Our son joined Newpark at 1 year old and has been at the nursery for about a year. We initially chose Newpark because of its convenient location in the City, its flexible hours (7-7) and its clear Montessori approach. We have been extremely impressed by the nursery and having now moved nurseries due
to relocation, can only stress how wonderful the setting is.
PROS:
- Very small setting (20ish children), individual approach to each child.
- Consistent Montessori approach, Montessori-trained teachers and plenty of equipment.
- Own chef
- One room for all children, learning from others.
- Weekly reports and photos, personal videos of special days (birthdays etc).
- Weekly library/ park visits, outside time every day.
CONSIDERATIONS:
- Limited outside space.
- Relatively strict sickness policy, leading to many missed hours in the winter.
- High fees even compared to other local nurseries.

We take pride in our consistent Montessori curriculum and individual approach to each child.
Despite our limited outdoor space, we are fortunate to have many options for daily outings – such as Thomas More Square/playground, Speed Garden, Barbican Centre, Barbican library and local shops.
Regarding our sickness policy, we have to keep it strict in order to prevent the spread of contagious viruses among children. However, we try to support the parents as much as possible by offering external services.
Our fees mirror the high standards that we offer - our Montessori approach, training and equipment. We do our best to retain our staff and encourage development by offering numerous training opportunities and by paying them the London Living Wage. We wish you and your family all the best for the future.
