Acorn Early Years nursery at Kents Hill is ideally located for local families; close to the Kingston retail district and approximately four miles from Junction 13 of the M1 and four miles from Central Milton Keynes.

The nursery has been purpose-built in an innovative octagonal shape, offering lovely, spacious play rooms and a central atrium. Each room leads to extensive garden areas so that the children have access to a range of activities both indoors and outside. Acorn places a strong emphasis on outdoor learning and the children benefit from Acorn’s forest school sessions. They even help to grow vegetables and look after the nursery chickens in the extensive outdoor play area.

The key person system ensures children know there is always somebody there for them at Acorns. The team believe children benefit from meeting their key person in a familiar environment, before beginning their time at the nursery, and so home visits are offered to all new families to help establish those bonds.

All meals are freshly prepared on-site by the nursery chef and menus are carefully designed to offer nutritionally balanced and seasonal options, with something for every child's preferences and requirements.

  • Fees are inclusive of all meals, snacks, drinks (including approved formula milk), nappies and activities.
    We do not charge registration fees, only a £100 deposit which is refunded against the first month’s fees. We don’t charge for settling in sessions, but we do expect payment for all nursery fees to be paid up front at the beginning of each month, which is standard practice for all childcare providers. We do not charge for bank holidays, our four training days each year, or for the three days closure between Christmas and New Year. We do, however, charge for days children don’t attend through illness or holidays, apart from exceptional circumstances.

We couldn't be happier, Acorn and it's staff are simply the best.


Our son has been going to Acorn for just over 1 year and he loves every day.

We Love all the activities done with the children's such as forest school, trips to the local library , and the best of all: trips to the elderly care home where the children can learn from our oldest.
Our son is learning to write and plenty of other things enjoying each minute there. We absolutely

Can't recommend every single bit of this nursery enough!! The staff, the outside play area, the learning process - they all go above and beyond what I imagined for my son. Every single day that I arrive to pick him up, he's happy and sometimes having so much fun he doesn't even want to come home!

My little girl (10 months) has been attending since Jan 2017 and I've been very pleased with how well she has settled in. All the staff are friendly, warm and welcoming to parents and children. I had a wobble recently and the nursery manager listened to everything I had to say and treated me respectfully
and followed up with me a few days later. I am happy with everything I have seen and would definitely recommend the nursery.

It's a amazing nursey with great staff. There is a number of different activities they do with the kids.


They feedback on a daily basis of our child's done.

My daughter attends Acorn Kents Hill 3 days a week and she skips into nursery laughing and excited to see her friends and the staff.
Aged 3 she was being encouraged to start her mark making and can now aged 4 write her name and various other words with no problem - her positive attitude to reading
and writing has been actively encouraged by the staff from an early age and I believe this will help her greatly when she starts school. I feel this is just one aspect that sets Acorn apart from other nurseries and pre-schools.
I am always impressed with the level of care, the initiatives they launch for the kids learning and enjoyment and the positive, happy attitude of the team there. I will be genuinely sad when my daughter leaves to start school in September but I know we will still visit her "second" family on a regular basis. I would highly recommend Acorn Kents Hill without any reservations. Keep up the good job Elena and team.

Can't speak highly of the place! My son loves it there! So much so he doesn't want to leave when we pick him up at times. Staff are fantastic also really put my wife & I's mind at rest knowing our son is being well looked after & also really developing in every area!

Our daughter loves going to nursery, in fact, some days I think she would prefer to stay with all her friends and play! I'm very pleased and impressed with the level of care and attention they give my precious little lady, I can see her growing and developing brilliantly. I would highly recommend this
nursery to anyone. It's a perfect setting and they go the extra mile to do different and fun activities with the kids both within the nursery setting, but off out and about as well.


The food is also amazing!!! I get excited reading the menus and hearing what they have eaten, not only that it's all cooked on site which is brilliant. They even got to have pancakes today lucky kids.

All staff are brilliant with my son, very helpful with progress. I had a moment of vomiting with every he gets but they worked alongside with me and the hospital to get to the bottom of the problem. The environment is friendly and welcoming. Feedback from staff to parent is amazing. Food wise very nutritious
and well balanced. All food is cooked from scratch.

My daughter has been attending this nursery for over 1 year now. She has grown so much confidence in messy playing, she loves the outdoor opportunity provided and in particular the Forest School. We are also extremely happy with the food and I am very pleased with quality and variety. There is a good
focus on healthy eating here. I am registering my youngest daughter to attend here soon. We thoroughly recommend it.

We noticed that our son's development and learning took on a faster pace when he started coming to the nursery. All the staff are great with him and treat him as an individual. Staff are friendly and helpful - very focused on care and development of child. Always working on learning and teaching child new things. Acorn at Kents Hill has been the BEST choice for our little boy. He started in March 2016 when he was nearly a year old and is so happy to go to nursery every day. They do different activities each day (including lots of messy play - which means less need to do it at home). Plus I think they eat better
than we do with a chef catering fresh food for them every day! It's a massive weight off our mind knowing that he's happy there until we can pick him up, I'd highly recommend Kents Hill to anyone looking for a nursery.

Elena Martuccio

Job Title: Senior Nursery Manager Joined: 2011

Elena worked in the Early Years sector for many years and has been part of the Acorn team since 2011.


During her time at Acorn, she completed her Foundation Degree in her Early Years and progressed from Deputy Manager to Senior Manager. She is passionate about creating a nursery environment which allows all families, children and staff members to feel happy and welcome on a daily basis.


As a Senior Manager, Elena strives to share her knowledge with other practitioners, supporting them to achieve and reach their personal goals and qualifications.


She is also Kents Hill's Designated Safeguarding Lead, so if you ever have any concerns or would like to chat about anything safeguarding-related, please visit or call the nursery and ask to speak to Elena directly - alternatively, the setting can provide a direct email address for her.
