Bluebell Wood Children's Nursery is a day nursery in part of a lovely old historic hall on the edge of Heathfield offering warm, friendly and stimulating childcare, either full-time or part-time.

The nursery is in an area which was once part of the Goward Hall and which has now been converted to provide a beautifully laid out nursery with its own private garden. The nursery is bright and airy and equipped so that your child can enjoy a wide variety of fun, creative and educational experiences.

The nursery and garden are completely enclosed and security is paramount. Bluebell Wood is on the eastern outskirts of Heathfield, overlooking fields and woods but only a few minutes from the town centre and local schools. There is ample parking and commuters in the area will find it very easy to reach. The nursery is less than 15 minutes drive from villages and towns as far apart as Mayfield, Mark Cross, Buxted and Battle.

    Children aged 0 – 5 years - Week full £360.00 per week / Day full (8 am –6 pm) £81.00 per day / Session morning (8 am-1 pm) £ 51.00 per session / Session afternoon (1 pm-6 pm) £51.00 per session.

  • Parents can book their child in to attend from 7:30am and up to 6:30pm. These are charged at £8.00 per half hour or part half hour.
    Terms of Payment (please see our Terms and Conditions).
    A non-refundable fee of £25 is payable on registration, along with an £80 refundable deposit for securing a place.
    Fees are charged on a monthly basis.
    Fees are payable monthly in advance, by standing order or BACS by the last day of the preceding month or by cheque by the 24th of the preceding month. The nursery closes at 1 pm Christmas Eve, for the period in between Christmas and New Year and on bank holidays. No charge is made during scheduled nursery closures.

My daughter started at Bluebell Wood Children's Nursery at 6 months old and attends 2 days a week. While she is naturally sociable, all the staff and nursery teachers have made attending such a positive experience for her. It's wonderful to see how she is doing throughout the day via the app and I always
feel like she experiences a balanced mix of learning, sensory play, free play and structured play. The pricing is very reasonable considering the level of care, meals and formula included and the updates and photos I see of her.
I am really pleased I managed to get her 2 full days a week there, I definitely recommend Bluebell Wood.

Both my children have been at Bluebell Wood Children's Nursery since age 2. They have both now just finished to go to school. They settled in so well and have been so well looked after they have thrived throughout their time. I cannot thank the amazing staff for all their hard work, care and love towards

My daughter has been at this nursery now for a year, and she has come along leaps and bounds. She loves the staff and is so happy when I collect her. She only goes once a week, and I can see a huge difference each week. She is always extremely excited to go and play.

We moved our son from another local nursery to Bluebell Wood Children's Nursery, and it has been one of the best decisions we have made. The staff have been so good at identifying what he is interested in and encouraging him to explore these interests as well as new experiences. The outside play area,
the messy play, the arts and reading books all seem to be thought about in a way that encourages fun but also simulates learning. The food has been a particular hit with our son, and it has been great using the app to see what he has been eating. Without exception, all of the staff are smiley, kind and genuinely thoughtful towards the children. On his non-nursery days, our son talks about the staff and looks forward to seeing them again. I would wholeheartedly recommend Bluebell Wood Children's Nursery and am delighted that our son is enjoying his time there so much. As a parent, I couldn't ask for more.

Our daughter is now 3 years old and has been attending Bluebell Wood Nursery since she was 18months and she absolutely loves it! All front-facing and back-office staff have been a tremendous support during the last 2 very challenging years.
Very recently our daughter has been diagnosed with Type1
Diabetes. We can't thank the team enough for their additional support and flexibility during the initial weeks of diagnosis, and more importantly for the specialist Diabetes training (often in their own time), ALL staff have now received. This has enabled our daughter, just 5 weeks after being diagnosed to be back with her friends and normal routine. Thank you.

Our daughter has been going to Bluebell and recently moved up from the baby room.
Our daughter adores going to nursery, she is so happy there with their lovely caring staff. All the staff we have met seem to genuinely adore all the children in their care, and always treat them with so much love and
kindness.
They have been great with communicating and managing us all during the pandemic and we feel our daughter is safe in their hands.

Great nursery, both my boys have been here since they were 10 months old. Really really nice staff and both of them have thrived. Also, the management has been so accommodating throughout the pandemic for parents and also set up a really good, safe system for the children to attend nursery safely ensuring

My daughter has been at Bluebell Wood 3 days a week since she was 10 months old and I can't recommend it highly enough. The staff were great from the get-go and she settled in literally straight away (in our first taster session). They work really hard to make it a home from home and really get to know
your child and work with their needs/routines rather than making the child try to 'fit' with a nursery routine. I breastfeed and they made it so easy for me to continue this with expressed milk. If you are having any issues at home, they will also come up with creative ways to support you with this (i.e. getting my daughter and her little friends bathing the babies together while my daughter was going through a phase of fearing the bath). I feel so lucky to have such a fab nursery and it made the difficult transition of going back to work and leaving her so much easier! Thank you Bluebell Wood!

My son has been going to Bluebell Wood since he was 6 months. He’s now almost 3 years. He really enjoys all the activities. All the girls that work there are so friendly. I get regular updates with pictures of activities on the app. The kids get plenty of fresh air outdoors too, I thoroughly recommend.

Returning to work after having your first child is stressful and I dreaded our first session where I'd have to leave him at a nursery when the pandemic has meant he's had little contact with anyone outside our immediate family, so when I collected him after his first taster morning and he was smiling
from ear to ear I was so relieved! From that moment onwards he has absolutely loved going to Bluebell Wood and seeing his updates on the app of him playing and learning in a safe environment is wonderful. He's coming up to 18mths and I've really seen an improvement in his communication since he started. The staff are brilliant and very approachable and we couldn't be happier!

I would highly recommend this nursery. My daughter loves it there and literally runs through the gates in the morning. All of the staff know her and genuinely take an interest in her development and wellbeing, and are accommodating whenever I’ve had to ask for additional or altered provision. I was
initially worried about the lack of ‘green’ outside space but quickly learnt that what goes in inside the nursery is far more important. The playground is small, but more than adequate, and the children are always involved in an activity of some kind; whatever the weather! My daughter has without a doubt, progressed whilst at the nursery and talks fondly of her time there.

I couldn't praise this nursery and its staff enough. The manager and the team are amazing with the children. My daughter absolutely loved her time here for the four years she was with them. They helped her grow in confidence and independence. They are always on hand for any worries you have and are

Bluebell Wood is such a lovely nursery, from the second I looked around to the present day it felt like a second home for my girls. She joined the team in 2019. Charlotte studied at Canterbury University, where she gained her Level 6 in Early Childhood Studies. Charlotte loves working with children and is passionate about outdoor play and supporting children to build the skills to create lifelong friendships.

Harriet is our fantastic Operations Manager. Harriet has over 16 years of experience working in the Early Years. She joined the Bluebell family as the Nursery Manager of Bluebell Wood and now as the Operations Manager, Harriet oversees the running of all three of our fabulous nurseries.
