Strong partnerships with families and a carefully planned settling-in process help children feel safe, secure, and confident from the very beginning. Government-funded childcare options are available for eligible families.
The nursery follows a blended pedagogy approach, combining elements of the Reggio Emilia and Montessori philosophies within the EYFS framework. This child-centred approach encourages independence, creativity, curiosity, and hands-on learning through meaningful play, exploration, and nurturing relationships.
At the heart of the nursery is the Abacus Ark FIRST Steps Curriculum, supporting the development of focus, independence, resilience, social understanding, and trustworthiness. Daily activities are thoughtfully planned around children’s interests, combining structured learning with opportunities for exploration, creativity, and social development while preparing children for a confident transition into school.
The nursery offers a largely all-inclusive experience designed to support busy families, with fees covering enriching learning opportunities, extracurricular activities, nappies, wipes, and essential daily care items.
All meals and snacks are provided daily. Children are offered breakfast each morning alongside two healthy snacks throughout the day. Lunch and tea are freshly prepared each day by food partners, Lune & Wild.

Fees are charged monthly over 50 weeks a year. The daily rates shown are the monthly fee converted to a daily equivalent, for a Standard Day (8am to 6:30pm). An Extended Day (7:30am to 6:30pm) is available at an additional cost. Fees include all meals and snacks, milk, formula milk, nappies and wipes. Funded hours are spread across the 50 weeks we are open: 15 hours = 11.4 hours per week and 30 hours = 22.8 hours per week. A non-refundable registration fee of £250 and a deposit of £1,000 apply. Please ask us for our full 2026 fee schedule.

Working parents of children aged 9 months to 2 years can usually claim up to 30 funded hours a week. The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery stretches funded hours across 50 weeks of the year. You've selected 30 funded hours.
This nursery applies up to 8 funded hours per day, stretched across 50 weeks of the year. With your selected funding, 22.8 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. Since the day that our child first started at Abacus Ark, we have been thrilled with the level and standard of care by all staff members. Our child had a number of sleep and dietary issues and the management and team were incredibly flexible in both separate meals for our child and getting them comfortable for naps during the day. We get regular updates via an app throughout the day of the fun activities that theyve been doing, meals and how much they ate and at drop off and collection the team take the time to let us know how our child is getting along and progressing. The nursery is immaculate with some great toys and areas for the children to play and whilst the lack of outdoor space can be viewed as a negative, we like the fact that they have to venture to a park to play rather than opening the back door onto some grotty yard.
Our child has made some great friends, loves the staff and is very happy at Abacus.

Abacus have been absolutely brilliant from the very start and we couldn't be happier with our experience. We were a little nervous with our 6 month old starting at such a young age but they have really gone above and beyond to make sure it has been as smooth as possible. The updates and communication are very well done and they do everything they can to support and align to what we're trying to do at home. The staff are all so lovely and friendly, especially his key teacher who cares so much. He is so happy and smiley at drop off, pick ups, and in all the photos, we couldn't be happier with Abacus Ark Earlsfield.
