The team are wonderful and caring and I know my daughter is in safe hands with fun activities both in and out of the nursery. The team communicate well and it's lovely to see how happy my daughter is to go into nursery each day

Little Years is a wonderful nursery with attentive and caring staff. They take care to update parents with any developmental progress they're noticing or worries they might have. Our child's independence and social skills have come on in leaps and bounds, no doubt down in part to the safe and happy
environment they create at the nursery. The menu at mealtimes is always varied and nutritious and I especially value the importance they put on messy and sensory play. The enrollment and onboarding was also easy and stress free, and the office staff are always kind and helpful with any query we might have. I recommend Little Years to all parents I meet in the local area.

My child is very settled at the nursery. We joined in September after he was unable to settle in another setting. After this experience it has been so wonderful to feel that the staff know my son and enjoy spending time with him. He enjoys nusery and loves his keyworker. He sometimes struggles at drop
off but he settles quickly and I get photo of him when hes settled if its been a tricky drop off. All the staff are approachble and knowlegedge and seem to know all of the children well, although sadly there has been a few staff leave to move on to other things recently. My son always comes home happy and messy (the sign of an excellent day!!) and sometimes doesn't want to leave. He is thriving in their care and we are very greatful.
Reply from Natalie Bishop, Managing Director at Little Years Nursery AcombThat you so much for such a lovely review. I absolutely agree mucky clothes is a sign of a great day. x

Our child (2yo) has attended LYN Helmsley for nearly a year now, in this time the setting feels to have undergone a real transformation with interaction full of warmth!
It's a pleasure seeing our little girl grow in confidence and we know all of the team play a huge part in that.
All of the staff
are fantastic but I would give a shout out to Lucia who seems to go above and beyond with our daughter even though not her key worker!

My child has been attending Little Years for 10 months now and is very happy there. The communication from nursery is good. They make a lot of effort to get out and about with the children and do a range of activities to support their development. I feel staff listen to me and get to know my child well.

My 2 year old boy has been at Little Years Nursery for a just over a year now and he is very happy there. Most mornings he runs in with a smile on his face to hug the staff, barely saying goodbye to me, which is very reassuring. The nursery provide updates via an app throughout the day, logging his
meals, naps and nappy changes, and on pick up one of the staff is always available to spend a few minutes telling me how he's been that day.

When my child first start at the nursery it was great so welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately only a few months in cracks started to show. Very poor to no communication at all. My final straw was when I was lied to by a member of management and they tried to hold off having a meeting with me as they
were expecting ofsted. Rather than just saying they couldn't currently get 3 members of staff together I ended up having a meeting with one after I sent an email in. Things never improved. Only a couple of members of staff cared but I know they are no longer there. Seemed a really nice nursery but with lack to no communication and they didn't seemed bothered so pulled my child out and is now thriving in another setting. They were always short staffed too and had agency staff in. This is just my personal experience, but not somewhere I would recommend!

Our baby started at Little Years in Acomb after we removed her from her previous setting.
As a mother with disabilities and chronic health conditions, it was important for me to find a family-centred provision where integrity, understanding, and collaboration were key values.
Initially sceptical
due to past experiences, I was reassured when my baby bonded immediately with her keyworker. Seeing her reach out for a hug at their first meeting put my mind at rest.
Since then, she has continued to thrive and comes home happy, wriggling and giggling. The manager is friendly, non-judgemental, and is a credit to the nursery.
Little Years is a wonderful setting, and though no nursery is perfect, they take accountability and remedy any issues promptly. This builds trust, positive relationships, and a sense of belonging.
I would recommend Little Years and look forward to my baby staying with them until she transitions to primary school. Thank you to the team for everything you do for us.

My child has been coming to Little Years Helmsley Nursery since he was 6 months old. He will be 3 in March. There's been a few different changes in staff along the way, as there are in many working environments.
However, he has always been happy with each member of staff and I've always been confident
in leaving him with them.
We're both particularly confident and extremely comfortable with the team which we have at the moment. I can leave him knowing 100% that he will be very well looked after. Whether it's with exciting and fun activities or love and cuddles if needed. The team do seem to understand he's needs likes /dislikes, which is very comforting to see.
Its fun to hear from both my son and the team about the relationship which they have.
Thank you to the team for all you do with him.

Little Years has been a haven for my child with special needs. Being turned away elsewhere due to his gastrostomy feedings, they embraced my son with open arms, offering empathy for our journey and excitement for his inclusion. The settling process, with its challenges like vomiting when upset, took
over two months, but the staff's unwavering support and positive attitude made all the difference. I never once felt judged, only encouraged by their big smiles and willingness to try again each day. I feel safe leaving him in their caring hands, knowing he's nurtured wholly. The nursery is clean, and the food is so fantastic that my child with severe food aversion has even started eating by mouth! As an anxious mum with past negative experiences, I initially struggled to trust any nursery setting. However, Little Years' dedication and understanding helped me gradually build that trust. They were also patient with my endless questions. I wholeheartedly recommend Little Years.

Little Years Nursery is such a lovely nursery, my daughter thoroughly enjoys her time there and is always happy to go! I love how the nursery is smaller in comparison to others as it has more of a homely environment and the children don’t get overwhelmed. The staff are lovely and I know my daughter
has bonded well with them, you can tell that they genuinely care about them and really want to help them learn as they always have different activities for them and I always look forward to hearing what they have done in the day! My daughter goes one full day a week and has all her food there, the food timetable has so much variety which is brilliant because some things she won’t have a chance to eat at home. Overall, a fantastic environment and can’t praise the staff enough for what they do.

My child has been attending the nursery since April 2023, he was given plenty of time to settle in when he first started and the staff took the time to get to know him well. Almost a year later he is happy to go in, knows his caregivers well and comes home with a smile. The nursery offers a range of
activities both within the nursery and in the local community. There is variety in the meals offered and he never comes home hungry! The nursery is small which creates a homely atmosphere. The children are looked after but also learn the importance of looking after each other too. I feel that the staff know my little boy and have a genuine affection for him and him for them. The nursery environment is always been worked upon and the improvements are evident from opening last year.

My grandson has recently started Little Years Nursery. It is normal to be apprehensive when a 2-year-old starts nursery but in our case, our grandson has significant additional needs. The manager has embraced the challenges of caring for our grandson and now, after only a few weeks, we are much less
anxious as we leave the nursery! The manager has already completed training on caring for our grandson’s peg feed, including the ability to give him his medication safely. Overall, the nursery is extremely friendly and accommodating and we feel that my daughter made the right decision when choosing this nursery for our very special little grandson.

Mr daughter has been going to this nursery for a number of months now and thoroughly enjoys herself every day. She has fun, but always learns new things every day. She’s made some great friends with the other children along with great bonds with some of the teachers there. She’s proud as punch to bring
paintings and artwork home to show us and enjoys explaining her days. Great team, very well run and managed. Thanks LYN KMS.

My son joined Little Years Nursery in Acomb in February 2024 and we are extremely happy with the service. My son is calm and happy at drop-off and pick-up times; he enjoys the food and the activities provided and all adults seem super sweet with him and other children. What I like the most about Little
Years is the chilled environment. It's peaceful, clean and a great place to play and learn.
