There is full and part-time care. The opening hours are from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm, Monday to Friday, all year round, excluding bank holidays and the 3 days between Christmas and New Year. You will not be charged for these days.
The nursery and preschool both have gardens and enclosed outside play areas, including the use of the timber-framed outdoor classroom and on-site Forest School. Outdoor play is a key aspect of Brooksward School’s ethos overall, and the children benefit from spending time outdoors every day, whatever the weather.
The preschool team works closely with the School's Foundation Stage leaders to help develop a broad and enriching curriculum for the children – all designed to encourage curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. The termly enrichments provide the children with extracurricular activities such as Socca Tots, Music Bugs and a school trip in the year.
The caterers provide nutritionally balanced and tasty meal options. Brooksward can accommodate most dietary requirements and is confident that your children will love the food!

We couldn't be happier with this nursery. The staff are incredibly caring and friendly, and they provide a safe, nurturing environment where our child feels secure and happy. Our child always comes home smiling. Although it took him a little time to settle in, the staff were absolutely brilliant, so patient, understanding, and supportive throughout the process. Unfortunately, he was ill over Christmas and missed out on the festive fun, but when he returned in the New Year, the nursery had thoughtfully saved lots of little gifts and treats for him, which was such a lovely surprise. We would highly recommend this nursery to any parent!

Both of my kids been to this nursery. The staff had been really good and both kids loved the setting. My younger one started nursery last year and the staff in baby room were all very good. The kid had very good connection with the key person. Taking in the kids was straight forward and in the evenings we were told about the day's activities. Very good handover. Focus weeks are very beneficial where we wanted certain areas of development and the staff had been good at focussing on it. The transition for my little one from baby room to toddler's had been smooth. The staff had a very good plan of the transition and executed very well.
My kid enjoys the nursery and is a good facility.

Thank you for your feedback - we really appreciate you sharing your thoughts, and we're delighted to hear how well your child is doing with us. Regarding the concern about being charged for meals and snacks, we completely understand why this might be confusing, so thank you for raising it. Under current government guidance, the funded childcare hours only cover the care and education element. They do not include the cost of meals, snacks, nappies, or other consumables. Nurseries are allowed to charge for these "optional extras". The Department for Education also confirms that providers can charge for meals and snacks as part of a funded place, but parents must always have the option to provide their own food if they prefer.
We follow these national guidelines, which is why food appears as a separate charge on invoices. However, we are always happy to discuss any concerns or look at alternative options if needed.

My child enjoys attending preschool and loves the teachers. I appreciate the weekly updates outlining what the children have done and what is planned for the week ahead. Thank you for being so patient and supportive with my child, as it has been a long journey for us.

The team are great at communicating with us. Every day they provide a in depth description of what they have been up to. Also I feel confident as they will call us if there is any concerns.

They absolutely love it and settled in very nicely and easy. Staff have been so caring and thoughtful and loving towards our children. Absolutely love it there. I always receive a full report of what they have eaten during the day and what activities they have been doing and also photos which is great. Highly recommend!

I have had children attending this setting for the last six years and did not hesitate to continue with them once the school took control after the private company previously running it pulled out with very little notice.
Luckily there was a high level of staff retention which made the transition unnoticeable to my two and a half year old, but that also speaks volumes about how much the staff care for this nursery!
Every member of staff is approachable and accommodating especially during those occasional difficult drop offs.
Both my children enjoy going there and have a fond attachment to the staff (which includes the desire to invite them to their birthday parties)
The rooms are well equipped and there is constant rotation of activities. Especially as they now bring in football classes and a music/dance activity.
The PE lessons with the school coaches have been a great addition too and the constant forest school upgrades continue to be another jewel in the crown.
TLDR: It's great!

Both my children have been in the setting since they were 11 months old, and settled quickly. The balance of learning and fun is good, and they are happy to work with you on any areas of concern. I also like how much outdoor time they allow for the children, as the outdoor areas are good and they also enjoy forest school and PE.
