The staff are all lovely, we get regular updates with photos and videos on the app and a quick catch up on the day when we pick him up. The team provide a lot of guidance to make sure that we are prepared for the weather, with a kit list and recommendations for what he should be wearing. I feel confident that he is warm and comfortable all day even through the winter.
One downside is that he is perfectly happy to go and play outside whatever the weather - which I am not always so keen on!

The team are fantastic at keeping the children engaged all day with a wide range of outdoor activities. I'm always impressed by how much my son learns while having so much fun! They do an excellent job teaching the children boundaries and respect for nature, while still allowing them the freedom to play, imagine, and discover.

It's such a joy to see how much confidence and independence my son has gained since joining. We feel very lucky to have found such a special place - I couldn't recommend this forest school highly enough!

it's a struggle to get our son to leave at pick-up time, likely because of the energy and enthusiasm of all the team. We have a great relationship with all the teachers, who remain relentlessly positive come rain, wind, snow or shine, and have made it their mission to make our son as comfortable as possible. We've noticed a significant change in his demeanour, confidence and speech since he started and couldn't recommend Outdoor Owls more highly

about the wellbeing and development of the children. He is learning real life skills in the outdoors which is building his confidence. It is really noticeable how much the staff care about the children here when compared to the previous nursery he attended. He is always so happy there and I am so glad we decided on enrolling him into Outdoor Owls!

It has such a positive impact on their happiness too and the weather doesn't bother our son one bit! The site is well set up, the staff are great and so invested in the children's well-being and development. I would highly recommend to anyone considering a move to a forest nursery. Our son hardly ever gets ill too. Huge bonus!

The staff are experienced, very dedicated, professional and caring.
This kind of setting demands that the staff have a vested interest in forest school fundamentals and the outdoor philosophy.
There are clear expectations of behaviour and the daily rules to keep them safe and the children self police.
If you are worried about the weather, don't, all the kids love it, with the added bonus that if the weather is bad of a weekend you can stay inside and even watch tv and not feel guilty as they've been out all week!
Plus all the food is wholesome vegetarian, nothing ultra processed.
The only thing I'd like is for them to open an infant school next!

The setting doesn't prevent the staff from teaching the children what they need to know to prepare for school, including working together in groups, raising theirs hands, starting to explore language and maths concepts, etc all enabled by the outdoor classroom. I always found that the children seemed content, stimulated and happy when I visited Outdoor Owls and I never wanted to leave to go to work! Thank goodness there are holiday camps so my son can continue playing in the woods on his school breaks.
