In the heart of Belvedere, Chestnut Tree Day Nursery is an established, independent setting that cares for up to 60 children aged 3 months to five years. Children are cared for in three age-based rooms, so each stage of early childhood has a space designed around it. The Babies room (0–2) can take up to 16 babies, the Tots room (2–3) up to 20 toddlers, and the Pre-School room (3–5) up to 24 children.
Learning follows the Early Years Foundation Stage, with each child’s progress recorded in an online learning journal using the Tapestry app, enabling families to view photos, observations, and milestones. Safeguarding is led by a designated lead within the team, and policies are reviewed regularly to keep pace with current guidance.
The nursery opens from 7:30am to 6:00pm, 50 weeks of the year, providing families with flexible options to accommodate longer working days. Alongside full days, families may select school-day hours or morning and afternoon sessions, allowing flexible scheduling to fit around work and family commitments. Government-funded early education hours are accepted for eligible children.

The staff have been incredible-supportive, welcoming, and attentive to our needs-making her transition smooth and comfortable. She has bonded wonderfully with the team and is thriving in her learning and development. The nursery makes excellent use of their space and always has engaging activities and themed days. Our daughter proudly comes home with her artwork, and we couldn't be happier with the care she receives. Highly recommended!

Our daughter has been attending Chestnuts since August 2024 and she really has excelled being here. Chestnuts is great throughout the whole system. The staff are attentive and work hard to create strong bonds with the children. The management are always open to listening to parents and providing information when necessary too. Our daughter specifically takes time to settle and develop those bonds with people. The staff at Chestnuts have always given her the space and time to do it her way and supported her in every way to achieve that goal. I am very pleased to say she is now comfortable and that is due to the time and effort from those within the nursery. As a parent it is very important to know and feel comfortable with those looking after your children away from home and I can definitely say we feel that with Chestnuts :)

I love this nursery because the manager and staff love the children and staff support the children to meet their needs which I find very impressive. My daughter started attending this nursery when she was 10 months old and she turned 3 years a few weeks ago It has been an incredible journey so far, choosing Chestnut is the best decision I made. My daughter is always looking forward to her next day at the nursery, she enjoys every moment there. The entire staff are so friendly, supportive and approachable. The nursery is neat, organised and spacious. During her early days at the nursery, I was a bit worried on how a 10 months baby will cope but the regular updates ( notes and pictures) on the portal gave me peace of mind and kept me reassured. If need be, the staff are always on their toes to give me a call in case of any concerns. My daughter feels so comfortable at the nursery and she has developed so quickly. I just want to use this opportunity to say a big thank you to Charlie and her super team. I am grateful and appreciate your hard work.

The staff are incredibly caring and attentive to all the children, ensuring each one feels valued and safe. My child has flourished immensely, starting from not even crawling (8months old) to now running around with confidence and joy. It's evident that the children are taught with love and compassion, as they show kindness for one another. The freshly made food on the premises is an added bonus, ensuring the children receive nutritious meals. Additionally, the prompt updates about my child's progress have been greatly appreciated. My son started at this nursery when he was 10 months old and I was incredibly hesitant about beginning this journey. However, the staff were so reassuring during his settling-in period, which made a big difference. Once my son became familiar with the staff and the environment, he quickly grew happy and comfortable here.
The updates/ communication throughout the day is fantastic. For me, this has been incredibly important and is one of the main reasons I truly appreciate this nursery.
In fact, I removed my son from the waitlist of my original first-choice nursery after seeing how settled and happy he was here. That decision should speak volumes about the quality of care and environment provided at Chestnut.

My daughter has been attending Chestnut Tree since last year (March); she started in the tot's room, and she has received the best care. The staff are kind, caring and supportive - they do lovely activities to stimulate effective learning. My daughter has learnt so many new skills; they even supported her with potty training too, so can’t fault the care in any way. Me and my husband are glad we chose Chestnut for our little girl. I’ve also recommended this nursery to my brother, so five stars from us.

Our daughter started with Chestnut Tree Day Nursery three months ago and she loves it! As our first child, we didn't know what to expect from a nursery but the staff have been nothing but welcoming to us and to our baby especially. The amount of activities they do with her is brilliant - she is always bringing home pictures and paintings and knows all of the actions to the nursery rhymes. Would definitely recommend them.

My daughter started attending Chestnut Tree Day Nursery in April 2023 and I couldn't be happier with our choice. The staff are all friendly, approachable and you can see that the children really do love them too. I am kept informed during the day with photos, when she is sleeping and get a daily note each day outlining the activities that she has been doing.
My little one actually squeals when she sees where we are going in the morning, and you can't ask for more reassurance than that!

My son started going to Chestnut Tree just after his first birthday. I was very nervous at first as English is not our first language and he did not walk at the time, but the staff has been absolutely amazing. He absolutely loves the nursery and his general motor skills, speech, social skills and understanding of English have developed and/or improved significantly. He has friends to play with, loves the activities organised in the Tinies room and comes back home very happy on a daily basis.
If you are nervous to get your little one started at a nursery, do yourself and themselves a favour and sign them up in the Chestnut Tree nursery, because the staff are absolutely amazing. I can see teachers holding and soothing kids on a daily basis so you can be sure that if your little one is upset, they will be physically held by a teacher and soothed.

We absolutely love this nursery! The staff are so friendly and welcoming, they're always smiling! Both my sons are attending here and are so happy from the minute they get in. They enjoy the activities and food. My 2 year old loves the snacks and lunches they provide. Thank you so so much for the kindness and for always going the extra mile. The manager has always been so understanding when I've had personal issues and supported us in any way possible. I would highly recommend this nursery after trying many others. My kids always come out with clean faces, full tummies and tired from all the different daily activities. A big thanks to all

Overall Experience
My daughter has been attending this nursery since August 2022 and is in the baby room. From the moment I came to view it, I felt the warmth that radiates from this nursery. One member of staff is great, and you can see how much she cares for the children; she is always there if you have any queries...
My daughter has been attending this nursery since August 2022 and is in the baby room. From the moment I came to view it, I felt the warmth that radiates from this nursery. One member of staff is great, and you can see how much she cares for the children; she is always there if you have any queries or concerns and will always act on anything you ask for care-wise. My daughter's key person is lovely and caring, and I can see my daughter has a good relationship with her. There are also other staff members I see that are always friendly and helpful. The staff are a good reflection of the management and the company itself. I love the app, as I can see what she's up to all day, which is lovely. So happy my daughter is happy, and I would highly recommend this nursery.

I became the owner of Chestnut Tree Day Nursery in October 2026. A local Londoner and as a new Dad myself, I understand how much trust parents place in finding the right nursery. I'm committed to building on the amazing qualities of what already makes Chestnut Tree such a special place for children and families.
I work very closely with our Nursery Manager, Charlie Perry, and the wider team, with a focus on supporting staff, investing in the setting and keeping families and the children at the heart of every decision. I'm always happy to chat with parents, so please do say hello!

Charlie’s story is a true Chestnut Tree story. She joined us at just 17 as an apprentice and has worked her way up through the nursery, gaining experience in every part of the setting before stepping up to lead it as Nursery Manager, a role she has held for the last few years.
Having started on the floor, Charlie knows the nursery inside out, from settling a nervous baby on their first day to preparing our pre-schoolers for the big move to school. That hands-on experience shapes the way she leads: she’s approachable, supportive of her team, and always focused on what’s best for each child. Charlie also plays a central role in keeping children safe and making sure our policies and practice meet the highest standards.
