely that a nursery encourages children to explore the outdoors. The food is very nutritious and tasty and there is a wide variety to choose from. Each child's diets are catered too and the hygiene rating is 5* so you know your child is eating well prepared, safe food. The staff are all so friendly and loving towards the children and always smiling and welcoming. The children sing, learn, paint, make, run around outside, messy play, read, everything they should be doing in a productive day. If I was too ever have another child I would send them here too. I will be so sad when my Son leaves thus September to start school. I will miss the nursery greatly.

Kent Hill is one of the most amazing nurseries I have ever taken my little girl too. I'm due to have another baby and will be taking her there too.

I love how the nursery takes time to invest in the children.


My little boy has been at the nursery just over two months, and has already experienced numerous valuable experiences through the normal run of nursery life, play both inside and outside, cooking, storytime and meal times etc. However,

he has also had the opportunity to explore other experiences through - mini-strikers, trips to the library, forest schools, meeting dogs for the blind and now he's looking forward to meeting the police.


Thank you to the team for making all this possible and investing in my son's and other's lives in this way. I really appreciate all that you do.

My daughter has been at this nursery since she was 8 months old. She has now moved up to the pre school room and continues to love it here! She has formed strong bonds with all the staff, loves the activities like Forest School and Mini Strikers. She really enjoys the outside space and caring for the
chickens, and generally has a fantastic time here. Compared to other nurseries we have used and are aware of, this nursery is a cut above, and I always strongly recommend it when people are looking at childcare options.

The nursery has a lovely open garden with lots of outdoor activities. The girls are friendly and patient with my boys and encourage them to join in with playing and activities. On the educational side, my boys are encouraged to draw and write and learn how to read the time on the clock. Excellent food
cooked by the chef and my boys often have two helpings of lunch.

Elena Martuccio

Job Title: Senior Nursery Manager Joined: 2011

Elena worked in the Early Years sector for many years and has been part of the Acorn team since 2011.


During her time at Acorn, she completed her Foundation Degree in her Early Years and progressed from Deputy Manager to Senior Manager. She is passionate about creating a nursery environment which allows all families, children and staff members to feel happy and welcome on a daily basis.


As a Senior Manager, Elena strives to share her knowledge with other practitioners, supporting them to achieve and reach their personal goals and qualifications.


She is also Kents Hill's Designated Safeguarding Lead, so if you ever have any concerns or would like to chat about anything safeguarding-related, please visit or call the nursery and ask to speak to Elena directly - alternatively, the setting can provide a direct email address for her.
