Stepping Stones Day Nursery

My daughter recently left Stepping Stones to start school, after 3.5 happy years. She loved her time there, she settled in quickly it was clear that the main priority was to ensure she felt happy and secure. The activities such as French, Great Little Movers, cook school make the nursery stand out, and friends often say they wish their nursery did the same.

The garden is fantastic, space to run free, get muddy, and have fun! I recently looked back at her Learning Journey book and it was brilliant to remember how much she had done: she made friendships, learnt about topics such as the seasons; singing in French, looking after a caterpillar and watched it turn into a butterfly (which she still talks about!)

Our son is now at nursery, and he is thriving. I have always been happy with the care they have received and know they are happy at nursery. I would recommend the nursery to anyone looking for a fun, nurturing environment for their child, and the staff are fantastic.

Now my elder son is leaving to the big school and I believe he enjoyed every single day playing, learning and discovering at Stepping Stones. My younger son will get to continue enjoying it :)

My daughter has been attending Stepping Stones nursery since she was 6 months old, and she'll soon be leaving for Big School! We're very happy with her progression through the years as we've increased her attendance, and our daughter has thrived with the varying activities, including Cook School, Great Little Movers, French and so many more. I couldn't recommend the nursery more and will be sad to say goodbye when the time comes.

I have always felt confident in leaving my daughter at stepping stones, assured she would have a lovely day.

My son started attending Stepping Stones nursery last September. With the arrival of his younger brother in the July, I went from doing something everyday with him to very far and few between! I wanted to give him a permanent fixture in his life, somewhere that was like a home from home, where he could make new friends and explore his need to learn new things. He has always been a very sociable, friendly little boy and I didn't want that to stop as I had less time on my hands. I didn't want him to be a recluse so thought nursery would be a good idea for him. It was a tough decision for me to make that jump and let him go and find his independence. But, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. His self esteem has rocketed and he is a confident self assured 2 year old! He has found his independence and self belief to do things on his own. Singing, learning french (and shouting 'pomme'), painting me daily pictures, he never fails to surprise me with his ever growing knowledge! He has loved the dressing up days (especially as a monster), being the postman at Christmas and baking cakes to raise money for jeans for genes day. It has given him structure in his little world and he has honestly thrived on it. I could see when I dropped him off and picked him up how comfortable he was to be there, and as a parent, that told me everything I needed to know. His daily reports, were a lovely insight to me as to how his morning went. I have made him a little folder of his time at stepping stones, as I have lots of pictures of his experiences and little things he's made. Thank you for keeping me so informed. I cannot thank all the staff at stepping stones enough. From the bottom of my heart thank you so much for looking after my little boy. You went above and beyond your normal job to help me out when my car broke down and I am ever so grateful for that. We are all so sad to leave. It will be hard to find another nursery to match this one.

Overall I would definitely recommend Stepping Stones as a lovely setting to send your little one too :-)

My son has been attending Stepping Stones Day Nursery since he was 11 months. From the moment he started, he settled in extremely quickly and being a first time mum, I felt completely at ease leaving him with the staff. They are friendly, professional and work extremely hard to ensure that all the children are looked after and cared for. I would like to say that both myself and my husband have a fantastic relationship with all the staff and nothing is too much trouble. My son absolutely loves his time whilst at Nursery, there is so much for him to do, the extensive garden is amazing, being an outdoor boy, he loves it. He gets the opportunity to learn French, keep fit and play with lots of fun things. Overall, the whole Nursery has a family feel which we love and really would recommend a visit! My 2 sons have been at Stepping Stones for over 2 years and I am very pleased with the environment and all of the staff. The brand new pre-school building is purpose-built and fantastic. It has every facility necessary to assist the smooth transition from a caring, play-orientated nursery setting for the younger children, up to the classroom set-up of a reception class in school for the older ones. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming, and eager to discuss my child's day. We even receive emailed daily reports on their eating, sleeping and activities, often including a photograph - which is lovely to see when I'm in my office environment, as well as to keep as a record for future reference. I haven't had cause to complain, but I know that the manager's door is always open for a chat if I felt I needed to discuss my children's progress. The long back-garden provides plenty of space for children to run about and the new decking area is ideal when the grass gets a bit muddy. Feedback sessions/parents evenings are always very productive. The staff have prepared for them and back up their discussions with the child's progress/achievement folder. Parental input is actively sought out, which I find reassuring. I'm very pleased with the nursery and would definitely recommend it to others.

Fabulous safe environment, educational and friendly environment. Excellent staff and outstanding facilities and service. Extra activities; GO club, French and Great Little Movers. Large wooded outdoor area. Additional numbers catered for due to the recent expansion.

Fantastic nursery, and well recommended. Not only were the staff great at settling Liam into school, but also was very understanding on how hard it was as a parent having to leave him. Always very friendly and welcoming.

Our children have attended Stepping Stones Day Nursery every week since they were 8 months old, both girls settled quickly in their early days and continue to thrive in the setting. Having visited many nursery settings over the years (I previously worked in Childcare and Education recruitment) I knew even before I was pregnant that that Stepping Stones would be my preferred setting. On his first visit, my husband completely agreed.

The level of care our children receive has always been consistent. From the moment you walk through the door your family is welcomed into the family of Stepping Stones. The Manager’s door is always open, we are kept well informed of our children’s progress both verbally, and in writing and we know they are both safe and secure in their ‘home from home’.

Most importantly, they get lots of cuddles!

Our eldest is about to start school; we are sad the time has come for her to leave but so grateful for the many positive experiences she has had in what has been a wonderful start to her learning journey.

I really couldn't recommend this setting more.

Our boy has been going to Stepping Stones since June 2015, and he has settled in so well. Each member of staff are so professional and friendly at the same time! He gets a lot of one on one time with his key worker which he loves, and the massive variety of activities is just outstanding! Definitely recommend!

My 18 month old has only been going to Stepping Stones for 6 months and the staff are all so lovely helping him settle in. It's so important to leave your children in the care of someone you trust, and I am totally confident that my little boy is safe and cared for to an excellent standard here. My boy is an energetic eating machine so I picked this nursery for the great quality food and the extensive outdoor space. As he grows I know this nursery and the brilliant staff will cater for his needs and I always look forward to the new things he learns there every time he is in!
