Ashbourne Day Nurseries in Dagenham pride themselves on the personal approach that staff have with parents and children alike. They create a close relationship with children, parents and carers so they all feel welcome.
The nursery has a homely feel to the building which helps with the first days of children settling in. Sitting in the middle of 0.3 acres, the nursery has four main rooms to cater for children from birth to five years of age; babies, one-to-twos, toddlers and a pre-school room.
In two of the rooms, the nursery has a sensory area (colourful interactive motion lighting and mirrors), which all children enjoy and is especially interesting for those with special educational needs (SEN).
In all of the rooms, to encourage and promote the use of independence, the resources are stored at a low level for children’s easy access. Furthermore, all the rooms also have dedicated areas for nappy changing or toilets, depending on age. Educationally, the nursery offers a wide range of activities to individuality support all the children.
The nursery has a large outdoor garden area, equipped with a large climbing frame, large playhouses, and a dedicated sheltered and reading area, as well as lots of climbing equipment.
When setting out the garden for the day, staff ensure that all the learning opportunities provided inside are fully promoted and easily accessed in the garden.
The pre-school room has large double French doors, that give direct access (and a nice view) to the garden, so free flow access to outdoors is fully encouraged, a greatly appreciated bonus for children with lots of energy.

Overall Experience
The nursery has been a Godsend, they have helped my daughter develop into an amazing child. She has come on really well and become a confident child. They are all very welcoming, friendly and always happy to help. My child enjoys her days and is always smiling and excited to go into the nursery.

The nursery is an excellent place for kids to be. Since my daughter joined them, I have been impressed with her toilet training, speech and the way she paints.

This nursery and it's staff are outstanding. Our child is so happy here. He has developed significantly since starting here. We as parents have now worries and are extremely happy and would recommend to anyone.

Having removed our son from another nursery in the local area due to unease with the level of care being provided, we have been delighted with our experience at Play and Learn Nursery. Our son has become more confident since he started there and the staff show a genuine interest in the children's learning and development. They take the time to provide us with feedback on the time that our son has spent with them, which is reassuring as he is not yet at an age where he can fully communicate about his activities or any concerns. The staff have worked with us to manage any specific care requirements that we have, which has been greatly appreciated.
Whenever we arrive to collect our son all of the children seem vibrant and content. We would highly recommend this nursery.

Friendly, settling atmosphere greeted with a smile. I am extremely happy and over the moon my child's development at the nursery as he has difficulty with numbers. Staff loving and caring. Only child. Extreme compassion towards him. Did not take long to settle.
