I believe children learn best when feeling safe and secure within their environment. Learning takes place through play, especially focused activities within their interests, engaging their imagination and expanding their knowledge of the world. Creating and extending opportunities for children through their play has always been my passion and I take great pride in supporting my team to educate our children in this way. I believe encouraging children to be confident, independent, and full of self-worth is key to giving them a firm foundation on which to build their future. I strive to ensure that communication is high quality.

I hold a Bachelor of Education Foundation Stage degree, Qualified Teacher Status and qualifications in Business Administration and Management alongside completing my Operations Management Course within childcare. I have over 20 years of experience within the childcare sector which mostly is within Early Years. I have worked in the early years sector for 21 years now, starting as a practitioner and working my way up to Nursery Manager. I hold a full level 3 qualification in early years, a level 5 in leadership and management and I am currently completing a level 4 in special educational needs.

I have a passion and commitment to providing the best quality education and care for all children, ensuring every child has the best journey in their most important formative years. I am always striving for the best and like to work closely with the staff team to ensure they have strong knowledge and understanding. I believe all children deserve the best possible start in their formative years, and I am dedicated to achieving that for all.

I am a mum of one, my daughter is 13 years old and has Autism. As a mum, I understand how important the relationship between nursery and family is. As a mum of a child with SEND, I also know and understand how important inclusion is and will always strive to ensure our nursery is as inclusive as it can be and every child fulfils their potential. Read less

I started at Monkey Puzzle Lee Park as deputy manager when we opened in September 2025 - I have gained knowledge and confidence within my role, and through hard work and dedication, I am proud to have progressed to be the manager here. I take great pride in ensuring staff help children reach their full potential through engaging experiences, amazing activities and meaningful interactions. I understand how daunting it can feel to leave your child in someone else's care, and we appreciate the trust every family places in us every single day. Early years education has been at the heart of my career for over 10 years. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education and have extensive experience in early years leadership and management. I am passionate about creating a nurturing, inspiring and inclusive nursery where every child feels safe, valued and confident to flourish. I believe the early years provide the foundation for children’s future learning, wellbeing and sense of self. My approach is child-centred, creative and values-led, with a strong focus on building secure relationships, encouraging independence and providing meaningful opportunities for children to explore, discover and develop a love of learning. Children’s safety, wellbeing and happiness are always at the heart of my practice and leadership. I am particularly passionate about creating calm, purposeful and engaging learning environments. I enjoy using natural and environmentally conscious resources, open-ended materials, Montessori-inspired approaches and practical, hands-on experiences to encourage curiosity, imagination, communication, problem-solving and independence.

I have been with Monkey Puzzle Lee Park since we opened in September 2025. What I love most about working in childcare is the way children see the world and how they interpret every experience with such curiosity, positivity, imagination, and endless enthusiasm. Every child is learning to understand their emotions, build relationships with others, and find their place in the world, and I feel privileged to be in a position to support and guide them along the way. I have always enjoyed creating handmade projects for the nursery—such as "Colour Monster" log slices, timber road ramps, and a post box—inspired by the children we work with every day and thinking about how I can incorporate their interests into fun, handmade resources.

To me, working with children is more than a job—it is an opportunity to help them become more confident, secure, and happy with every single activity, experience, and interaction! Read less
