Day Nurseries Owned by Children First in London

My son has attended Queen's Preschool for the last 18 months and he has THRIVED. The staff are AMAZING - they look after the kids like their own and put so much care into the activities they plan for them. My son's confidence and ability has grown in leaps and bounds. He is now ready to go to school with a knowledge of all the basic phonic sounds, able to read stage 1 and some stage 2 books and with some very strong friendships. Choosing Queens Preschool was probably one of the best parenting decisions I have made! We will be very sad to leave this summer.

My little one has been at the nursery since September 2024 and has bonded well with all her key workers in the settings as she has progressed through the rooms. The staff's care and love is unmatched and the activities provided cater to their interests and their learning development. My daughter has thrived in the environment and her confidence has bloomed and more recently her friendships have developed. She loves the outside space and thrives physically with the fantastic resources they have available including climbing opportunities, working on her independence and creating memories with her friends. She always has stories about her day and her loved adults. All in all, this setting has been perfect in allowing my child to thrive, feel safe and be happy.

We have a 4 year old boy and 1.5 year old girl both have been at Independent Place from 11 months old. We couldn't have better things to say about this nursery. The incredible staff are the highlight, we've had such high level and consistency in care from the start. We feel our children are incredibly safe and nurtured in this environment. The building and gardens are also brilliant and the range of activities keeps our little ones entertained every day. Special focus on support for learning to read and write is incredible. They also understand specific children's interests and build activities around them. Our kids love the food too which is healthy and varied so exciting. We'll be sad for Luca to leave for school but he will do so with such a great base provided by Independent Place. Special shout out to Carine but all of the staff are incredible.

Exceptional nursery! The best nursery in Hackney and probably the best nursery in East London. We could not make a better choice. The staff is fully engaged with the children and they come home with new improvements every day.

The communication is fantastic with the staff, giving a verbal report at the end of everyday. The food is all made in house, which was also a great highlight for our son! We have nothing but fond memories of the time he spent at Independent Place & are super greatful to the staff for the part they played in shaping his first years

Queens has been the perfect environment in getting our children ready for school, and we can't recommend it highly enough

The team provide consistent and regular updates and there is a genuine community that has developed with the families which we were immediately welcomed into. Very happy with the care provided and could not recommend highly enough!

Our daughter has been at The Independent Place Nursery since she was 9 months old, and after half a year we couldn't be happier. From day one, the staff have been warm, caring, and genuinely invested in her wellbeing. She lights up when she sees her key workers, which has made it so much easier for us to be apart from her. The environment is engaging and stimulating, with varied activities that help her learn and grow. Regular events involving parents are a lovely touch, helping us feel part of the community. Communication is excellent, and we always feel informed about her day, progress, and those little moments that mean so much. The nursery has a real family feel, where every child is valued as an individual. We feel so lucky to have found a place where our daughter is happy, confident, and thriving

We sent our son to independent place when he was a year old and he is just about to graduate, as well as our younger daughter. The staff are warm, caring and creative, there is a really varied programme of activities and it communication was always reliable. Both our children have loved being there, I would highly recommend

Queen's Nursery / Preschool looked after both our girls over a period of 4 years and we are extremely grateful for the care that all the teachers provided.

The teachers took great care of the girls and the girls always had very fond comments and memories of their time in preschool.

My daughter has been going to queens group since turning 1 and she is now 4. My son had joined about a year back, being just under 1. They love going there, and are always excited with the amount of activities that they have going and the love and care they receive is nothing short than exceptional ! Both my husband and I can drop our babies off knowing they are being taken care of and supported extensively. The app is also updated regularly to show what they are doing, how they have been eating etc which gives us a peace of mind. My daughter is also supported with her reading and writing skills and has been loving doing her practices with her teacher. I definitely cannot recommend Queens Nursery enough.

My son has been going to queens pre school since he was 1 years old, and is now 4 and a half. I've always been thoroughly satisfied with the standard of care given at the nursery, as well as the wide variety of activities that they set up daily for the children. My son eats so well at the nursery too with the menu provided, which they ensure that they consult parents on what they would like to see the children eating. He has definitely benefited positively from being amongst a group of his peers and it has prepared him so well to start school this year. Couldn't recommend the nursery more.

As parents of twin daughters, finding the right nursery was one of the most important decisions we've made - and we couldn't be happier with our choice. From the very beginning, this nursery has provided nothing but excellent care in a warm, loving, and nurturing environment.

The staff are truly outstanding. Each and every team member is caring, attentive, and genuinely invested in the children's well-being and development. We feel completely confident leaving our daughters in their care every day. They are reliable, responsible, and consistently go above and beyond to make sure each child feels safe, happy, and valued.

What has meant the most to us is how supportive the nursery has been through each stage of our girls' growth - from helping with the transition into group care, to encouraging independence, to supporting their emotional and social development. We're not just dropping them off each day - we're entrusting them to a team that genuinely partners with us as parents.

The app used gives us great ease in knowing what has been going on during my children's day. Activities keep the children engaged.

Our two sons have been going to Queens Nursery since they were 9 months old. We are very happy with the care they receive. All the staff are very nurturing and loving towards them. The activities allowed them to develop in all aspects and to learn so many things. I love that they often take the children out for some excursions to discover and be part of the community. It's an excellent nursery.

I have been sending my children to Queens Nursery for a total of 8 years now, and I can't recommend it highly enough. My youngest will be starting school in September and I will be extremely sad to no longer have Queens in my daily life. The staff are truly fantastic: so warm, friendly, fun and down to earth, and they put so much care and attention into helping to raise your children. The activities, learning, food, local excursions, and specialist teacher sessions they run for the children are top class. The engagement with the local community (forest, library, care home, tube station, shopping centre, cafes) is also very special. They go above and beyond to involve parents and family members and I have felt included in my children's journeys throughout (and have made some close friends of my own too!). Both my children have had wonderfully enriching experiences at Queens and remember their teachers and the friendships they made there with incredible warmth. Thank you Queens Nursery.

Queens Preschool is a fantastic nursery and well deserving of its recent Ofsted rating of excellent/outstanding. The variety of activities and engagement for my son are amazing and I really feel he is in the right place to excel in these early years. The nursery is involved in helping him get ready for school. The staff are brilliant, and I feel really safe leaving my son with them. Having experienced really bad nursing, it's amazing when you find somewhere as good as Queens.

Queens Preschool is fantastic. We have no doubt our son is in a safe, nurturing environment surrounded by staff who genuinely care. There's always something new and exciting going on for the kids - pond dipping and bug hunts in the forest, shopping trips to Waitrose, afternoons at the playground, trips to the local care home. We love how the nursery is such an important part of the community and the children are exposed to 'real life'. The school readiness programme is also excellent, as are the weekly classes, and general communication. It's just a great place!

We are very happy with our daughter's experience at Queens Preschool. It is very clear how well the team of staff work together. They care for the children with such compassion. They really get to know each child's personality. Our daughter never wants to leave at the end of the day! The team take onboard parents' suggestion so quickly and the variety of activities is brilliant, helping children nurture many skills. We know our daughter is in safe hands when she walks through the doors in the morning. It's clear to see what a welcoming, warm environment has been fostered in the pre school.
