My son has been so happy at this nursery over the past year. The staff are kind, clearly love the children and are incredibly creative and fun. I feel he is in very safe hands at Dicky Birds and would highly recommend this nursery to anyone.

Staff go the extra mile to ensure children are comfortable in the nursery setting once they join the nursery. As a new parent, I was extremely worried about my girl feeling good in the nursery, and I am impressed by how understanding and supporting the staff have been. Overall, we are happy we choose Dicky Birds, Dundonald Road.

I’ve had both my kids at Dicky Birds, so they are like family. The staff are attentive, and the kids thrive in the environment. Kids love/d going to nursery, and they seem to just have so much fun! From a learning perspective, they follow the standard curriculum, so no complaints there.

We just moved and we heard a lot of good things about the nursery from parents and neighbours and decided to send my son to this nursery. I love that they have very flexible and long settling sessions which is just perfect for my son’s personality. Carers are extremely caring.

I’m also very impressed with the amount of different activities they do. Overall I’m very happy and wish I knew about it earlier.

I think it's a testament to how lovely the staff at the nursery is when my daughter is happy to go into the nursery despite otherwise being very clingy to me. The staff (especially her key person) is enthusiastic and caring, and I appreciate that the staff accommodate our request to manage her eczema while at nursery. The kids have plenty of activities indoors and in their garden, and also occasionally take the kids (under 2 group) out to the park across the road. I also love that most of the time when I drop my child to nursery there is singing and reading going on. I also enjoy the daily verbal updates during pick up and end of the week photo updates. I initially thought the sleeping room was quite small and was worried that my daughter wouldn't nap well, however, was pleased to find out that she is able to nap for hours so am happy it's no longer a concern. I would definitely recommend this nursery! Thank you.

From nearly a year ago when we started the settling in process for our shy baby, to now watching her happily playing when we come to collect her each day, the staff have always been so positive and supportive. We look forward to hearing all the different songs she learns there when she comes home, and it's great to see photos and descriptions online of what she's been up to - my only negative would be that we'd always like to see more photos and videos of her day, but that's more a reflection of us as parents than the nursery!

Wonderful nursery with extremely caring staff and an amazing variety of activities for the kids. Incredibly creative play and well structured day, lots of fun seasonal activities. The food is excellent and the facilities really good. My four year old loves it.

The woodpecker's team have great energy and warmth that makes it feel like a family whenever we have touchpoints as parents.
Our child always seems to be having fun with lots of creative activity and never has a bad day or a day when they don't want to go. Our child also has a close bond with her key person which is important.
The management team there are also very supportive and have great communication with the parents.

Fabulous team all round.

Dicky Birds Nursery Dundonald Road is a wonderful nursery and I would highly recommend it. My son loved going there and all the staff we’re very friendly and caring, the manager is so warm and the teacher in the Puffins room is fantastic and great at teaching and interacting with the children. My son attended since he was a baby and the only reason we left was to move to another area, but we were so sad to leave! Food was great and healthy and being next to the park as well as having a good and entertaining garden were real positives.

Our son has been at Dicky Birds since he was 12 months old and has thrived at the nursery. The staff are all very welcoming and caring and give the children the support they need to develop. They offer a well-rounded experience, with a good mix of different activities. The team and management are also always available to discuss things. We've also been very happy with the meals offered at the nursery, enough to fill up an active 3-year-old!

My oldest had attended Dicky Birds for nearly 3 years since he was 9 months old. He went through all three rooms from ducklings to woodpeckers. I’ll be honest I found the administration of the waiting list had room for improvement but once he was there being cared for he was a very happy little boy. Not only do the nursery care for they also educate the children to a high standard. They have PE in the park, take trips to the library, they keep the children very engaged. The communication with parents is very good and managers are approachable. We struggled a little when the pandemic struck to continue the interactions to find out how our child was getting on but the nursery worked with us setting up zooms to make sure we knew about our child's progress. We only left because we moved home, we’d highly recommend Dicky Birds.

The nursery has been very friendly, accessible, flexible and transparent about the daily program. They have a good mix of activities and play that are both fun and educational. They did a good job of gently guiding our child (who had a nanny in the years before) into the daily nursery. Our child likes the teachers and has found a lot of friends. Overall highly recommended.

My son has been so well cared for at Dicky Birds Dundonald Road throughout the time he's attended (3.5 months to current age of 3.5 years). He's been encouraged and stretched in all the different rooms/levels, and has really enjoyed the relationships he has both with staff and with other children. I have been really impressed with Dicky Birds' communications and relationship management with parents, as well as all the family/community events they have arranged (pre-Covid).
