Little Tots Nursery Reading is a full-time private Montessori Day Nursery and has been running for over 16 years. It is located near the Central Reading area and has an excellent reputation for providing the highest quality of care and education for children aged from 2 to 5 years.

What makes them different?

Little Tots Nurseries offer the best foundation for life, the Montessori philosophy is to teach children independence from an early age, every child learns at their own pace and is treated as an individual. They also pride themselves on their Forest School which is an inspirational experience, that offers children the opportunity to achieve and develop confidence through hands-on learning in a woodland environment. To complement the nursery day they also offer extra curriculum activities e.g Secret Garden, Diddy Dance , Music & Dance, Science, Cooking sessions. Freshly prepared meals included.

Unlike many nurseries, they benefit from a smaller environment and take a personal approach, the children remain with the same staff and peer group throughout their time at the nursery, helping them form relationships and gain confidence. All the children are integrated benefiting from strong social bonds, stability and continuity of care. The Montessori ethos encourages “family grouping” where children aged 2-5 work together, with the older children acting as role models for the younger children and the younger children benefiting from learning by example from the older children. Little Tots put the child and parent’s needs first.

Little Tots recognise how important it is that parents have instant access to their child learning journal and reports. They use ParentZone - a smartphone and tablet app which brings parents closer to their child’s development at nursery. Parents will be able to see a timeline of their child’s day at nursery, with photos, videos and notes on their child’s daily activities.

Honestly the best nursery. I’ve had experiences with 5 nurseries in total with both of my children. My son is currently attending Little Tots and it is hands down the best nursery my children have been to. The staff are incredible with the children and have great energy, you can tell how much the children
love them and the love that they have for the children. My son loves forest school and dancing and has come such a long way since he joined the nursery. They give regular updates on an app which is great. The facilities are amazing and they’re always doing something different. There are weekly emails to keep parents up to date on what the children have been doing. My son and I will be so sad when he leaves for school! I recommend this place to everyone and found out about it through recommendations myself.

My son started nursery one week after his second birthday. He was completely non verbal and having lots of tantrums. After some months, he has learned a lot and made so much progressed, now he is saying lots of words and seems so happy every time we pick him up. The staff are very caring and they report
all the child's progress and have great communication with you all the time.
We are very happy with this nursery and cant recommend it enough.

I moved my daughter to this nursery not long ago as she wasn't old enough to join before. We were delighted with the smooth adaptation and how excited she is every day to go, and asks for it over the weekends as well! It’s been tough to match the high bar they raised at home.. but we are slowly trying
to add Montessori activities on her routine. Her independence has grown so much since and so did her confidence.

I knew of the nursery from many years ago due to having come across it through one of the kids I used to look after and when I received the email we had a place for my youngest I was really happy! My son is very happy there and I'm always assured that the staff treats him well and they do their best
possible. The reason why I now have also lined up my second boy to join in. All staff is very very friendly and welcoming and I couldn’t have chosen better in my opinion. Thank you

My daughter attends Little Tots and can't thank them enough for how amazing they are with her. My son used to attend so I was really pleased she was able to join. No nurseries in the area compare to what Little Tots provide. Forest school is a firm favorite and their amazing garden is loved so much
by my daughter. The staff are very kind, great with communication, and have always been caring towards my daughter. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending little tots to other parents.

So happy with this nursery. The staff is amazing and so friendly. The most important is that my child is happy too and that means they know how to teach them making them happy at the same time.

Both our children have been here and really benefited from the free flow in and out as well as the freedom to choose activities. Lovely varied menu! Communication is good and there was a lot of compassionate understanding when we lost a much loved grandparent and our child was uncharacteristically biting
and hitting.

My son attended the nursery for 2 and a half years. In this time he has flourished, became very independent and learned a lot. The staff are very caring, communication is excellent and the resources and learning activities are very valuable and Montessori aligned. My son's favourite thing about nursery
was going to forest school. He is very sad to leave, which goes to show that the level of care he received here is outstanding. Thank you Little Tots!

My daughter joined the nursery ‘baby’ room at just under 1 year old, she has seamlessly progressed on a fabulous journey into the 2+ room. The learning environment is highly stimulating and engaging with a wide variety of activities and she is picked up with a smile on her face every day. Forest school
is another huge plus. The online portal allows us to keep fully up to date with daily activities and staff are always really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

A loving environment full of opportunities to learn and flourish. Forest school, dancing, visiting the adjacent farm are only a few of the amazing activities available to the children while at little tots. Without question the best nursery setting I have seen. I wish my daughter could stay forever!

We love Little Tots Nursery - Reading. Our little one is learning so much whilst having fun. We love to see the improvements, gain of independence and confidence in every day tasks. My son has been attending the nursery since September 2020. The staff are always so welcoming and make me feel at ease leaving him in their care. I love being able to see pictures and observations to see what he's been up to through the parent app. Every day my son is excited to attend and I can see
how much his confidence has grown and his development is coming on so well. The nursery always has new and interesting activities for him to enjoy. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone.

I have nothing but praise for LittleTots Nursery. My son has loved every minute of his time there. The staff are all wonderful and go out of their way to give the children a fun safe learning environment.
The nursery garden facilities are excellent and the trips to the secret garden/forest school
are always the highlight of my son's week. I cannot recommend this nursery enough. It's the best!

My daughter started Little Tots Nursery in September 2020 and she has loved it so much!
The staff have been so welcoming and lovely, my daughter seems very happy and has made lots of friends.

We love Little Tots!
We have a 3-year-old who has been part of the Little Tots community for 10 months now, she had not attended a nursery before this and as parents, we were initially apprehensive about how she would settle in, we need not have worried at all!
It has been wonderful to see her grow
and develop in such a nurturing and interesting environment. She talks endlessly about her friends and the activities she has been trying and she found the yoga really beneficial throughout lockdown, even teaching Mummy and Daddy some poses.
Throughout the whole pandemic, Little Tots had kept us very well informed and has felt really safe but not clinical.
We are updated regularly on everything happening throughout the day and it says it all when our little one skips in happily each morning and then comes out tired but smiling and talking about the fun she has had at the end of the day.

My three daughters have all attended Little Tots nursery.
I visited several nurseries in and out of Reading before I chose them with my husband and I never regretted it.
I am now myself training as an Early Years Teacher at University and with even further insight in this very challenging job, I can
appreciate once more the dedication and competence of Little Tots Staff.
I am sure there are nurseries with bigger outdoor spaces or maybe better facilities, but as a parent, and now as an EY professional in the making, I am deeply convinced that what makes the difference are the people and the relationships created in a setting and when it comes to this Little Tots has no competition.
For us, they have become family and this has been so beneficial to my girls on so many levels that I can't begin to express my gratitude to all the lovely educators and carers who every day dedicate themselves fully to the wellbeing of the little ones and really manage to support them in their learning.

We are more than happy with Little Tots as my son has settled in really well. He seems very happy when we come and collect him. Since attending Little Tots my son has developed a lot, the nursery offers loads of activities loved by all children. He is having lots of fun with the other children.
The
staff are friendly, they work hard and really care about children. I am happy to know that every day I leave my son in their capable hands. They do a great job! Well done!
