Bright Horizons West Hampstead Day Nursery and Preschool is a purpose-built nursery and preschool for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

Bright Horizons West Hampstead Day Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which provides a framework for early education and development in the United Kingdom. The curriculum focuses on seven key areas of learning, including communication and language, physical development, personal, social and emotional development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design.

The nursery has dedicated play areas, both indoors and outdoors, where children can engage in a variety of activities that promote physical development, imaginative play, and social interaction. The facility is designed to provide a comfortable and stimulating setting for children. With a large easy access to the garden outdoor area with an amazing adventure playground, which includes two climbing frames, a race track, a water feature and reading and growing areas.

The preschool enables children to learn letters and numbers through the use of interactive whiteboards and they can learn baking and cooking skills in the preschool kitchen.

The nursery understands the importance of providing nutritious meals to support children's growth and development. They offer freshly prepared meals and snacks, taking into consideration dietary requirements and allergies. The menu includes a variety of balanced and age-appropriate options.

The nursery was rated 'Good' by Ofsted in December 2022.

We could not be happier with the experience our son has had with the nursery to date! He started right before the first lockdown in March 2020, and the manager and deputy did an incredible job communicating with all the parents during a very difficult time over the last 9-months. The daily activities
our son is participating in has kept him very well entertained, and you can see him developing day after day. The staff shows nothing but positive attention and enthusiasm to every child, and you can see the joy on the kid's faces when they see their nursery workers every morning. Keep up the great work!

We love Bright Horizon West Hampstead. The management and staff are all lovely; they support and provide so much care to our child. She loves going to the nursery every morning and comes back to energised in the evening. We've only had great interactions with both baby and toddler room and thank them

The whole team in Bright Horizons/Asquith West Hampstead has been fantastic from day 1. Our daughter has been very well looked after, by people who genuinely care about her and this is the reason she loves going to school every morning. The teachers in the Toddler room have been great, very caring and
loving, they helped her so much to develop into the kind and energetic toddler she is today! She didn't understand a word of English when she started and within a few months she perfectly gets the language and can communicate very well for her age. The management team has also been very supportive and caring, always with a smile and kind word. Very highly recommend the nursery and the team.

Good staff, good care. Attentive, reports regularly about activities/situation/development. Good facilities and children often play outdoors. Poor cleanliness as children use outdoor shoes in same space as they sleep.
Would prefer that children would not be served sweets/cakes. Nursery closed down
on short notice due to weather conditions and put families in a difficult situation.

It's our 3rd child attending this nursery and we absolutely love it! The staff are all very caring, the developmental activities are great and the garden is amazing. Each time my older children come in to drop off the youngest, they still say they would love to keep coming here to play!

Hi, I'm Shireen and I am the Nursery Manager for Bright Horizons West Hampstead.


I have a CACHE Level 2 and a CACHE Level 3 Early Years Educator. I've worked in childcare for over 10 years I have worked as a special educational need’s coordinator, practitioner, room leader, deputy manager and a manager.


As a mum of three, I enjoy teaching all ages and ensuring children get that awe and wonder from the moment they step into my setting to the moment they leave us to go to school. I truly believe in making my setting a home from home and ensuring that every child feels secure and comfortable.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

My name is Kelly Thomas and I am the Deputy Manager for West Hampstead Day Nursery.


I have worked in Early Years for over 20 years, working my way up from a Summer helper in a preschool to Deputy Manager, and have had various roles, including SENCO, room leader and Early Years Coordinator. I am always developing and enhancing my knowledge and have gained a BA Honours Degree in Early Years: Teaching and Learning.


I joined Bright Horizons in 2022 but have worked for small independent nurseries as well as large chain nurseries.


I grew up in a family where children are at the heart of everything, where my mum is a foster carer, and I am a respite foster carer. I therefore have a passion for and am committed to providing a caring, nurturing, stimulating and safe environment for children. Working in childcare is a fulfilling career and I enjoy giving children the opportunity to discover and develop themselves and the world around them to reach their full potential and flourish in their development. I appreciate that parents are entrusting us with their most important person, so I believe strong partnerships with families are a key to children being safe, happy, and successful in their learning journey.
