A caring, friendly and professional environment. My son has settled in very well and enjoys a huge variety of activities in an excellent learning environment. A happy, lovely place to be.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our time at Poppies Day Nursery. The staff have been excellent in their attention and care. I would definitely recommend their services to any parent.
The outdoor play area is a real gem and the nursery make a point of playing outside as much as possible. The sand pit is a particular favourite with my son.
It's always daunting choosing a nursery for a little one but I couldn't be happier with my choice with Poppies.
Have been satisfied with the nursery so far. My daughter has started full-time only recently, early September so I am finding the information sent home for the day very useful, especially since she is in the baby room. Good experience overall.
Everyone at the nursery has been extremely welcoming to our little girl. The class sizes are nice and small and it's clear that the children get a lot of attention from the nursery staff. Even the managers go out of their way to interact with the children, which is noted. Our little one loves Wednesday playtimes and the garden is lovely.
The nursery is run by the manager - where can I start? She's been brilliant from day one. She's been a great support and so helpful. I cannot rave about her enough. She goes above and beyond her duties, i.e. I left my daughters antibiotics in the nursery and she dropped it off to me after nursery! She's always contactable via telephone/email and always promptly replies.
My husband and I are both London city workers in high-stress jobs and the manager has made going back to work so much easier. I know my daughter is safe and I know if I need extra days I can ask and if I'm late again she'll be safe. Highly recommend this nursery and will send all my kids there.
The nursery staff are amazing and treat every child like an individual. They work with the parents to make sure that the children succeed in both education and life learning. I honestly don't know what we would do without them!! They are like an extended family.
Our son has thrived since attending and we highly recommend the nursery to other parents.
We are kept informed of our child's progress and are supported in areas that require improvement. All round fantastic nursery.
My son has been attending Poppies for the past 12 months and has developed so much. The class that he is in at the moment is for 2-3-year-olds and their structured activities are excellent. They have recently been learning to tell the time and they seem to have great interest. My son is always asking what time it is and he's developed his counting and number recognition skills. The extra activities introduced each week which are provided by external companies are great. The coach provides learning through sports and music melody is fun, encouraging and creative.
Our daughter loves the staff here, and all the activities they organise. They are very thoughtful, and hand make cards for Fathers Day, Mothers Day, Birthdays etc.
They are supporting her learning with a folder of all the progress, which we recently saw at parents evening.
The team are happy to work to our requests - when we were struggling with bedtime at home, we have asked them to reduce her naps, which they have done with pleasure.
The garden means there is room for all the children to spend time outside, unlike many of the other nurseries where they have to take it in turns
One of the best things is that even in the baby room, the children all sit together around the table. This is great for their social interaction and encourages her to eat food that she would not necessarily eat at home.
Thank you to all of the team, and we look forward to more happy years at Poppies Holmer Green
The staff have been supportive towards my son joining Poppies. He was a little shy and unsure to start with but the team at Poppies helped him settle in and have taught him life skills. Thank you :)
Poppies has made my daughter's start at nursery such a pleasant and easy transition. It's like a home from home. My daughter has made great bonds with the staff and I couldn't have chosen a better nursery.
Very friendly staff. The children all seem happy and interested in the activities going on. The nursery is always clean. The meals are healthy and well planned.
The staff are all full of energy, and all clearly adore the children. Everyone knows my daughter's name and greets her, whether they work in her room or not.
We recently had a parents evening, which was great to see the progress of all the children is documented, with examples of how she has shown each area of improvement. My daughter was premature and has some delay in her gross motor skills. Not only do the team encourage her to make improvements, but they have even contacted the NHS physio, to get the appointments moved to the nursery, to enable the best progress possible, and so I can continue with my work and know she is in the best possible care. We have daily sheets with lovely notes about what they have been up to, and what she has eaten.
Thank you Poppies Day Nursery Holmer Green!
It's a 10/10 from us.
As a premature baby, he has made phenomenal progress mainly due to the fierce determination and the support given to him. He is enriched and engaged in a variety of activities each day and particularly enjoys the opportunities given to play outside in the amazing new garden.
My wife and I are fully satisfied that he is totally safe and cared for. He enjoys the food and we believe that the quality of food he is given, is of the highest possible standard.
All staff are committed and passionate about our child achieving their potential. They have high expectations and deliver outstanding pastoral care and support.
Staff have taken the time and effort to support and educate us as parents so that we are best able to help our child develop into a confident and happy little boy.
My son started at Poppies when he was 8 1/2 months and he has been taken great care of by his key worker and all her support staff. He settled in perfectly well with the help of the friendly staff who made me feel comfortable with leaving him, therefore it was a smooth experience for him also. He is an active baby and he certainly is kept stimulated and engaged by the great facilities in the baby nest. I also am pleased he is able to be outside on a regular basis making the most of the great play space in the garden they have there. Poppies also offer him a great variation with their menu and I am always impressed when seeing his different options and what he has had on a daily basis.
I'd like to see more painting/arts and crafts on a regular basis. If it's being done we're not getting told about it!
It would also be good to have more regular updates on their development. I really appreciate the handover at pick up but maybe a once a term meeting would be good to get more in-depth understanding of how Poppies think they are doing against the curriculum and key stages.
My daughter has been at Poppies since she was a baby and is now in the Little Explorers (Toddler) room. She really enjoys nursery and has grown very attached to her carers. She's also made some lovely friends! It's a very nurturing environment and the children have a good range of activities every day. They even had a live cockerel visit recently for Chinese New Year plus enjoy music lessons from Melody Music. The new nursery garden means the children have lots of outdoor space to have even more fun and I can see them being outside nearly all summer. We also get very detailed feedback at the end of each day so we know she has lots of fun.
My son loves attending Poppies - he has been with them since he was 10 months old and is now 4. All the staff know him - even those who do not work with him directly and I think this is a real positive.
