  • Buttercups at Isleworth, Isleworth
Buttercups Isleworth are an outstanding nursery, conveniently located on the Twickenham Road. As with all Buttercups nurseries, they focus on "learning through play" where the child's natural curiosity drives their learning. They use a variety of teaching mechanisms, including Montessori and HighScope, and believe in the importance of nature and time outside.

Buttercups Isleworth is a large, free flow building, with plenty of space for active learners. They have a separate room for children under 2 and a quiet sleep room. There is lots to explore and discover at this nursery and a huge garden filled with toys and equipment. In the warmer months, the preschool visit Buttercups Syon Park for Forest School sessions.

Buttercups believe that a well-cared for team results in well-cared for children, so they are committed to making sure staff feel supported, rewarded and challenged. They continually develop the skills and qualifications of their team through extensive in-house training programmes and external courses, ensuring children are provided the very best care.

If you'd like to learn more about the nursery, please contact the team who will be happy to help.

My son has been attending Buttercups at Isleworth for the last two years and my daughter was there before for two and a half years. The staff at the nursery are brilliant, they are very attentive and very caring; they have so many activities that the kids never get bored. I'm very pleased with this
nursery and would 100% recommend.

Buttercups at Isleworth has provided a wonderful, safe and caring environment for our daughter over the past three years. The staff are consistently brilliant. We’re provided written summaries of day-to-day activities at the nursery, as well as what (and how much) the kids have been eating. All in all,
we are extremely positive about the standard of care our daughter has received from Buttercups at Isleworth.

We have been happily sending our daughter to Buttercups at Isleworth for over two years now. The consistency of the excellent service we have experienced, despite change of management, has been incredibly high and tells a lot about the resilience and the quality of the company as a whole. The staff
are friendly, polite and really competent. We like the facility and the bottom line is that our little one is happy to go to the nursery every day!

Both my kids have gone to Buttercups at Isleworth Nursery and we have been associated with Buttercups for the last five years, as parents. Our kids have been super happy at the nursery and the learning they have received is outstanding! The staff are all super friendly and many of them have been with
the nursery for years. This really helps as everyone is passionate about making the nursery better every day. I would highly recommend Buttercups to all parents!

Both my sons have attended Buttercups at Isleworth over the last six years and both have had a wonderful experience - introducing the kids to learning and a fun way to start their education journey.
The nursery staff are amazing! They are helpful, courteous and have the best interests of our children
at heart. The nursery is clean and spacious and the (large) outdoor area gives them a chance to mess around in fresh air every day. Also - being next to a park also gives them that added bonus of being able to take the kids into a green space in good weather.
Both my kids were extremely happy to attend and on most days, they can't wait to rush in and see their friends.
Great communication and high standards are always apparent and the friendly staff are always happy to chat about any concerns or just keep you up to date with what our kids have been up to each day - doubled with a daily email detailing what the class has been up to, with accompanying pictures.
Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Our twins have loved attending Buttercups at Isleworth, the team are very caring, kind and create lots of interesting, diverse activities for our children. They have loved celebrating Diwali, Lunar New Year, Australia and recently learning all about St Valentine for Valentine's Day. They have been kind
to us when our minis were nervous about going to nursery and we feel confident that they are having a wonderful, fun day.

The staff are really amazing, helpful, my son is really learning a lot, he's changed a lot since joining, although he used to go to a different nursery. Buttercups at Isleworth made a great change in my son's development. It was the best choice. The new manager is just amazing. I really trust them.

First and foremost, the warmth, kindness and attention the staff give my son is outstanding.
He has been attending for more than two years and has been happy to go to nursery every single day.
I’m regularly impressed by the activities they do, which reflect a great breadth of skills and interests.
All in all, I am so grateful that I picked this nursery. He has thrived there.

A safe, playful and healthy environment for our children to learn and grow around their friends. They have always come home happy, well fed and full of beans and we feel like we are always able to work with the friendly and helpful staff. My child has been attending Buttercups at Isleworth for almost two years and has always been so happy there. The staff are really caring and plan many fun and varied activities for the children. They all have had a good education in child development and I've been so impressed by how they have worked
with my child on specific areas at times, such as speech development. The team are really receptive and work with the parents, for example in areas such as sleep or potty training. The manager is very friendly, professional, communicative and organised. I really value that Buttercups treat their staff well. They also have a healthy and varied menu and my child eats well there. I believe they are somewhat limited in what they can achieve with their outside space but the team plan outings with the children to the local park. Couldn't be more pleased with our choice of nursery!

My daughter has been at Buttercups at Isleworth a few days per week since she was 9 months old and has just turned 2. The staff are excellent, there is low turnover and they all seem to really care about the children. They do lots of activities and have an outdoor area with lots of toys. The food is
varied and healthy.

We couldn’t be happier with Buttercups Isleworth. I love the connection that all the staff have with our son. They have developed personal connections, and it is really reassuring to know he is loved by the staff. Nursery days are full of action-packed activities, and they celebrate diversity.
Management
has instilled new initiatives such as stay and plays so we can understand what a day at nursery is like. We also have regular parent-teacher interviews to understand learning and development milestones.

My daughter has been at Isleworth Buttercups since mid-September. The whole process, from arranging settling sessions to starting full days to the first review with her keyworker has been wonderful and very reassuring for a first-time parent!
The staff are very engaged, and the daily feedback from
the nursery in written and electronic form is a great way to keep us updated without feeling like we're being bombarded. I really like the number of opportunities they offer for parents to engage with their children's development.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Isleworth Buttercups to anyone else locally who is looking for a nursery place.

My daughter has been attending Isleworth Buttercups for the past 18 months, since she turned 1. She absolutely loves attending and regularly talks about the other children and staff with warmth and friendliness. The staff are all really caring and seem to genuinely enjoy their roles and interacting
with the children. The children undertake a variety of activities every day with dedicated daily garden time, meaning they always get fresh air and time outdoors. Not only are they helping create a confident, happy child, but they are also teaching her independence and the ability to do things for herself. It is notable compared to NCT friends at different nurseries how much more capable and independent my daughter is. There is always a degree of mum guilt about leaving her at nursery, but it really is minimal because I know how happy she is there and how well the staff look after her. I can not recommend the nursery highly enough and would recommend any local families to consider sending their child(ren) there.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.943)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.943) out of 10 for Buttercups at Isleworth is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 38 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.943 for Buttercups at Isleworth is calculated as follows: ( (433 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 456 Ratings = 4.943
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Buttercups at Isleworth is based on 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 number of registered child places is 12, which has been reached with 38 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
