My 2-year-old has been attending Bright Horizons, Whetstone for over one year now. I am really pleased with how he has settled and the progress he has made. He absolutely loves his key worker, who he says is his best friend. Will be sad when he moves to another room.
Practitioners are passionate about their jobs and are a good mix of kind yet firm. Our two went from August to December when the East Barnet branch closed temporarily and both were made to feel welcome and were happy there, especially my youngest. The manager and deputy manager are friendly, professional, and efficient which helped the transition run smoothly. Only criticism (because we were spoilt before) is the lack of outdoor green space, but children did enjoy going to the roof garden.
My daughter has joined this nursery last year and ever since has been an amazing journey. She keeps coming home happy and joyful and always talks about her teachers and fellow kids at the nursery. I can tell that she is pleased to be there and this makes me feel relaxed and comfortable, knowing that she is having a great time. I would like to thank everyone involved in the process of running this place so smoothly and looking after our children.
Bright Horizons Whetstone has looked after both our boys. The younger one is currently still there. The nursery has the most friendly and loving staff. Our children bonded with them very strongly and loved every minute of their time there at the nursery. Our older one is now in reception year but still talks about his nursery time very fondly and often recalls things he’s told by various staff. The whole place is warm and welcoming for kids and parents alike. It is a superb place for children and you know they will be well looked after and happy there.
Amazing staff members. My little one needed some extra help with speech and communication and the nursery arranged for one to one sessions regularly. They set up a plan and followed it through. I got more help from them than the publicly funded healthcare system.
Our daughter goes into nursery happy and this is the most important factor for us. It has been difficult to question how much or what is going on during the day. We have got two or three updates on the app over the last six months. It is a shame that Kangaroo Kids and the music teacher were cancelled as the kids loved these. The rooftop is very small but could be used better, there used to be a slide which broke but hasn't been replaced in over a year. Feedback on the daily forms is generic. Turnover of staff seems high and your children need consistency of care givers to feel safe.
Kind Regards.
My daughter has thrived since attending Bright Horizons Whetstone Day Nursery and Preschool. Despite being brought-up as a 'lockdown baby' and not seeing many people outside of our home for most of her life, our daughter has thrived at Bright Horizons Whetstone Day Nursery. Even with the challenges of parents being unable to access the building during Covid-19, the kids all seem very settled and the staff have been fantastic. A great place for your children to thrive.
We are very pleased with the nursery. Our daughter loves going to nursery and chats about her day and who she's played with every day! The staff have gone above and beyond to reassure us and keep some normality in a really difficult time. Thank you Bright Horizons Whetstone!
I have been very happy with the nursery sending both kids there from a very young age (9 months). The staff are friendly, caring, energetic and very positive which makes for a great environment in which children can thrive. The range of activities is impressive with lots of diversification in celebrating key occasions across all religions and faiths.
In the return to nursery from lockdown we have felt absolute confidence in the staff and the measures they have taken.
Lovely local nursery run by well experienced and friendly management and works. They use their finite space very well. Daily updates and semi-regular online updates of activities. The staff have been brilliant at helping our child settle in so easily.
I am extremely happy and content with my child being at this nursery. We have had a great experience with all of the management staff and carers. The staff managed to settle our child in immediately, despite us having to enrol him during the lockdown which meant we could not enter the premises to settle him the usual way. He was only 18 months at the time of enrolment so we were very concerned but we are very thankful for the love and care shown to him. Now he is almost 2 years old and loves going to nursery.
My wife and I began our search for a suitable nursery in the Autumn of 2019 when our son was 12 months old. We viewed a number of nurseries in the local area but were immediately drawn to Bright Horizons Whetstone. The facilities are excellent, the rooms are very clean. The staff are extremely friendly, professional and experienced. The kids' meals are well varied, balanced and well thought out. The daily activities are educational, fun and engaging. As well as having an outside roof garden, the children are also taken to the local park when the weather is pleasant. We are given a daily report explaining what meals were served, what activities were undertaken, how much and when nap time took place and how many times his nappy was changed. Our son is now 24 months and attends full time. He absolutely loves going to see his favourite carers and friends. We cannot recommend Bright Horizons Whetstone enough.
All 3 of my children have attended Bright Horizons (formerly Magic Nursery) over the last 5 years, and I couldn’t recommend them more! My youngest child has just started there at 11 months old and is a proper Lockdown baby where she knows no-one apart from our family. I was concerned about how she would adapt, but the nursery has been fantastic at settling her slowly in, and she is very happy there. My 3-year-old is also there and has been attending the nursery full time since 10 months old - she is developing very well and is very happy there. My eldest has just left and is now in reception - again she attended full time since she was 10 months. The key workers are excellent, very nurturing, attentive, and have helped develop my children into well-rounded smart and happy kids. The nursery has taken COVID-19 extremely seriously and I feel my children have been very well looked after in a safe environment, especially in these uncertain times. I highly recommend Bright Horizons.
The staff are so caring and attentive, and my daughter absolutely adores them, especially her key workers whom she has close contact with.
Both the manager and deputy manager are so helpful with every aspect of putting us as parents at ease. The nursery communication is absolutely fantastic, and everything is so well run.
We would highly recommend Magic Nursery Whetstone. Our son was there from 8months to 2 years 9months and we saw him learn, develop and thrive. The team there are very caring and supportive. It is a small nursery which we wanted and loved. Everyone knows each other. They are approachable and welcome parent feedback. Our son loved attending and would get excited about going there in the mornings.
My son had a fabulous two plus years at Magic Nursery in Whetstone. He bounced in happily every day, welcomed by warm, caring staff - he still tells me now that his best friends are three members of staff at the nursery!
The staff always communicated well with me and I felt happy and secure leaving my son in their care while I was at work.
Thank you for helping develop my son into the happy, confident child he is now.
Excellent care and support for my son who has special needs. Professional and dedicated staff and always with a smile on their faces.
We had a difficult time coping while our daughter was in nursery. All the staff and management at Magic Whetstone were very kind and helpful supporting us. I can never be thankful enough for the time they gave us.

Meet the Team (2)
From a young age, Nicole has always had a passion for early years education. Her childcare journey began in 2008 as a student assistant, progressing to nursery assistant soon after.
Nicole joined Bright Horizons in February 2012 at the Southgate Nursery, where she worked as a nursery nurse for nearly a year before becoming a room leader — a role she proudly held for five years. She later advanced to third in charge, and in 2020 became the Deputy Manager at Bright Horizons Whetstone Nursery.
Having fallen in love with Whetstone’s warm and nurturing environment, Nicole was delighted to step into the role of Nursery Manager in April 2024.
She wholeheartedly embraces the Bright Horizons mission and finds nothing more rewarding than watching children grow, learn and reach their full potential during their time at the nursery.
Irene’s journey in education began in 2013 when she started her degree to become a Primary School Teacher in Spain. In 2018, she moved to London, where she continued working as an Early Years Teacher across multiple nurseries and schools.
In 2022, Irene joined Bright Horizons in Whetstone as the Preschool Room Leader. She later progressed to Third in Charge and SENCo, and in 2025, she stepped into the position of Deputy Manager.
Irene’s main objectives are to ensure that all children are given the best possible start in life, to support their development, and to provide a strong, nurturing partnership with families and the team.
