Ladybird Nursery - Beckenham is a family-run day nursery providing childcare for children aged three months to five years.

The nursery has been in operation for more than 30 years and has a team of staff with a wide range of skills and experience, ensuring children are provided with the best care and education.

Ladybird Nursery - Beckenham is located across two floors within an Edwardian house. The Baby Room is situated on the first floor, whilst children aged two to five years are based in two large open-plan rooms on the ground floor.

During their time at the nursery, children have access to a spacious playground featuring a soft play area and a range of outdoor toys.

All three of my children have attended Ladybird and been very happy there. It offers a wide range of activities and experiences-trips out and integrating with the local community. They are always doing something fun and educational. The staff genuinely love the children and this shines through. Ladybird
is a warm, nurturing environment filled with love and laughter. We will miss it!

All three of my children have attended Ladybirds's nursery over the last 8 years.
The staff are brilliant, thoughtful and interactive with lots of fun activities.
They take care of each childs individual needs and have gone out of their way to accommodate the children in their care.
It is a fun
learning environment - they have extra activities such as Spanish classes and mini athletics which the children enjoy and lots of celebratory events and special occasions.
I would not hesitate in recommending this nursery. The facilities are good - the outdoor space is great and they use this a lot, and the food is prepared and cooked fresh each day by their own chef who is fantastic.
The management and deputy management is supportive, it has been a welcoming environment for all of my children returning to read to the younger kids after they have left. It has been a huge positive part of our children's personal growth.,

My son has been at ladybird since September 2022 and will leave in august 2025. I cannot rate them highly enough. All the staff are brilliant and welcome the children every morning with warmth and care. My son has required some extra support in a couple of areas and ladybird have been fantastic in putting
activities in place to support, aswell as regular communications with us.
The relatively small size of the nursery provides a genuinely family feel. We have been lucky to have them for the last three years.

As my eldest transitions to "big school" this Sept 2025, I'm reflecting on our incredible 3.5 years at Ladybird. From day one, the staff's kindness, compassion, and competency impressed us. Our children have gained so much: friendship, creativity, athletics, language, music, phonics, numeracy, manners,
and bright attitudes. I credit the nursery with immense progress.
The staff's genuine care is evident; they've truly helped us navigate parenting unknowns. Their support and the peace of mind they provide are invaluable. My son is school-ready, and we're thrilled my daughter remains part of the Ladybird family. Thank you, Ladybird!

Ladybirds Beckenham is incredible. My son started in Oct '21 and will leave in August '25 and from beginning to end I have nothing but praise for all of the staff. From before joining they have gone above and beyond to deal with my son's complex allergies whilst making him feel included in whatever
the other children are eating. Their chef and staff have managed to deal with it at every stage and been excellent. The staff are caring, fun, focused and creative - my son will leave being able to write his letters and basic words and read pushing on for level 3 books and that's a reflection of how fun they make learning. Their days are enriched by extra learning such as Spanish, athletics, visits from a zoo and trips out and about. Parents are always welcome to join in and share cultures / heritage. Class sizes are a great smaller size making it easy for children and parents to get to know one another!

We've been with Ladybird Nursery for 6 years total with my 2 children and we've had a fantastic experience with them. My kids absolutely loved coming to nursery every day, they enjoyed the activities, made friends and bonded with their teachers. The staff have been so lovely and attentive to the kids,
I have nothing but praise for them. During Covid, they went above and beyond to look after the kids according to health and safety guidelines. The kids were well prepared for school and still say how much they miss nursery. I am grateful to the staff for making this journey so enjoyable for my kids.

We loved our time at Ladybird and we're very sad to leave, due to relocation. Our daughter started there at 14 months and was welcomed warmly, and made to feel comfortable, safe and very entertained!
The team have always taken very good care of her, and we've been thrilled to see all the activities
and games she played. We quickly saw a real progression in her language and skills, and she developed her first little friendships, which was lovely to see.
There has been staff turnover during our 9 months at the nursery, which I think is to be expected, but she made quick bonds with incoming staff, and two staff members, in particular, were there throughout and were absolutely fantastic.

Our little one has been attending Ladybird Nursery since 7 months until the end of her time in preschool. I couldn't have been more happy with the care and attention from the carers. They are so knowledgeable about children and loved the kids. Even graduating from baby to toddler and preschool room
- all the teachers know all the kids as all rooms do interact and play. There were different activities going on between the sports teacher, music time, yoga, Spanish classes. We saw huge leaps in her development not only when she started but also as she interacted with older kids. She was running in to play! Additionally, I found management were very helpful with parents and we found some carers were open to babysitting (albeit it is arranged outside Ladybird). We were so lucky to have found Ladybird to be a wonderful fit for our little one!

