Brinds Well team walk to London in aid of charity

Five devoted colleagues from Brinds Well Day Nursery in Chelsfield showed incredible determination to raise money for charity as they completed a 17-mile walk for YoungMinds. Giving up their weekend to take part in the challenge, colleagues; Zarah Charvetto, Nohora Landsbergen, Jaimie Clarke, Sophie Swann, Megan Cardigan and Karen Reid set off from the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Haweswater Road, before embarking on foot to The Shard by London Bridge, taking them a total of seven hours to complete. As a result of their efforts, the Brinds Well team were delighted to raise £560.00 for their ‘Charity of the Year’, YoungMinds, with donations still incoming from generous supporters. The money raised will help fund vital support and awareness and back the YoungMinds ‘Never Alone’ campaign, which utilises digital support to ensure every young person can access help quickly and easily to improve their situation. This is in addition to providing people with the resources and skills to assist loved ones facing a mental health emergency. Brinds Well Day Nursery Manager, Vanessa Watkins explained; “We are incredibly proud of our amazing team for taking on this challenge and raising such a fantastic amount for such an important cause. At Brinds Well, supporting children’s wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do, and the work that YoungMinds does to promote mental health awareness and provide support for young people is something we feel passionately about. The dedication shown by the girls reflects the caring spirit of our nursery community, and we’re so grateful to everyone who donated and cheered them on along the way.”
