Canopy Frogmore House is a beautiful day nursery in Watford, set within a carefully restored historic building that combines heritage with modern learning spaces. Open 51 weeks a year from 7:30am to 6:30pm, the nursery provides flexible full and half day care for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.

The nursery is divided into three age-appropriate rooms: The Burrow for babies, The Meadow for toddlers, and The Sky for preschoolers. Each has been thoughtfully designed with sensory and messy play areas, cosy corners for reading, and calm spaces for rest. Outside, large secure gardens give children the freedom to explore nature, develop physical skills, and enjoy fresh air every day.

Children enjoy freshly prepared, organic meals and snacks made on-site by the nursery chef. Fees are fully inclusive of meals and drinks, with government-funded hours and tax-free childcare supported to help families.

At the heart of the nursery is The Canopy Code, a curriculum delivered through the Early Years Foundation Stage. It nurtures children as curious explorers, confident communicators, independent learners, and inquisitive thinkers. Each child has a key person who builds strong partnerships with parents to ensure progress is celebrated and families feel supported.

With its inspiring environment, inclusive ethos, and dedicated team, Canopy Frogmore House offers families in Watford a safe, nurturing, and imaginative setting where every child can flourish.

We love everything about Frogmore House Nursery in Watford. When we first moved to the area, we spent a whole year searching for the right nursery. Most places were either full or lacked a clear educational approach. Then we found Frogmore House and were instantly impressed by the professionalism, care,
and warmth of the staff. Their philosophy of connecting children with nature and providing wholesome, nutritious food truly supports the children's bodies, minds, and wellbeing. The team went above and beyond to help our daughter settle in quickly, accommodate her food intolerances, and support her milestones. She now wakes up excited every nursery day, knowing she'll have a fun, engaging time with her friends. We couldn't be happier! I highly recommend it to all parents.

The staff at Canopy Frogmore are warm, attentive, and incredibly dedicated to the well-being of each child. It is clear that they genuinely love what they do, and it reflects in the happy and thriving environment they create. My daughter has formed strong bonds with her teachers, and I have complete
confidence in their ability to support her development.
One of the standout features for me as a parent is the amazing app that the nursery uses. It keeps me updated throughout the day with photos and notes about my daughter's activities and progress. It's such a joy to know what she's learning. This app has truly bridged the gap between home and nursery, allowing me to feel connected and involved even when I'm not physically there.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with our choice of nursery. Canopy Frogmore provides a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment where my daughter is flourishing.

Grateful for the amazing care and love at Canopy Daycare!
I'm beyond happy with our experience at Canopy Frogmore House! My 2 years old son settled in so quickly, and I can see such wonderful improvements - he's playing more, sleeping on his own, talking with his friends, enjoying messy play, and eating
so much better now. I also love getting the daily updates and photos of his activities - it makes my day to see him smiling, learning, and having fun. Thank you to the entire Canopy team for your love, patience, and care. You've made my little one so happy and excited to go to daycare every single day!
Warm regards,
Rajeswari(Lokesh Mom).

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.450)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.450) out of 10 for Canopy Children's Nursery Frogmore House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Canopy Children's Nursery Frogmore House is calculated as follows: ( (36 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.45 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Canopy Children's Nursery Frogmore House is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 75 number of registered child places is 15. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 15 = 0.2
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
