Like most parents, I was a bit worried about going back to work and leaving my 8-month-old son in nursery but I didn't need to be! I have been really pleased with the level of care and attention my son has received while at Ashbourne. He is always delighted to attend and clearly loves the staff who
have been wonderful in making him welcome and helping him to settle in.

They really engage with the children and it is obvious that the children's welfare and happiness is of paramount importance to them. There is also a range of activities on offer and there doesn't seem to be ever a dull moment! My son particularly enjoys the musical activities! Thank you for the wonderful care you have given my son so far :)

Our son has been happy from day one, thanks to the staff who have bene welcoming. The room is big, lots of different activities and various learning activities. We like the outdoor activities and healthier eating (compared to other places). Improvements might be needed to protect children's clothes
when painting as our son always has dirty clothes when picked up. Implementing key fob to get into the nursery, as sometimes unfriendly parents shut the door at you because they believe you should ring the bell by yourself and get recognised by the staff. Not happy about that.

Thankyou Betina. As you know we actively encourage messy play at our nursery, whilst every child is provided with appropriate protection this can sometimes prove difficult keeping this on a small…read more

My child has her ups and downs with this nursery, some days she likes it, other days she doesn't - I never had this problem with my oldest who went to a different nursery. The nursery itself appears to be clean and most of the time the children look happy and well cared for. Considering there are 20-
30 children in my daughters class I'm amazed that the staff can reel off that my daughter has "eaten everything" and slept for an hour and a half without looking at their logs. Clearly, their memories are better than mine. All that being said, I've seen worse and my little one is doing ok there. The garden is small but they've done a nice job of it, the parking is a nightmare (not the nurseries fault) and getting into the building can be frustrating, especially when you eventually get in and discover the staff just "couldn't be bothered" to get the door. Average nursery for the price. Some of the staff are amazing, others need more training on how to talk to adults.

I love Ashbourne Day Nursery, staff are really nice and they take care of my son with so much love.
My son really enjoys to go to the nursery and he has lots of different activities there. They play in the garden, listen to music, dance, eat different food every day and have different toys to entertain
themselves.

My daughter has been at the Ashbourne Day Nurseries for a couple of months. My daughter is much more confident about herself and is doing a lot of things now that she did not use to do such as painting, singing, counting, eating by herself, drinking, playing etc.
The nursery staff are amazing. They
always take care of the children and do a lot of activities, some of which the parents can join in with their kids.
I just want to give my thanks to all the nursery staff for their amazing job, I recommend this nursery to everyone who wants to feel comfortable to leave your child in the nursery because you will be sure they are going to have a good time.

A warm and welcoming staff who are all very helpful in assisting me with my newborn and my 1-year-old! My child seems very happy to be at this nursery and willingly goes to the ladies in the baby room. The staff in there are always happy, polite and positive and give me time and attention. They are
very personable. I am regularly sent photos of my child along with an observation and which EYFS objective he is demonstrating. Staff are quick to reply to emails and are very accommodating with requests.

My experience so far has been great. The care provided by the nursery is top quality. My son has really flourished being at Ashbourne and any criticism I've had, they have taken on board and made changes. I'd recommend them to everyone I know.

Our 2.5 year old loves Ashbourne Day Nursery. She started at 3 months old in the baby room and has progressed through to the toddler room. The staff are so lovely and so flexible we have changed her days quite a lot over the last 6 months and they are so accommodating. She really enjoys going and I
love that I don't have to do messy play at home! We all love it there so much that when we moved house we looked at other nurseries but decided to stay here, despite it being the other side of town.

My 3 year old enjoys coming to the nursery. She is now in the pre-school room which she enjoys even more. The food is cooked fresh in the nursery and is well balanced for the kids. The menu is always on display as well as a chart showing how much my child has eaten. The staff are energetic, fun and
have a positive relationship with the kids. I have seen a massive development in her writing/mark making. The staff always make sure the kids have fresh air and get involved with their outdoor play. The outdoor facilities are improving and exciting new things being added each term. Great communication with parents and excellent management. An added bonus are the organised trips out and "Theatre bugs" visits which my child loves. The nursery has a lovely library and book department. I also love the multi-cultural days.

We are very happy with the staff. They are very kind and very friendly. For one of my children this new routine wasn't OK and the staff helped us a lot to make that moment easier. The food is OK and my children like it but they have sometimes same desserts with a lots of sugar like chocolate pudding.
The sugar is not healthy and someday they have more than it's recommended. The brunch nappy is not really good.

Nursery recently took the children on a trip to the farm which my daughter loved. The nursery also held a tea party for Mother's Day and made some very special cards. It was delightful to visit the nursery for longer than just drop off and pick up. The children were all enjoying a story when I arrived,
all sitting very engaged, and then enjoyed some songs and dancing. Well done on making such a pleasant visit for mums.

We are very satisfied with the Ashbourne Day Nursery. Very caring and friendly staff at nursery makes us feel secured while at work leaving our little one in their hands. Our son absolutely adores them all. They do several activities throughout the week which helps my son's overall growth.

My son has attended this nursery since he was 8 months old and right from the start I felt comfortable and at ease leaving him at the nursery. The environment is clean, the staff are warm and professional and he looks like he is well cared for. He enjoys coming to Ashbourne and even asks to be taken
to preschool on a weekend. He also enjoys the food and has formed a nice relationships with both friends and his teachers. Ashbourne is a fantastic nursery.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.174)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.174) out of 10 for Ashbourne Day Nurseries at Oxley Park is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Ashbourne Day Nurseries at Oxley Park is calculated as follows: ( (96 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.174 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashbourne Day Nurseries at Oxley Park is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 107 number of registered child places is 21.4. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 21.4 = 0.374
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
