Station House Nursery & Preschool brings history to life through a warm, creative early years setting in the heart of the old railway building. Just moments from the Two Rivers Shopping Centre, the nursery blends charm and character with modern, thoughtfully designed spaces that capture children’s imaginations from the moment they arrive.

The nursery’s bright, engaging rooms reflect the energy of a busy station - full of movement, colour, and curiosity. Each space has been designed to inspire exploration, whether children are building, creating, role-playing, or discovering something new. Outside, the echoes of the station’s past shape a unique outdoor environment, offering opportunities for climbing, imaginative play, and fresh-air adventures. With a nearby park just a short stroll away, children enjoy even more chances to connect with the outdoors.

To support families, Station House offers features that keep daily routines running smoothly, including a handy buggy store and on-site parking for quick, stress-free drop-offs and pick-ups. Extended opening hours from 7:30am to 6pm provide additional flexibility for busy parents.

The nursery’s child-centred curriculum blends a range of educational philosophies, allowing staff to tailor learning experiences to each child’s interests and stage of development. Creativity and confidence-building sit at the heart of the approach.

Children enjoy freshly prepared, nutritious meals from a varied, seasonal menu. Mealtimes are seen as shared learning moments - promoting independence, social skills, and a positive relationship with food.

With its historic setting, vibrant learning spaces, and caring early years team, Station House Nursery & Preschool offers a joyful environment where children can grow, play, and discover their world.

We couldn't be happier with this nursery. We moved our son here from another setting and have never looked back: the difference has been incredible.

The staff genuinely love what they do. They're experienced, consistent and not reliant on agency staff, which creates real stability. You can tell the

company looks after them too - they're happy, motivated and it filters down to the children.

The children spend lots of time outdoors which I love and go on enriching day trips/adventures to the shops, library or park. We love the small details that prepare them for school, like encouraging independence and wiping their own plates.

Their approach to behaviour is calm and supportive while maintaining clear boundaries without focusing on the negative. Since starting, our son's behaviour has improved noticeably. He feels secure, confident and often doesn't want to leave!

The food is amazing and nutritious. He talks about his teachers with such fondness. We're so grateful we made the move!

My child is very happy here. He enjoys all the carefully thought out activities, is stimulated and challenged. They also provide outstanding nurturing and care towards him and give parents face to face updates at the end of each day - which is greatly appreciated. I recommend this nursery to all parents.
I'm so happy I found this nursery - my younger son will hopefully start soon too!

Our son started at the nursery when it opened and we have been so impressed with the quality of the communication. The app is fantastic and keeps us updated of food, sleep, nappies. The new weekly newsletter is fab and gives us a super insight into what our son does each week. The staff are all kind
and friendly and welcome everyone with a big smile.

We couldn't be happier with this nursery. From the very first day, the staff have been incredibly caring, patient, and attentive, making us feel completely at ease leaving our child in their care. The environment is always clean, safe, and welcoming, and it's clear how much thought and love goes into
everything they do.
Our child has grown so much in confidence, social skills, and learning since starting here. The activities are engaging, fun, and age-appropriate, and we're always impressed by how well the staff understand each child's individual needs and personality.
Communication with parents is excellent, and it's reassuring to know our child is not just looked after, but genuinely cared for and encouraged every single day. We are so grateful for the amazing team and would highly recommend this nursery to any parent looking for a loving, supportive, and professional childcare setting.
Reply from Lynnsey Fitzgerald, Growth Director at Station House Nursery & PreschoolThank you so much for such a thoughtful and generous review. It really means a great deal to our whole team to hear how happy you are with the nursery.

We're so pleased that you feel confident and reassured leaving your child with us. Creating a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment for every child and family is incredibly important to us, so it's wonderful to know that comes across.

It's also lovely to hear that you've seen your child grow in confidence, social skills and learning since starting with us. The team work hard to plan engaging activities and to really get to know each child as an individual, so your feedback means a lot to them.

Thank you again for your kind words and recommendation. We're so grateful to have your family as part of our nursery family.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.868)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.868) out of 10 for Station House Nursery & Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.976 for Station House Nursery & Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (82 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.976
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.892 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Station House Nursery & Preschool is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 120 number of registered child places is 24. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 24 = 0.292
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
