Bright Horizons West Hampstead Day Nursery and Preschool is a purpose-built nursery and preschool for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

Bright Horizons West Hampstead Day Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which provides a framework for early education and development in the United Kingdom. The curriculum focuses on seven key areas of learning, including communication and language, physical development, personal, social and emotional development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design.

The nursery has dedicated play areas, both indoors and outdoors, where children can engage in a variety of activities that promote physical development, imaginative play, and social interaction. The facility is designed to provide a comfortable and stimulating setting for children. With a large easy access to the garden outdoor area with an amazing adventure playground, which includes two climbing frames, a race track, a water feature and reading and growing areas.

The preschool enables children to learn letters and numbers through the use of interactive whiteboards and they can learn baking and cooking skills in the preschool kitchen.

The nursery understands the importance of providing nutritious meals to support children's growth and development. They offer freshly prepared meals and snacks, taking into consideration dietary requirements and allergies. The menu includes a variety of balanced and age-appropriate options.

The nursery was rated 'Good' by Ofsted in December 2022.

We are very happy with Asquith West Hampstead and so is our son. He settled in quickly and really enjoys playing with the staff and other kids. We never have to worry because we know he is having a great time!

As a first time parent, the nursery has made it so easy and comforting for me to leave my baby here. The team in baby room show so much love and care that when I pick my baby up he doesn't want to leave.
The team give very detailed feedback in regards to my child's day and what they are working on
so that I can continue at home. I also find that the monthly newsletters via email are extremely helpful to let us parents know what events etc are happening at the nursery. I'm very happy with the nursery.

This nursery has become a second home for our daughter. The staff is very loving, great focus is put on individual needs, the food is freshly prepared and looks great and we look forward to more warm weather for some great playtime outside in the garden. I would greatly recommend this nursery.

I think the place is just great! Great management, great girls in the rooms and hence great care. My daughter is always very, very happy to go there in the morning and she waves me goodbye and runs towards the teachers when she sees them in the morning.
She is 18 months old. My child is great and
healthy and very special, is surrounded by lots of personalised attention. I have my mind at ease when she is there and have already recommended it to another friend of mine.

Our 9-month-old son has been at the nursery a month now and we are so happy with the care he gets. The staff are so friendly and professional we could never have imagined him to settle in so quickly.

My child has been at the nursery since she was 5 months old (full time), for over a year. Not one moment have I had to worry about her care. The provisions are excellent, the staff is caring and professional and she clearly enjoys going to nursery. Communication is good and personal. She has also learned

My child loves coming to preschool every day.

I found the school very child-friendly and warm.
They strive to maintain a close relationship with parents and provide almost daily updates on the children's progress.
The learning experience for the kids is smoothly interwoven with fun activities and I find myself surprised by how much my son picks

We have been delighted with the nursery.

Our little one has settled in so well at Asquith West Hampstead Day Nursery.
He was 12 months old when he started and has formed a great relationship with his key worker.
He is so happy coming to nursery every day and attends full time.
The staff are so happy, helpful and attentive.
They have really
made it a great experience for us.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Hi, I'm Shireen and I am the Nursery Manager for Bright Horizons West Hampstead.


I have a CACHE Level 2 and a CACHE Level 3 Early Years Educator. I've worked in childcare for over 10 years I have worked as a special educational need’s coordinator, practitioner, room leader, deputy manager and a manager.


As a mum of three, I enjoy teaching all ages and ensuring children get that awe and wonder from the moment they step into my setting to the moment they leave us to go to school. I truly believe in making my setting a home from home and ensuring that every child feels secure and comfortable.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

My name is Kelly Thomas and I am the Deputy Manager for West Hampstead Day Nursery.


I have worked in Early Years for over 20 years, working my way up from a Summer helper in a preschool to Deputy Manager, and have had various roles, including SENCO, room leader and Early Years Coordinator. I am always developing and enhancing my knowledge and have gained a BA Honours Degree in Early Years: Teaching and Learning.


I joined Bright Horizons in 2022 but have worked for small independent nurseries as well as large chain nurseries.


I grew up in a family where children are at the heart of everything, where my mum is a foster carer, and I am a respite foster carer. I therefore have a passion for and am committed to providing a caring, nurturing, stimulating and safe environment for children. Working in childcare is a fulfilling career and I enjoy giving children the opportunity to discover and develop themselves and the world around them to reach their full potential and flourish in their development. I appreciate that parents are entrusting us with their most important person, so I believe strong partnerships with families are a key to children being safe, happy, and successful in their learning journey.
