Matchbox Day Nursery

My son joined Matchbox at age two after attending another nursery, and he absolutely thrived. His confidence grew, he built wonderful relationships with the staff, and I believe it made his transition to Reception much easier.

My daughter still attends Matchbox and happily skips in every morning, she even asks to go at the weekend! The staff, including the office team, are fantastic, caring, and so supportive.

We also love the sense of community. We've made some great friends through Matchbox, and it's lovely seeing parents and children meeting up after pick-up. Matchbox has been a wonderful experience for our whole family.

A huge thank you to all the staff at Matchbox Day Nursery, Aberfeldy Village, for everything you have done for our family. We will always be grateful for the love, care, and support you have shown. I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery to any parent looking for a wonderful, caring, and outstanding childcare setting.

Our family has had a wonderful experience with Matchbox. The staff are caring, attentive, and professional. The environment is safe, clean, and welcoming, and our child is happy, learning, and thriving every day. The administration go above and beyond to accommodate requests, are transparent and have the best hours/structure for daycares in the area.

Our son attends the Matchbox Nursery in Aberfeldy and we are so happy. Each and every staff member is such a delight to work with and it's so evident they really care about the happiness and wellbeing of your child. They have been so accommodating with requests we have made and have always been taken care with our son's intolerances. They were so supportive during the settling period and have been so good to provide regular updates and pictures of his journey at nursery. We couldn't imagine sending him anywhere else and are so grateful to all the staff.

My first child attended Matchbox in 2018 and my youngest started in 2024. Both of them have absolutely loved their time there and my youngest still does. The staff are incredible, caring, welcoming, and genuinely invested in the children. They still remember and ask about my older son even though he left five years ago, which really shows how much they value the families they work with.

I couldn't ask for anything more. Matchbox is a wonderful nursery and everyone I know who has sent their children there has said the same. Truly a fantastic place!

My daughter absolutely loves it she has settled brilliantly and has bonded with the teachers on her classroom. She is learning so much and is thriving. There is open communication. There is an app that's updated throughout the day on what she has been up to. Pictures and videos of her are also uploaded which is so lovely. When my baby has been unwell it has been managed with professionalism and care. Baby is always clean and dry when I pick her up. They take care of her nappy and has never had any issues with her skin as a result. I could not be happier and so glad I made this decision. The price is also affordable compared to other Nurseries in the area. Thank you matchbox keep up the great work.

We were told to write most of our child’s routine/expression so his key person could understand his actions and when our child expresses himself vocally. They didn’t look at the book, and the response we got was that they are busy taking care of other children. We gave them changing clothes to use, for example in the event of a nappy accident. We saw that our child had a soiled trouser/bodysuit after nursery pickup. We asked why he wasn’t changed and the response we got was I didn’t change him, I’ll ask around. However, no one claimed they were accountable after another day of asking around. We also noticed the lack of fluidity in changing nappies at the nursery. Whenever we asked for a breakdown of our child’s activities the nursery’s response was very simplistic, we implored them to emphasize but we couldn’t get any more info. This showed either they have too many children per key person that they lose track, or they don’t do many activities towards a child's development.

Very homely feel inside the nursery, overall amazing.

My daughter went to Matchbox originally and I had no hesitation in sending my son here too, it was a pleasant surprise that nearly 3 years later, there were many of the same staff members and they all remembered my daughter still. Such a lovely well run nursery - all the staff know all the children's names which gives it a family feel.

The nursury has a large garden which the children can play in throughout the day and a forest school which they can visit.

My child has been going to Matchbox Day Nursery since s/he was 5 months old. My child loves going and gives his/her key worker a big hug each morning! They host a variety of activities that relate to all the areas of the Early Years curriculum that ensure that s/he is well rounded. These activities are done through child initiated play so all the little ones are always on the go exploring the environment! The staff that work there are professional, polite and have good relationships with the children and their parents and carers. I feel that the communication between the Nursery and home is excellent. I always know what my little one has been up to and what s/he is enjoying each day! The Nursery was highly recommended to me by friends and I also highly recommend Matchbox Day Nursery!
