Chestnut Nursery at Greatfields opened in January 2025 and offers high-quality childcare and early years education for children from 3 months old. Situated within the grounds of Greatfields Primary School, this modern, purpose-built setting provides a safe, nurturing space where children can thrive.

The nursery features two thoughtfully designed classroom areas:

Jay and Wren Rooms for children aged 0–2 years

Robin Room for Pre-school children

These bright, spacious rooms are complemented by a shared garden area, all equipped with brand-new resources and learning units that promote hands-on exploration and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

At Chestnut Nursery, the team is passionate about giving every child a wonderful start to life. They understand that the early years are a critical time for growth, curiosity, and learning, and are committed to laying the foundations for future confidence, success, and achievement.

My daughter attends Chestnut Nursery at Greatfields. She has been going there for about 3 months and loves it. We have seen increase in her vocabulary, self independence and overall development. Though she has one key person, she seems to be happy with every staff members there. The staff are very professional,
caring and always give daily debriefs during pick up. Very happy with this nursery and highly recommend.

We started attending the nursery from September and the staff have been patient and helping with the settling period. We appreciate the warmth and the caring with which we were welcomed and guided so far.

I am more than happy with my experience at Chestnut Nursery.
The staff are amazing, and my daughter absolutely loves going there.

We couldn't be happier with our experience at this nursery. From day one, the staff have been warm, professional, and genuinely caring. Our child settled in quickly and has thrived in the safe, fun, and nurturing environment. The team encourages learning through play and supports development, we've

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2015

I have been working within childcare for most of my life, in many different roles. I have a CACHE Level 3 and I have an Early Childhood Studies Degree. During my degree, I was able to expand my knowledge regarding child development and was given the opportunity to do voluntary work in children’s homes in India, which is where I completed my research for my dissertation. I have been with Chestnut Nursery School since 2015, and I have worked my way up to management. I feel these opportunities have provided me with hands-on, practical skills, as well as the theoretical side, to be able to mentor and guide my team today. I also love ensuring a strong and solid parent partnership is created in order for children to achieve their full potential. I enjoy working here at Chestnut Nursery School, and I am excited to create another diverse, happy, healthy and safe environment for children as well as the team, to see them flourish.