My child has attended this nursery since December 2020. From day one the staff made her feel happy and safe. All the team care so much for the children they look after and the nursery has a warm family feel. She's grown in confidence since attending. She will start school ready with all the solid foundations

We had a really great experience despite signing our daughter in, in the middle of lockdown and covid restrictions. Paula showed us around via zoom and was very helpful over the call with all of our questions. The two years my daughter attended we could see her development, she loved going in, she was
always talking about her friends and the staff were here best friend too. She was well taken care of and loved. The staff always made sure there is something special going on let it be sports day, mother or fathers days, Christmas or a Childs Birthday. We couldn't have chosen a better nursery for our little one. We will be forever grateful for the amazing start she had in the nursery.

My daughter spent around a year at Ladybird Beckenham, joining straight into the pre-school group. The staff we amazing in supporting her transition from home to nursery. They supported both her and us, as slightly anxious parents, through the whole process. Once settled, she absolutely loved the nursery
she developed immensely in her time there. The whole team were fantastic, the activities for the kids were engaging and educational. Can't recommend it more highly!

Both our children had a fantastic experience with Ladybird Beckenham. The staff are brilliant and really caring, the kids love them. The nursery provides a good range of activities and the children have left well-prepared for school. They frequently take the children on small trips out to the park or
nearby places, and occasionally have activities come into the nursery. The nursery has always been very supportive and has been a lovely setting for our kids.

I highly recommend Ladybird Nursery. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The facilities are well-maintained and designed to foster a safe and creative learning environment. The communication and photos I received every day about my child’s progress were amazing.
It’s evident that the staff takes the time to understand each child’s strengths and areas for growth. The most caring and nurturing nursery/preschool in Beckenham! Both of our daughters have attended this nursery from 12 months old to school starting, so we have been connected to the nursery for over 8 years. It has changed a lot during that time with improved outdoor space, refurbishments, and some
changes in staff but many things have remained consistent throughout. The core staff are long-serving and adore their job. This is evident from the love, care, and attention they give to each and every child. The focus in each room is spot on for your child’s development and both of my daughters have really enjoyed their time here. The preparation for school are fun, gradual, and consistent, and the weekly outings are always a huge hit! Many parents do not want to leave their beloved children in anyone’s care whilst they have to go to work, but the Ladybird Nursery feels like a safe, loving family. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Our child has been so happy at the Ladybird Nursery in Beckenham. The team managed her integration into the baby room expertly. She really didn’t want to leave us and go to nursery in the first few weeks (as is quite normal), but after a short while she grew to like it and now she absolutely loves it.
Every time I pick her up or drop her off I can tell that the Ladybird Nursery is a very positive place for her to be (they’re always doing lots of activities which vary from day to day). Our daughter has a lot of affection for her key workers (she talks about them a lot at home). She has really developed a great deal over the past year and the nursery has played a big part in that.

My daughter attended Ladybird for eighteen months after moving from overseas, until she went to school this week. She absolutely loved her time at the nursery and was in both the toddler rooms and subsequently pre-school. The staff are so caring and go above and beyond. My daughter formed strong bonds
with the staff in the room and she really misses them. The facilities are great and they are always bringing home pictures and projects that they have made at the nursery. She is definitely school ready as a result of being at the nursery. My daughter and I have made great friends at this nursery and will miss it!

We have used Ladybird since 2017, for our daughter from age 1 until she moved on to school, and for our son from age 1-2.5y. Due to a recent house move, we reluctantly decided to move our son to a nursery that is closer to our new home, but it was a difficult decision as he was very happy and settled
at Ladybird. Both our children thrived at the nursery and formed close bonds with the members of staff. As parents, we also enjoyed a good relationship with the staff, who we found to be very helpful and supportive. The nursery provided a great environment to prepare our children for school/pre-school and generally to help them grow in confidence. There is lots of messy play, outdoor learning, celebrating different festivals, extracurricular activities such as yoga and football, and child-led play. It is quite a small nursery, which we liked, as the staff (including the wonderful manager) know all the children well, regardless of which room they usually work in. Highly recommend.

My son attended Ladybird Nursery, Beckenham from the age of 12 months until he went to school aged 4. He has been really happy at the nursery at every stage and staff have supported both him and us throughout his time there. The facilities at the nursery are great with a range of activities that the
children can do with plenty of time spent in the outdoor space. The preschool class has really helped prepare him for all the skills he needed to start school and the children were encouraged to bring in books and talk to the class about their family and interests. All the staff take a keen interest in the children's care and development and maintain really good communication with parents. My son has made some great friends at this nursery and I would recommend Ladybird to anyone looking for childcare.
