Abacus Nursery

Just want to say Abacus is indeed a well-kept secret in Newbury. I started taking my daughter there in July and I have seen her develop so quickly. She is happy, social and able to interact well with others. She's had lots of diet restrictions due to allergies and the team have been very accommodating and helpful to ensure she still gets healthy and nutritious allergen-free meals. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I will recommend if you live or work in the area - or if you need to use their services. Thanks to all the team.

During our recent trips to the nursery, we have found a very welcoming service making our child feel welcomed and myself feeling rest assured they will be cared for.

Our little boy absolutely loves his time at Abacus. He has only recently started but has very quickly settled in. The staff gave been really welcoming and the facilities really help him investigate and plat at his own pace, but develop at the same time. He comes home each day really content and tired from the day's activities. The meals provided have really helped him try a wider variety of finger foods, in particular, and he has been less fussy with fruits!

I cannot thank Abacus enough for all they have done to continue looking after my little boy throughout all of lockdown. As a key worker myself, the service that was provided was invaluable, allowing me to continue going to work. A particular big thanks must go to three members of staff in particular who kept things going through what was a hard time for everyone. You are all stars and deserve every bit of recognition and thanks you receive.

We are exceptionally grateful to Abacus Nursery for taking our son in at the last minute when his original nursery was unable to support key workers. Our son has the best time at the nursery and loves the variety of activities and food. His skills have jumped ahead in recent months since his start date in March. He bangs on the car window, points and gets excited nearly every time we pull up to nursery. The staff are also incredible with him, exceptionally friendly and supportive.

Since our son has been at the nursery, he has thrived. He is supported with his emotional needs and since a recent diagnosis, his health needs have been supported immeasurably. When discussing the diagnosis, the first thing his keyworker said was 'how can we help?' Thank you!

This nursery is excellent, our daughter goes for 3 days a week and absolutely loves it. She has thrived since starting at 9 months old. Her confidence has grown and her vocabulary has come on massively. She has made lots of friends is always talking about them and her keyworker even when she hasn't been. Would highly recommend to others.

Our daughter started at this nursery in January 2019. It was difficult to leave her but the staff were fantastic with her settling in sessions, very caring and supportive putting us both at ease. She loves going to nursery and often mentions the staff when at home. Her keyworker has been fantastic, very friendly and easy to talk to as are all the staff members. The app is great for keeping you regularly updated with what your child has been doing throughout the day, what they've eaten, what sleep they've had and the excellent activities they've taken part in, the photos we get show us just how much she's enjoying herself. The meals they are given are healthy and homemade, our daughter often eats seconds. Activities are fun and varied, the active music sessions and French with madame are a particular favourite hers.

To have to go back to work full time with no support structure is extremely nerve-racking, however, I have had complete comfort at leaving my son at Abacus from day 1. They have been amazing with him and the support we have received. They are all always so friendly and willing to give my little boy cuddles. My son has grown leaps and bounds since he started. He loves school and it makes us so happy. I cannot speak highly enough about this amazing school and wonderful staff.

The day is filled with multiple activities and he enjoys them thoroughly the staff is very friendly and caring. I would recommend this nursery. And yes they are very supportive with additional days and schedule changes.

Abacus have been amazing. The team have looked after our little girl perfectly and prepared her for the reception class at school. It's a lovely home from home atmosphere and the outdoor space is great.

My baby daughter received good care whilst at Abacus nursery. She settled in well thanks to the help of the staff and was happy there. She had a great introduction to nursery routines and I am very grateful to all the staff for the good care she received whilst she was there.

Lastly no sugar intake or processed food, please. Other than these, really amazing team, so happy!

Abacus Day Nursery has welcomed my daughter with open arms, all staff are very friendly and accommodating. The building is full of fun activities, toys and books for children of all ages, including a lovely garden with animals and outdoor toy equipment. I would recommend this nursery to anyone!

Would highly recommend Abacus Nursery in Newbury. Staff are very attentive, caring and helpful. My little 1 and a half-year-old absolutely loves going there and always comes home with a smile on his face. The team are very friendly and made this whole experience enjoyable and an easy transition for us.

We have used Abacus for 2 of our children after moving to the area. All of the staff are caring and helpful and happy to assist with any challenges, including food intolerances etc. I have happily recommended Abacus to a number of friends. Freshly prepared food, great relationships and both of my children have absolutely loved their time at Abacus. It would have been great if we had lived here so that my older two children could have come here as well.

My five year old son attended the nursery from 10 months until almost 5 years & my daughter has been there since she was 8 months, she is now nearly 3 yrs. They both have loved there time there and that speaks volumes. The staff are always attentive to their needs & will always call me if they are ill or just not right. I am able to access an app that shows me their progress through the day & I also get regular updates and photos of developments and milestones both academically & socially. They offer regular parents evenings & in preschool my son was offered opportunities to play Rugby, learn French, go out to pantomimes & perform in a nativity, all included in the price. I believe all of these opportunities & the general care & determination from the staff really put him in a very good position when starting school. I believe his experience in this nursery has helped him have a fantastic Reception year at school due to his confidence, education & social skills. Thank you Abacus.

All the staff are very attentive and caring, we can see that in their interactions with other children, too. Abacus has a very nice outdoor space and other indoor activity areas. If anyone is looking for a place for their children, we would definitely recommend Abacus. Thank you for all of your hard work!
