LEYF - Micky Star Nursery & Pre-School

Extremely happy with Micky Star. My now 13 month old started almost three months ago. Within a couple of weeks, she loved it and was waving me out of the door. She’s excited when we get there which says it all. They seem to do a lot of sensory play and the staff make a real effort to connect with the children. The outside space is amazing and means the children get a lot of fresh air every day which is rare for a nursery so central. I looked at a number of nurseries before deciding and although Micky Star may not be the most modern, it had in my opinion the most homely feel, fresh food made on site, a separate sleep room and outside space which few did. Now my daughter’s been there a while I’m also very impressed with the friendly, home like atmosphere. Very happy with my decision.

The learning is open-ended and children are free to explore their curiosity, my child’s interest were taken into account for her individual learning, which I believe has propelled her to be such a curious and inquisitive being.

This is a wonderful nursery, with staff who honestly are caring, loving and supportive to the children and even parents who attend.

This nursery is in a very good area. Great garden and play area for kids. I had my ups and downs with this nursery, though certain staff are reasons why I kept my daughter here. Key worker made her experience better and me, more relaxed and sure of my daughter's safety.

The only criticism I can make is related to the food. They give them very often couscous and breadsticks which in my view don't have much of a nutritional value. Also sometimes they serve the kids the same protein twice in a row.

It didn't take long for my son to settle into the baby room and now he loves going to nursery. He gets excited on the way in and he gets to do activities we don't do at home. He is extremely sociable, happy meeting new children and adults, eats a varied diet and seems to really benefit from going to Micky Star Community Nursery. I am very happy with the nursery. the staff are kind and take an individual approach.

My daughter has been happy at Micky Star for the past year, first in the babies’ room and now on the second year room. She enjoys it, has an ample range of activities and is well taken care of by the staff.

Quality of briefings and child knowledge depends on staff. Use of technology and communications could be improved as it would facilitate managing childcare in the modern world. More regular formal briefings scheduled with appropriate time would make parents feel more involved.

My children are attached to their key person and to other members of the team. They are always so happy when they arrive, no tears, only big smiles. My eldest would like to go to nursery at the weekend! I know they are happy and in good hands and this is the most important for me.

Great staff and children are very happy there! Food appears to be good or at least our daughter is eating well and is eager to go to nursery in the morning!

The staff at Micky Star have been supportive to myself and my daughter and I'm more than happy to leave my child in their extremely capable hands. They support in all aspects of her development, at nursery and at home and I consider them family.

The best testament I can give is that my daughter, after being there for almost 3 years, will not pick a favourite teacher as she thinks they are all amazing and cannot wait to go to see them every day.

The team is great and dedicated. You have daily follow-ups with them. They understand the issues working parents can have. The 8am to 6pm timings are great. The outdoor space is amazing and so rare in Central London. My 2 and a half-year-old daughter: “Mummy, I want to stay in nursery” when I come to pick her up.

We were very pleased when a place came up for him. My son started in this nursery last month. He settled-in in no time at all! He seems so happy there! They have nice big space for the children and separate sleep area. Meals are freshly cooked onsite. The outside area is fantastic too! Absolutely no regrets at all! Can't recommend highly enough.

At first, I was not sure whether I was doing the right thing by putting her in from an early age as I felt guilty as a mother but seeing her progress in 1 year and talking non-stop with excitement makes a big difference. My daughter looks forward to going to nursery every day and is always happy, singing and her vocabulary is so much better.

Excellent nursery with caring and thoughtful teachers. We feel comfortable having my child taken care of by the childcare and would have our second child enrolled when he comes of age.

The manager is also a true asset to the nursery and is always willing to give her time whenever I need it!

My daughter is extremely happy at this nursery and settled in so quickly. She can't wait to go to nursery each morning. She's always singing songs she's learnt in nursery and looks forward to weekly show and tell. She's learning letters of the alphabet and the days of the week. All the children are friendly and well behaved. The facilities are excellent, clean, well resourced play areas and child friendly toilets. Most importantly of all the staff are very friendly and experienced and understand child behaviour. I trust them completely to care for my child and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery to other parents.
