Hassocks Day Nursery is a delightful rural day nursery nestled in the charming village of Hassocks, just a stone's throw away from the South Downs Garden Centre. This wonderful nursery boasts a spacious garden with breathtaking views of the iconic Jack and Jill windmills, creating an inspiring backdrop for outdoor play and exploration in the large well equipped garden.

I can't thank everyone at the nursery enough for the love, care, and support you've shown my little boy. From the very beginning, you've made him feel safe, happy, and comfortable, and seeing him excited to come in each day has meant so much to me.
Watching his confidence grow has been amazing, and I know that's down to the encouragement, patience, and genuine care you've given him every day. He has learned so much and has been so well prepared for starting primary school, and I couldn't be prouder of how ready he is for this next chapter.
Thank you for treating him with such kindness and for making his early years so special. I'll always be grateful for everything you've done for him, and I'll never forget the positive impact you've had on his life. You really are an incredible team.

I highly recommend Hassocks Day nursery it is a fantastic nursery the care and love the children receive is phenomenal and the setting especially the outside space in the garden is wonderful

My child has had a wonderful time at hassocks day nursery. The staff have been fantastic- understanding, empathetic and supportive throughout. Facilities are great with lots of outside time. The settling in sessions have been what sets this nursery apart from the rest in my opinion, gradual, personalised and prioritising bond. No handing over a screaming child and walking away. My child loves going to nursery and it has been such a weight off knowing how happy they are there, thank you.

Our two year old has been attending Hassocks Day Nursery for three days a week since she was 9 months old. Every day she goes in, excited to get to her porridge, and barely looks back!
The nursery staff are friendly, fun and welcoming. They come up with all sorts of creative activities; tuff trays, painting, reading. They keep to a structured routine each day, which I think makes the children feel safe and settled. Our daughter loves the extra activities such as phonics/literacy classes and has grown so much in confidence with her language especially over the last few months.
One of the best things about the nursery is the garden which has lots of space, toys to play with and amazing views up to the South Downs. We appreciate that the children are out there whether its sunny or raining (in puddle suits and wellies).
The nursery staff have been extremely supportive of early potty training too, following our chosen method and building her confidence.

We have no hesitation recommending HDN to others.

My daughter started at the Hassocks Day nursery when she was 9 months, she is now 2 years old and has loved going in to nursery everyday.
The staff are all very friendly, attentive and communication is excellent with regular daily updates.
The food menu is varied and nutritious, she always eats and sleeps well at nursery so I know she feels relaxed there.
She loves the daily activities, music dancing and lots of creative painting and water play. The outdoor play area is great too, plenty of space and outdoor toys.

I always feel confident that she's having a fun filled day, learning lots and being well looked after

I have one child in the nursery and another in the pre-school. Both had an incredibly smooth settling-in period. From the very start, they were welcomed with warmth and genuine care. They are both thriving and can't wait to go in each morning - so much so that they're disappointed when it's the weekend! Every member of staff is truly invested in the children's development and happiness. It's a real privilege to be part of such a wonderful setting.

Overall Experience
Our son started in January at 10 months and has been thriving! He's only doing 2 days, but at the end of each day he's always smiling and content- he also sleeps well so we know he's getting a good amount of stimulation through the day! Our key workers are supporting him through his weaning and we can see lots of development since he's been socialising with the other babies (he's started crawling too!)

Really happy so far and this experience has really put us at ease knowing he's safe and happy

Our son always looks forward to nursery and has the best time. There are multiple classes and the staff always make the effort to make up activities daily. They spend as much time as they can out in the garden which is great for their development. Always a pleasure to pick my son up at the end of the day from the garden.

We have been at Hassocks Day Nursery since it opened in Sept 2024, in fact we were at the nursery under the old owners. We have been so impressed with the changes and the professionalism of this new company. It seems the team are happy and they are fantastic! Our children get to enjoy a range of classes like yoga, phonics, music and dance. The garden is fantastic and gets used every day for long periods of time. Our children love going to nursery it can be hard to get them to leave.

Hassocks Day Nursery and Preschool is a really special place. We've seen our son flourish here. The staff get to know the children quickly, foster their interests, and I'm amazed at how strong the bonds are that he has formed. The staff come up with such wonderful and creative activities for the children, alongside the many peripatetic classes that come to the nursery each week.
