LEYF - Gumboots Nursery & Pre-School

My son has been at the nursery since he was 16 months old and has always enjoyed going to the nursery and the staff have always been incredibly kind and caring towards him and his development.

The staff make a huge effort to organise social gatherings for the children and parents to enjoy. The recent Valentine’s Day breakfast was a wonderful way for the children across the nursery to interact - fabulous.

Gumboots is a real joy to be part of - the manager and staff are all so lovely, welcoming and caring! My son practically runs in in the morning and gives everyone a big cuddle when he leaves. I leave happy in the knowledge that not only is he well looked after and cared for but loved also. The staff in his room give off such a part of the family vibe.

Great nursery. Family atmosphere with everyone being so nice. Real, community feel. My son loves it there and has a great time. Would highly recommend to lots of people.

When you tell your daughter she’s going to nursery and she does a little dance to celebrate - you know that they are doing something right!

Our daughters have all attended Gumboots over the years. Our youngest daughter who still attends Gumboots has developed in so many ways and is a more confident child and looks forward to going into nursery every day. The nursery itself is a fun and lively environment and I think it provides the backdrop for more effective learning.

Our daughter has adored the staff in every room she’s been in as she’s grown. We love how all of the kids seem to know all of the staff, and the staff know them too. It’s a wonderful community.

I was so worried about my daughter starting nursery as she didn’t like being with anyone other than my husband and me but I absolutely needn’t have worried. The staff at Gumboots are amazing - caring, friendly, creative and inclusive, and have helped my daughter to be a confident and outgoing toddler. She started in the baby room and has progressed through the rising 2s to the 2-3 year room where she is now. The staff and facilities in all rooms have been brilliant and I would not want my daughter to attend anywhere else. She really loves it there and adores all the staff members. And as a fussy eater at home, I’m hugely grateful for the varied and delicious looking food that is provided which she gobbles up no problem! Thank you Gumboots - we love you!

A really well-run nursery with amazing staff who really care about the kids. The facilities are amazing and the food is of a high quality.

Gumboots is a friendly nursery and a home away from home for our son. He’s learnt so much and made many friends.

Our children have always been happy to go to Gumboots, frequently reluctant to leave at the end of the day. The staff are kind and considerate and communication to parents is regular.

We feel that they are safe and secure there, and developing important relationships which will serve them well in their lives.

I just wanted to say how brilliant I have found this nursery. I have two children at Gumboots and have been thoroughly impressed with the professionalism of the staff, the fantastic range of activities and celebrations they undertake and the deep care the staff have for the children there. It is obvious the children have fun there and I know what great hands my kids are in when I drop them off before work. They take a genuine interest in the kids home life and do a great job at relaying what the kids get up to when you pick them up. I cannot rate this place highly enough!

Great open plan space indoors for the children to explore and even more wonderful outdoor space. Gumboots has been a great environment for my daughter to develop confidence and social interaction skills with friends, preparing her for school in the coming months. The staff are fantastic at developing relationships with the children.

This is a fantastic nursery. The children are very happy there. The care is excellent. Outdoor facilities and opportunities for outdoor activities better than in other nurseries in the area.

This nursery is fantastic. My son has been there since he was 12 months and the staff have really nurtured him. They all know him really well and make him and me feel special-it is like a family. He has fun and has learnt lots of new things independently from me. He is very happy there and I am happy leaving him. Knowing that the staff are looking after him really well. The layout and garden space are excellent.

Our children are really happy at Gumboots. The staff are supportive, attentive and highly professional. They take a keen interest in the development of children and their wellbeing. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. You really get a sense that they care about the children. It feels as though the staff often go above and beyond what is required of them. The team apply themselves very imaginatively to developing interesting and creative experiences for the children. The management team must be incredibly busy too, but still take the time to know the children individually. The staff at Gumboots are very approachable. As parents, we feel we can talk to them easily about how our kids are doing there.

The best thing about Gumboots is the staff. The carers really care about the children and show them love and fondness as well as being fun and encouraging which for me is the most important thing. There is a family feeling to the nursery and many staff have worked there for many years which is a credit to the wonderful management.

The gardens, for a city location, are huge and green and the children are able to get lots of fresh air. The large shaded area allows shelter from the sun and rain so fun can be had all year around.

Feedback at the end of the day is very informative allowing any issues to be discussed and resolved.

The home cooked food is amazing. Such a varied and healthy menu.

My children love their time at Gumboots.
