Both of my babies attend Kings - it is an excellent nursery that I would recommend to other parents. Staff are attentive and energetic. Learning and activities are good. Forest School is great. The food is good - hot nutritious lunches provided.

My child has had a fantastic time in Glenesk nursery. This was her first nursery experience and the staff have been incredibly supportive of both my child and me. Mrs Barnett has gone out of her way to get to know my child, learning her favourite colour so that the colour is available to draw with, colour with, etc., and encouraging her out of her comfort zone in doing activities with increasing independence. I've been really impressed with the progress that she has made, such as her improved knife cutting skills from weekly cookery sessions. I feel completely comfortable leaving my children in the care of any of the staff at Glenesk. Everyone is so warm and friendly. The regular updates on the app show how happy my child is at nursery and how much she adores her teacher.

The school facilities are good, the pastoral care is excellent and the food is also high standard.

We have been really happy with this nursery and the care our child receives. What stands out most is the genuinely individual approach they take with each child. The staff invest time in getting to know each child well, building strong relationships that help children feel secure and understood.

The school has a very open and welcoming atmosphere, with as much of an open-door policy as is possible, whilst keeping the building safe. Parents are encouraged to see what is happening around the school, which is reassuring and demonstrates the confidence the team has in the quality of their care.

I have been impressed by the staffing levels. There always appear to be enough adults present to provide attentive care, it feels like there are often more staff than the minimum required ratio. This creates a calm, supportive environment where children receive plenty of attention and support.

My overall experience with the nursery has been positive. The staff are kind, caring, and clearly dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment for the children. My child has settled in well and enjoys attending, which gives me confidence in the team and their approach to early years care.

Recently, I raised a concern about the cleanliness standards, as I felt some areas could be improved. I was very pleased with how professionally the nursery responded. They acknowledged my feedback promptly and took clear, practical steps to address the matter. I received a detailed follow-up explaining the new cleaning routines and improvements being implemented, which reassured me that my concerns were taken seriously.

Overall, I'm happy with the care and attention

Our little boy has been quite shy during his time in Nursery but is really coming out of his shell in this new room, despite only being in there for a few weeks. The team are doing an exceptional job!

My child has settled beautifully and is very happy here. Well cared for. Range of activities offered. Nurturing. This is the second of our children to go through the nursery and we didn't hesitate to send our youngest.

My son loves being at Kings, the staff are really polite and good with him. He seems happy to go to nursery everyday. Its important to me that the staff deeply care for my child and I truly believe at Kings they do.

Our daughter really enjoys attending this nursery and is always excited to go. There's a good variety of creative activities, and she regularly comes home with artwork. We receive occasional photos and updates via the app, plus a daily log book covering activities, meals, sleep, and overall happiness, which we really value.

Choosing Kings was the absolute best decision for our family and for our little boy! We've seen the care that goes into the nursery rooms, from our initial visit and it continued into the settling in sessions, the first period in Ruby and then, now in Saphire. The staff are fantastic, the facilities are great, but the activities are absolutely amazing! As parents, we see the effort that goes into the daily activites, we appreciate so much the care for each individual child, the one on one time, the learning process and how fun nursery is for our little boy! We also appreciate the communication with the parents, the food is fantastic, absolutely nothing to fault! We also love the security of the facility, it's incredible to feel at peace, knowing your child is safe and so well taken care of. Thank you Kings!

The space itself is great, lots of space to run around and great interactive toys and play areas. We had a few choices of where he could go to nursery and I'm so pleased that we chose this nursery, we feel very lucky for the care and development we know he is getting there and know that he is incredibly well looked after and safe.

Both our children have attended Colchester Prep and High School Nursery and we recommend it to everyone we know! Since our eldest started in 2024 we have been so impressed by the care and expertise of the staff in ensuring our girls felt comfortable and supported. We had no hesitation in sending in our youngest as soon as she turned 2, both girls have thrived here. Compared to other settings we have experienced the staff are all highly experienced and conscientious to ensure that the children are not only cared for, and provided with safe playing and learning environments, but stimulated with excellent learning activities, ranging from dance, PE and outdoor exploration in Forest School, through to Phonics, handwriting and learning languages and culture. Our eldest was extremely well prepared for starting school and still loves to come back to visit the staff. Excellent site and resources. Couldn't be happier!

Communication is excellent, the environment is welcoming, and the staff are truly passionate.

The nursery at Colchester Prep & High School is such a gem! The children grow and learn in a brilliant environment with fantastic teaching and care. As they are part of an all through school they also have access to specialist teaching which is incredible.

Above all else, Gracie really enjoyed herself. It's also a massive reassurance that we could trust she was safe too.

This nursery is truly exceptional. The staff are incredibly kind natured, experienced and genuinely care about every child's wellbeing and development, from the moment you walk in you can feel how safe, cosy and welcoming the environment is. The staff go above and beyond to create a warm, nurturing space where children feel happy secure and confident to lean and grow. Communication with parents is excellent. I couldn't recommend this nursery highly enough.

We have had an excellent experience with this nursery. It is calm, organised and nurturing, with staff who clearly know each child well. The curriculum is impressively broad, including PE, forest school, ICT and French, even for toddlers, and it is delivered in a way that feels natural and engaging. My youngest has started the nursery from this term and he is the happiest. He is learning new things every day. The school staff and administration is very cooperative. Iam associated with the school for the last 10 years now and this has been a very pleasant journey.
