Good overall experience. Continuous improvement will make it excellent. The management is very approachable and strives to build strong relationships with parents and pupils alike. Very flexible approach was demonstrated during the first lockdown - thank you for your support.

The woodpecker's team have great energy and warmth that makes it feel like a family whenever we have touchpoints as parents.
Our child always seems to be having fun with lots of creative activity and never has a bad day or a day when they don't want to go. Our child also has a close bond with her
key person which is important.
The management team there are also very supportive and have great communication with the parents.
Fabulous team all round.

Dicky Birds Nursery Dundonald Road is a wonderful nursery and I would highly recommend it. My son loved going there and all the staff we’re very friendly and caring, the manager is so warm and the teacher in the Puffins room is fantastic and great at teaching and interacting with the children. My son
attended since he was a baby and the only reason we left was to move to another area, but we were so sad to leave! Food was great and healthy and being next to the park as well as having a good and entertaining garden were real positives.

Our son has been at Dicky Birds since he was 12 months old and has thrived at the nursery. The staff are all very welcoming and caring and give the children the support they need to develop. They offer a well-rounded experience, with a good mix of different activities. The team and management are also
always available to discuss things. We've also been very happy with the meals offered at the nursery, enough to fill up an active 3-year-old!

My 4-year-old and 2-year-old have attended Dicky Birds Dundonald since they were babies and they have had such a wonderful experience. They are always happy to go, the staff are so caring and attentive and they have made great friends. They are fed well and come home having done lots of fun activities,
can't fault it. Would recommend, thank you.

My oldest had attended Dicky Birds for nearly 3 years since he was 9 months old. He went through all three rooms from ducklings to woodpeckers. I’ll be honest I found the administration of the waiting list had room for improvement but once he was there being cared for he was a very happy little boy.
Not only do the nursery care for they also educate the children to a high standard. They have PE in the park, take trips to the library, they keep the children very engaged. The communication with parents is very good and managers are approachable. We struggled a little when the pandemic struck to continue the interactions to find out how our child was getting on but the nursery worked with us setting up zooms to make sure we knew about our child's progress. We only left because we moved home, we’d highly recommend Dicky Birds.

The nursery has been very friendly, accessible, flexible and transparent about the daily program. They have a good mix of activities and play that are both fun and educational. They did a good job of gently guiding our child (who had a nanny in the years before) into the daily nursery. Our child likes
the teachers and has found a lot of friends. Overall highly recommended.

My son has been so well cared for at Dicky Birds Dundonald Road throughout the time he's attended (3.5 months to current age of 3.5 years). He's been encouraged and stretched in all the different rooms/levels, and has really enjoyed the relationships he has both with staff and with other children. I
have been really impressed with Dicky Birds' communications and relationship management with parents, as well as all the family/community events they have arranged (pre-Covid).

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.769 for Dicky Birds Day Nursery and Preschool Wimbledon, Dundonald Road is calculated as follows: ( (84 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 104 Ratings = 4.769
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.718 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Dicky Birds Day Nursery and Preschool Wimbledon, Dundonald Road is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 55 number of registered child places is 11. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 11 = 0.818
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
