The Nursery is in the heart of East Dulwich, not far from the station. It's a spacious nursery with separate rooms and gardens for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. The caring, dedicated staff have worked together for many years.

The children enjoy a varied and stimulating timetable - cooking with the chef, Zumba classes, gardening – every day is different! They also love getting involved in the wider community, taking trips to the local shops or visiting the elderly. They run regular quiz nights too, so parents and grandparents can join in the fun.

Teaching the children about healthy eating is important too. The on-site chef prepares nutritious and balanced meals from LEYF’s menu.

Our children are really happy at Gumboots. The staff are supportive, attentive and highly professional. They take a keen interest in the development of children and their wellbeing. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. You really get a sense that they care about the children. It feels as though
the staff often go above and beyond what is required of them. The team apply themselves very imaginatively to developing interesting and creative experiences for the children. The management team must be incredibly busy too, but still take the time to know the children individually. The staff at Gumboots are very approachable. As parents, we feel we can talk to them easily about how our kids are doing there.

The best thing about Gumboots is the staff. The carers really care about the children and show them love and fondness as well as being fun and encouraging which for me is the most important thing. There is a family feeling to the nursery and many staff have worked there for many years which is a credit
to the wonderful management.


The gardens, for a city location, are huge and green and the children are able to get lots of fresh air. The large shaded area allows shelter from the sun and rain so fun can be had all year around.


Feedback at the end of the day is very informative allowing any issues to be discussed and resolved.


The home cooked food is amazing. Such a varied and healthy menu.


My children love their time at Gumboots.

Since my first son stated at Gumboots in September 2015, and my second son starting in March 2017, I have been amazed and humbled at the care and attention we have received as a family. The staff are attentive, caring and passionate about the children's welfare and development. All of the children
at Gumboots are clearly happy with the positive and nurturing environment. Gumboots has an excellent local reputation, which I often hear as my business is based locally.

My twins started at Gumboots in April (aged 1) and I couldn't be happier. They have settled well and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were all ok. They have a wonderful time and I know they are being well looked after.

My daughter has attended Gumboots nursery since she was one year old and she is now a confident and happy four-year-old soon to be starting school. Gumboots has provided outstanding care since the outset and I trust the staff implicitly to look after her and support her in every way she needs. I also
feel supported as a parent and the staff always have time to chat to you about your children's progress. It is a very special place with dedicated, caring staff and a bright and cheerful environment. My youngest daughter has just started and I am sure she is going to love it as much as her sister has.

This is a great nursery with amazing staff who really love and support the children's growth. We feel confident that our children are in good hands. I am very happy with the care that my son recieves at Gumboots. The team is friendly and the environment feels homely. I am also pleased with the feedback given daily, knowing what he plays with and enjoys makes it just that bit easier for me to provide him with the right stimulating activities at home.

From administration to daily hugs on arrival, (for my daughter not me!) Gumboots excel at every level. No request is too big or small and response times on emails super quick, which has not been the experience at other nurseries. This, coupled to the bright colourful space means that every day I leave
my daughter there, I drop her off in the confidence she is with true professionals, who not only do a great job but have fun doing it. A few tears have been shed now and again, but I try to do it once I have left the building. Bravo!

So happy that I managed to get my son into Gumboots. He has been since he was a baby and is now in the 2-3yrs room. He is so happy there, always talking about his favourite staff members and all the fun he’s been up to in the ‘big garden’.
