Merrydale Day Nursery

My son has recently left the nursery to start school. We were sad for him to leave, but all of the staff at Merrydale gave him excellent care and did a fantastic job of preparing him for school. He has left the nursery a confident, happy child who is excited about starting his school life. In particular he enjoyed the wonderful garden with the wide range of play equipment available. We cannot fault the time he spent at the nursery.

I just wanted to pass on my thanks regarding the Manager @ Merrydale, I was running 30 mins late for collecting my children due to car accident on the M4 and was worried that I would be penalized for running late... when you have twins that can become expensive!! So I rang her to explain and she showed great flexibility & understanding and importantly empathized with my situation. Thanks a million!!!!!

Merrydale is truly outstanding environment for young children to develop and flourish. My daughter has attended Merrydale since she was 10 months old and my wife and I have always been nothing but impressed from day one.

Our key worker immediately built a very strong bond with our daughter which enabled her to settle in in record time. She is challenged and stimulated every day with a diverse array of activities including French and dance movement session.

All in all, there is nowhere else that my wife and I would have our daughter. We were recommended Merrydale by a close family friend and we too recommend it to all new parents in our area, searching for a great nursery.

My three year old son has been attending Merrydale since he was 11 months old and really enjoys it and we consider him to be thriving here. I have been delighted to see the variety of activities that the children do and the imagination of the staff in coming up with different games and creative play.

We love the fact that they have a large garden and the children spend a lot of time outside - for my son in the 'mud kitchen' doing creative play! He also loves the 'Baby French' lessons and Great Little Movers and being encouraged to be independent in preparation for school. The staff are personable and highly professional.

There is a great continuous improvement ethic at Merrydale - from the buildings and resources to improving the menu recently to the electronic 'day-in-the-life' updates - and the approach at Merrydale is very flexible and supportive of the individual child and family.

Overall I consider this to be an excellent provider and am very happy to recommend.

Both of my children have attended Merrydale and have thrived at this setting. We particularly like the homely setting and the variety of spaces, both indoor and outdoor, that the children have to explore. It's great that the space is continually being developed, keeping it a stimulating environment. My children have formed fantastic relationships with their key workers, and all staff show great care for the children.

From day one my daughter first started at the nursery, they helped her settle in really quickly. She really enjoys spending time there. All the staff are friendly and welcoming, they make you feel at ease leaving your child in their care.

My daughter enjoys being at Merrydale and the staff are very dedicated and professional. They involve the children in all sorts of activities and create an exciting, fun, yet educational environment. Should one of the children cry then there is always a helping hand or someone doing their best to comfort them. In the beginning it was a tough choice to go back to work and take my 9 month old daughter to a day nursery but after looking around for weeks I found that Merrydale best served my daughter and my requirements. The staff were very reassuring and made my daughter feel at home so that she adapted very quickly. I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough.

My experience with this nursery has been great from the beginning. The management were always very professional yet understanding and the staff very warm and lovely. My triplet boys, now aged 3 years and 11 months have been attending this nursery sine January 2015 and they are very happy.

The nursery is absolutely fabulous! From making the process easy when my 18 month old switched nurseries to helping my 5 month old settle in when I went back to work, all the staff have been amazingly supportive to them both and I couldn't feel more content with the care the boys receive.

Always accepting of any feedback and willing to be flexible to accommodate the needs of individuals, this nursery is fantastic!

A lovely nursery with a warm-family vibe!

Merrydale is a lovely, warm & caring environment - a real home from home. The team there are almost a second family to my son and he loves going to nursery every day. Progressing from a baby through to starting school soon in September, I have felt happy knowing that he is safe, cuddled and having lots of fun coupled with structured learning and play in Pre School to help get him ready for school. I particularly like the daily updates we get by email of his activities, what he has eaten and photos of him engaging in activities. We chose Merrydale because we wanted a smaller, more personal nursery and have been very pleased with our choice. Our son has also made some lovely friends and there is opportunity to interact regularly with other parents. It will be quite emotional in September when he moves on to school!
