Our son has attended Canopy Nursery since it opened in summer 2024, and we couldn't be happier. As someone in education, I was very particular when choosing a nursery-but the team and the space instantly stood out. He started just after turning one and now asks to go even on days off! The staff are
fantastic-nurturing, attentive, and supportive of each child's individual needs. The weekly newsletter keeps us informed about learning, food menus and key dates, and we love receiving photos and daily updates at pick-up. As a full-time working parent, I feel confident that I'm always kept in the loop. Our child has grown so much-from taking his first steps to counting and using new vocabulary every day. He also has health conditions, and the team have been incredible in managing his care with professionalism and kindness. We feel so lucky to be part of such a warm, inspiring environment where children truly thrive.

My child has been attending canopy for over 12 months now. She absolutely loves it there! The staff are so kind and caring with the children. They are always taking the kids out on walks to the park or to see local wildlife. She has learnt so much and always comes out the door with a smile and running
in without so much as a bye in the mornings. I recommend canopy to all my friends searching for a nursery and will be sad when my daughters time comes to an end

Canopy in Potters Bar is a fantastic nursery run by Angie and her professional and dedicated team. I can't recommend this nursery enough and have sent both my babies here. I trust Angie and her team with everything and my babies have thrived through the attention and care that they receive here. The
food has also been a great hit as my little boy would gesture for more food and comes home happy! In fact, he's happy and excited when he arrives to the nursery and would rather stay than return home! A truly amazing nursery and I'm so glad we found them. As previously we've struggled to find a suitable nursery that showed care and the motherly nurturing touch that Angie and her team have to offer. Can't recommend Canopy enough. Truly blessed we got to send our second child here! Thank you Angie and team at Canopy!

This nursery has just been open for a short amount of time but has already a massive influence. My Child was never happy at another setting he started in summer at Canopy and he smiles everyday, never cries anymore. The ladies are all very helpful and always happy to work with the kids. A really good
team of staff.

My daughter has attended Canopy nursery since November 2024, My daughter absolutely loves her time at this nursery, and as a parent I couldn't be happier with the care and attention she receives. The staff are warm, patient and genuinely caring - they take the time to get to know each child as an individual
and always make her feel safe, happy and included.
Communication with parents is excellent; I'm always kept updated on her progress, daily activities, and any little milestones she achieves. The nursery also creates such a lovely, stimulating environment - from creative arts and messy play to outdoor fun and early learning, there's always something exciting for the children to do.
Most importantly, my daughter has grown in confidence, made lovely friendships, and looks forward to going in every morning with a big smile on her face. I feel reassured knowing she's in such a nurturing and supportive setting.
I would highly recommend this nursery to any parent.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.792)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.792) out of 10 for Canopy Children's Nursery Potters Bar is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.983 for Canopy Children's Nursery Potters Bar is calculated as follows: ( (59 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.983
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.809 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Canopy Children's Nursery Potters Bar is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 81 number of registered child places is 16.2. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 16.2 = 0.309
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Angela Roberts

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2024

I would like to introduce myself, Angie Roberts.

I have a long serving history of 10 years working within the early years sector, where I have worked as an early years practitioner, deputy manager, and now lead as Head of Early Years & Manager within my current role, at Canopy Children's Nursery in Potters Bar. I have a first-class honours degree in Early Years Education & Youth Studies, and I have undertaken an EYITT programme with EYTS and EYPS, as well as gaining a French degree.

In my reign as Manager, I am proud to say that I have achieved numerous accolades and accreditations, such as bronze, silver and gold in Healthy Early Years London, as well as being recognised as a Champion nursery in SEND Education. This has heralded greater success by gaining “Best Preschool in North London (London & South-East) for two consecutive years in my previous role before joining Canopy. At best, this conveys my passion and conviction to lead a provision of excellence.

Delivering outstanding care and education is paramount to the cause of early years and demonstrating that these years are indeed the most informative of a child’s life, where building secure relationships and learning through play are instrumental in reaching positive outcomes.

My aim at Canopy is simple: to ensure that we achieve outstanding results as a provision and create long, meaningful partnerships with parents who feel that their child is in the best possible hands from inception to departure – they will feel secure that their child has evolved, developed and maximised their true potential.
