Day Nurseries Owned by My Ohana in North Yorkshire

We couldn't be happier with MyOhana Nursery,York. As a granny, it's wonderful to see how happy, confident and settled my grandson is. The staff are caring, kind and attentive, and it's clear how much they genuinely care about the children. He has learned so much and absolutely loves going to nursery. I have complete confidence that he is safe, happy and very well looked after. I would highly recommend MyOhana to any family.

I think this time at Ohana has been absolutely essential to him developing his social skills and improving his behaviours. Rowan is a better and happier child for being there, and looking forward to seeing how he develops further in the next year.

Our son has attended this nursery since he was 12 months old and has always been incredibly happy and settled. You can genuinely tell the staff care about the children and enjoy spending their days with them. There is a lovely family feel, with staff knowing every child by name, even if they don't work directly in their room.

We've been particularly impressed by the emphasis on learning and development alongside providing a warm and caring environment. Our son has grown enormously in confidence, both personally and socially, and the staff actively work with him on important skills such as sharing, taking turns, communication and interacting with others. There is clearly a lot of thought behind the activities they provide and he is constantly learning through play.

He has allergies and the staff are excellent at ensuring he is cared for appropriately. We also appreciate the familiar staff who have known him since he was very small. Quite often he doesn't want to leave when we collect

My son has had a brilliant time at My Ohana since he started aged 9 months. He's always had a lovely connection with the staff and is very happy to go in every day. He loves the activities that are provided - including several different child-focused programs, and always eats well! We recently potty trained and everyone at My Ohana helped support our approach which made the whole process so much easier for him. Communication with parents is excellent, both through the App and at pick up and drop off. They make great use of the outside space in all weathers and are always encouraging my son in anything he is interested in.

I cannot recommend My Ohana (York) more highly.

The team are incredibly welcoming and supportive. My little boy is quite high-energy and occasionally needs a little extra suppers - but he has absolutely flourished. He loves it and always talks about his "friends" (referencing both staff and children) and genuinely enjoys going.

Our son has loved it here since the moment he walked in. Every member of staff is friendly and welcoming and he has been provided with the highest level of childcare. The activities and food are great and he has had fabulous learning opportunities. We feel it is a safe and productive learning environment in which he has thrived endlessly. Thanks to everyone and we look forward to a few more years with you .

We recently moved our daughter here from another placement - and wow - what a difference it's made already after just a few short weeks. Staff are happy, engaged and provide great updates regularly throughout the day. There's no shortage of activities and enrichment and the outdoor space is ideal for busy toddlers. We can't thank the team here enough for already making such a positive difference.

I have been very impressed with the care for my daughter here. She was settled in at an unhurried pace as suited us and the exceptionally caring staff have quickly gotten to know her well. The management have been very professional and approachable. I've enjoyed the daily updates on the app which have made leaving her a little easier.

Our daughter joined My Ohana from another setting in January 2026. The team at My Ohana have worked really hard to help her settle in and after only a small number of sessions our daughter was happy to attend nursery. She has formed strong bonds with the My Ohana team and some other children and we're kept up to date with her day to day activities through the use of the app as well as a full debrief from the My Ohana team when collecting her. Activities seem to be varied and our daughter has had some noticeable developments since attending.

Our child is thriving here - calm, confident, and happy. We're so grateful to have found such a special place. The manager & her entire team are doing a terrific job at helping to bring up the tiny tots. A five-star nursery - highly recommended!

Unfortunately, my daughter didn't have a good experience there due to the staff's stress towards the kids to keep them in their routine by shouting at them or snapping things out their hands. The app that they provide is also not practical or well update by staff.

My son loves coming to My Ohana and I am so happy with how well he's settled in. The staff are amazingly supportive and he learns so much in a safe and friendly environment. All the staff are lovely and friendly and I have no concerns with anything.

My Ohana York provide an overall excellent environment in which my child can learn, develop, and grow. There is always a wide range of activities for the children to engage in; whether that be physical - (outdoor play, dexterity, balance etc), or mental - (games, reading, recognition, etc) activities. The nursery provide a safe space for the children to socialise and learn new skills; the nursery has its own outdoor area with a range of engaging toys, play areas, and outbuildings that my child absolutely loves. The staff are all incredibly friendly, welcoming, and engaging with both the parents and the children, and we couldn't ask for more.

The Staff at My Ohana are lovely and great. I've had/have two children go to My Ohana York and both with additional needs, both with completely different personalities, abilities and needs, and they have been so great with both of them and always being there supporting them. They are quick to contact you if anything is wrong. They are easy to get into contact with and discuss anything. They are so nice and helpful. Lots of activities for the children. Seems a safe and clean environment. The children always come first. Management and all staff are fantastic. Couldn't recommend enough.

A very welcoming nursery, a place where I can leave my son with peace of mind, knowing that he will be safe and happy. My son loves going there, and I am very grateful for this time that he can enjoy with everyone.

Our child enjoys their time at nursery and certainly can't wait to get back the following day!

Absolutely amazing nursery with wonderful caring staff. The nursery senco has been wonderful, and so supportive. We as a family feel so lucky to have had her support in these early years of education.

A brilliant nursery, my 6 year old attended a few years ago and his confidence grew and staff was amazing, now my youngest son attends 2 days a week and I honestly can't thank the staff enough, my son's confidence has grown tremendously and he is now able to say some words which he couldn't do before. I've been given advice on help to support my son at home with his speech and told what works best for him in nursery. It is a fun and safe environment and my son is always happy and loves his nursery setting and staff. Big shout out to 2 staff members in particular, great women and are my son's safe space.

My little girl is in Poppies, she loves it there and I feel happy leaving her knowing she's looked after really well by the staff there. It's a lovely nursery with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere.

Our son has been at My Ohana York Nursery since he turned 1, at 3 and a half now he has loved nursery since the start. The transitions have been excellent and every age group the staff have been fabulous, getting to know him and working at his level to help him progress.
