Our son absolutely loves his time at the nursery, he attends full time and I feel so comfortable with the care that he receives at the nursery. Providing for our choice of nappy, accommodating our requests and allowing him to develop via exploration and a variety of activities. I have no hesitation
in recommending the nursery and actively do so on local social media groups.

Caring and passionate staff ensure the children are safe, well cared for and happy. Throughout the 3 years my daughter has been attending Holme Park, she has enjoyed a vast array of activities, all carefully chosen to meet the appropriate curriculum. Her progress has been tracked consistently, with
staff able to discuss her strengths and areas for development clearly and with a good understanding of my child.
Meals are cooked on site and are carefully balanced to ensure a broad variety and healthy mix of tastes. Children are supported to try new foods and to develop age-appropriate table manners and independence. The staff know the children well and support parents’ wishes regarding food.
I have already booked a place for our second child and look forward to watching her grow and develop under the guidance and care of the wonderful staff at Holme Park!

Holme Park is a lovely nursery that both our boys have attended. The staff are amazing and recently went hugely beyond anything they should have been expected to do after a car crash stopped me getting to there to fetch my son. Being relatively small the Nursery has a caring, family feel as well as
a great setting, with fun spaces indoors and outdoors.

My son has been at this nursery since 10 Months old and is just about to “graduate” from preschool this year. He has absolutely thrived since starting at the nursery.

The staff are skilled in knowing how to engage the children in their play and learning and the learning journeys are so personal to

your child included little comments and lots of photos. The communication with parents is excellent at the end of each day and also additional parents evenings.

Lots of outside space and equipment to encourage physical development, there has been some investment since they have changed hands into busy bees.

The staff are absolutely amazing, our sons both love going to nursery and it is down to the staff’s hard work and dedication to their job. They make the environment engaging each and every day for all the children. Their zest for their job is evident - they love it and we do too!

You won’t regret it - go and see the nursery in action.

Three of my four children have attended Holme Park at some point in their childhood and I am just about to register my fourth! That should say it all really, I shall elaborate a bit. There is a real feeling of family there, but with a conscientious and professional approach to child development. I have
never in the seven years have had dealings with them felt under serviced or less important than any of their other families.
The facilities are great - my only suggestion for improvement would be for a separate dining room, but everything else is fabulous and the setting is gorgeous. A great garden where you can tell the children have hours of fun. The pre-school offering is great too and the children leave totally prepared for "big school".

I love Monkey Puzzle / Holme Park. It's great.

We have been using Holme Park Day Nursery (including as part of its previous franchise) for over 6.5 years now for both of our children. Throughout this time our children have been well looked after as each key worker and every member of staff has loved and cared for them. The environment is clean and
well treated by staff and children and tons of open space for them to play in. Food is also really good quality.

The preschool has a dedicated teacher for the older group which has been a significant improvement over the last couple of years and allows the preschool to prepare the children thoroughly for going into school.

The location is superb for us and very easily accessible with lots of parking, and the nursery also offers long hours at a very competitive price. I would recommend Holme Park to any parents who are looking for somewhere for their child to grow up in a home away from home environment when they need it. We will be very sad to leave it next year.

My son is attending the nursery for a month and the staff have made him feel very welcome. The nursery is in a very nice location and has pets such as chickens which my son loves.
The nursery provides nappies as well so that is a big plus.
The only thing for improvement would be the squirrels room
which is a little bit small. Compared to that the pre-school room and play area are much better. Perhaps a roof window would make it nicer and lighter.
The biggest asset of the nursery are the staff - really friendly.

Holme Park is a wonderfully caring nursery and preschool. All children are treated as individuals and as a small, independent nursery all children are made to feel at home. The nursery is surrounded by wide open space and plenty of outside play area. My toddler regularly tells me 'I've had a good day
mummy' and I've seen how much he's thrived in a such a fun, caring environment.

My son has been attending the nursery for almost a year now.
The staff were absolutely fantastic during his settling in period.
He adjusted very well and settled into the nursery very quickly.
He has made some good friends - with his peers and with the staff.

The staff communication is very good.

I

would highly recommend this nursery to family and friends.

Great Nursery, the key staff are brilliant with my little boy. Sometimes he doesn't want to leave the nursery as he's having so much fun and runs through the gates in the morning. We are very happy with this nursery and feel he is happy and safe there.

My son joined the nursery in June and I couldn't be more pleased with how he has settled and how well cared for he is. All of the staff take a genuine interest in him and he is extremely happy there. He loves the chickens and rabbits and always tells me about the fun things he has done in the day!
I have been really impressed with the professionalism and the helpfulness of the staff.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.690)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.690) out of 10 for Busy Bees Holme Park Day Nursery, Reading is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.958 for Busy Bees Holme Park Day Nursery, Reading is calculated as follows: ( (46 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.958
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.732 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Holme Park Day Nursery, Reading is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 56 number of registered child places is 11.2. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.2 = 0.357
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
