Acres of Fun Day Nursery

Fantastic garden, friendly staff, balanced nutritious meals, wouldn't send my children anywhere else!

Our initial expectations of Acres of Fun were very high and we have not been disappointed. The facilities are great and the staff for the most part very engaging, our babies have thrived at Acres and have been well prepared for the move to "big" school. They have been keen to go to school and always come back dirty, red-cheeked from being outside and with a smile on their faces - perfect. What's more, you can be confident that they have eaten a well-balanced meal to keep their bodies fuelled for the next "adventure". When things haven't gone quite to plan Acres has been prepared to listen to concerns and has reacted appropriately, in my book the sign of an institution that really cares about the service they are offering.

What can I say about this nursery... my daughter has been coming since Oct 2017 and she absolutely loves it. She is always happy to be handed over and often runs away when either myself or my husband go to pick her up, as she does not want to go home! It made going back to work so much easier, knowing she was happy at nursery. All of the staff are lovely and very informative when it comes to childcare. They support your style at home, as we did baby led weaning and they helped us to persevere with that at nursery too. We also love the online diary tool where you can see pictures of them doing activities and can see all the fun they are having. I also like that they link this to their Early Years Curriculum, so you get a good idea of how they are developing. Lastly, the grounds themselves are great and there is so much outside space for the kids to run around, along with the animals they keep on site too. I would recommend this nursery to a fellow parent in a heartbeat.

My son absolutely loves nursery! I am overwhelmed at how he has developed, especially with his speech, since joining Acres. His key workers have been fantastic and I trust them implicitly and I know they care for him and his well being deeply. This makes dropping him off in the mornings easier, knowing he is thriving in such an interactive and creative environment. I particularly love the vast outdoor space, every day when I collect him he is outside running around in the fresh air. Sometimes he doesn't want to leave. Thanks to everyone at Acres for making it a home away from home for my child.

Acres of Fun has provided a consistently superb service in caring for, and shaping, my daughter, who has been enrolled at Acres on a full-time basis since September 2014. Each step of the way has been a joy for my wife and I and more importantly for our daughter. The Acres team in each year-group have been great: enthusiastic, proactive, swift to provide feedback, good-humoured and above all, kind.

It was the emphasis on outdoor and sociable activities at Acres of Fun that sold it to us in August 2014. I would stick by this. Just as important has been the range of activities, including French lessons, ballet, football, gardening and cooking.

It will be a real wrench for my daughter, and for her parents, when we get to the end of her time at Acres in August 2018. The Acres team have done a flawless job and I would recommend Acres of Fun to anyone.

My son has been at Acres for 2 days a week since he turned one and sadly will be leaving in August for school. He has been so well looked after from Day one and progressed through all the rooms at the nursery, making close bonds with all his key workers. It has been a joy to see how his time at Acres has helped him develop into a bright inquisitive and cheeky young lad. The facilities and activities put on at Acres are just amazing, there is always something exciting happening and well thought out and planned days. The grounds are stunning with plenty of focus on outside play, which is just so important for young children. Then there is the food, seasonally varied menu, all home cooked on site with local quality produce - breakfast, 2 hot meals and snacks - and from the tasters we have had - all delicious. I could not have been happier with what Acres has offered our son. Thank you to all the team, you all work so very hard to give the kids the best experience possible.

My daughter has been at Acres of Fun for the last 3 years. I wholeheartedly recommend the nursery and Pre-school. The staff are caring, supportive and each child is treated as an individual. The facilities are excellent and my daughter loves spending time in the large gardens and taking part in the various activities including swimming in the summer, planting vegetables, football and ballet. She and I have made some great friends and we’ll both miss Acres when she starts school in September.

Acres of Fun is a fantastic nursery and my son has really thrived since he joined. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. The facilities of the nursery are excellent and the garden really is acres of fun!

Both my children have attended Acres of Fun and absolutely love it, stunning setting where the children are outside as much as possible. A warm, friendly and nurturing environment, where both my children have thrived. My son, who has just started school, is way ahead already thanks to Acres. Amazing quality home cooked food, all prepared from scratch onsite - I wouldn't send my children anywhere else!

We are so pleased we chose Acres for our little boy. The staff are so friendly and really care for the children, ensuring they are settled and getting to know each child really well. Our little boy has been really happy at Acres, and he has so many opportunities to play in a variety of ways. The activities are exciting and help him learn; he has grown in confidence and formed close attachments to lots of the staff, especially his key workers. The staff are professional and understanding, showing flexibility to ensure the children feel at home. The grounds and garden areas are superior to any other nursery we looked at -each room has a private garden just for those children and then there is a huge garden. I like that all the children can be outside at the same time. The food is varied and interesting. Our child has an allergy and the nursery is so good at providing for him. He is very happy at nursery and I think it’s down to the excellent quality of care and provision at Acres.

Our daughter has been with Acres of Fun since she was 8 months old and she's loved every day being there! From the moment we walked in on our visit and saw the huge grounds and fantastic staff, we instantly signed her up and have never looked back. She has learned so much and made so many friends at the nursery, we couldn't think of her going anywhere else. The staff are so knowledgeable, really take an interest in our daughter and her development and offer us so much advice on a daily basis. The facilities are unrivalled in terms of the space for the children to run around and enjoy the outdoors. Every day, rain or shine the children are outside and enjoying getting muddy, learning about nature or the animals and letting off some steam in the garden or woods. We love Acres of Fun and can't recommend it highly enough.

My daughter has been to Nursery since she was 1 year old. She absolutely loves it as she has all attention of the staff. Activities are brilliant for a natural development of my little one! Employees of Acres are very professional, take good care of the development of the little ones. She was potty trained when she was 1.5 years old. Her key worker encouraged her to go on the potty when she felt she was ready for it! Now at pre-school she enjoys every minute! Their environment around the nursery is excellent with the fairy house, their park etc... Highly recommended.

Every day is different, with spring/summer months spent mostly outside in the wonderful outside space, autumn/winter is splashing about in mud and drying off in the warm environment inside.

I believe when our children get excited about attending nursery and preschool that is a very good gauge as to the true nature of Acres of Fun.

Acres of Fun is an excellent nursery. The staff are all very friendly and good with the children and they have a high degree of professionalism. There are always lots of activities going on and the facilities are great with lots of outdoor space. My two children love it there!

An outstanding nursery with excellent staff, facilities and food. Was a significant contributor to our eldest daughter's preschool development, confidence and preparation for school. More importantly, she enjoyed every minute of being there - the fantastic outdoor learning, the commitment to developing life skills and the rapport with the staff team who are dedicated to the needs of the children.

Amazing facilities, excellent outdoor space that can be used in all weathers. Genuine staff who all go the extra mile for the children and a fantastic management team. I can’t speak highly enough of Acres of Fun!
