Bluebell Wood Children's Nursery is a day nursery in part of a lovely old historic hall on the edge of Heathfield offering warm, friendly and stimulating childcare, either full-time or part-time.

The nursery is in an area which was once part of the Goward Hall and which has now been converted to provide a beautifully laid out nursery with its own private garden. The nursery is bright and airy and equipped so that your child can enjoy a wide variety of fun, creative and educational experiences.

The nursery and garden are completely enclosed and security is paramount. Bluebell Wood is on the eastern outskirts of Heathfield, overlooking fields and woods but only a few minutes from the town centre and local schools. There is ample parking and commuters in the area will find it very easy to reach. The nursery is less than 15 minutes drive from villages and towns as far apart as Mayfield, Mark Cross, Buxted and Battle.

  • 2025 FEES FOR FULL DAYCARE NON-FUNDED:


    Children aged 0 – 5 years - Week full £360.00 per week / Day full (8 am –6 pm) £81.00 per day / Session morning (8 am-1 pm) £ 51.00 per session / Session afternoon (1 pm-6 pm) £51.00 per session.

  • Parents can book their child in to attend from 7:30am and up to 6:30pm. These are charged at £8.00 per half hour or part half hour.
    Terms of Payment (please see our Terms and Conditions).
    A non-refundable fee of £25 is payable on registration, along with an £80 refundable deposit for securing a place.
    Fees are charged on a monthly basis.
    Fees are payable monthly in advance, by standing order or BACS by the last day of the preceding month or by cheque by the 24th of the preceding month. The nursery closes at 1 pm Christmas Eve, for the period in between Christmas and New Year and on bank holidays. No charge is made during scheduled nursery closures.

My daughter came to nursery 5 mornings a week and I am very happy we chose Bluebell Wood. She loves going to nursery and it has helped her get ready for school. The staff are always happy to help and take great care in their work.

Bluebell Wood is superb. Our first daughter attended from a young age and this set her up really well for reception at primary school. Her younger sister soon followed and both have/do really enjoy it.


Parents are kept in touch with daily updates of photos/videos/write-ups so you can see how your

child is developing and learning. The staff are really happy and positive and the facilities good, all of which makes for a nice environment for children to positively grow and develop.


I'm grateful our children have benefited from going to this excellent nursery.

My daughter has been at Bluebell Wood for almost 18 months now. She settled very quickly and loves coming to nursery. The staff are very friendly and caring and keep parents informed of what has happened each day. Parent's are also welcome to stay and join in for a session at any time. There are lots
of different crafts and activities arranged each week, and they also spend a lot of time outside. I would recommend Bluebell Wood to anyone who is looking for a nursery in the Heathfield area.

My daughter came to Bluebell Wood Children's nursery from when she was 2 years old until she left for school. I was extremely happy with her care and all that she learnt from being at nursery. The staff are helpful and friendly and really take the time to get to know each individual child. My daughter
was always happy to come to nursery and sometimes didn't want to come home. The nursery itself is bright and welcoming and everything is suitable for all the age range of the children, they have a lovely outdoors space to play which they use every day.

A lovely nursery! My daughter is so happy there and the staff are fantastic. Great care, healthy food, variety of creative activities and excellent communication with parents. I am really happy we chose Bluebell Wood for our daughter.

Our daughter joined the nursery in January this year and we have been nothing but impressed. The staff at the nursery are caring, kind and have really taken the time to get to know our daughter. The range of activities that have been provided is excellent and the progress we have seen in our child since
joining the nursery is great. Communication between the staff and parents is brilliant, staff always take the time to talk to parents. We would definitely recommend this nursery to others and will be applying for a place for our son in the very near future.

The staff made a big effort to help settle my son in when he started nursery which in turn also helped me!
They are all friendly and clearly enjoy their jobs. They always do a wide variety of crafts/activities etc and the children are very happy. We are very happy with the nursery and also they are
very good at monitoring my son's progress and development.

She joined the team in 2019. Charlotte studied at Canterbury University, where she gained her Level 6 in Early Childhood Studies. Charlotte loves working with children and is passionate about outdoor play and supporting children to build the skills to create lifelong friendships.
