I am the Manager of Prenton Prep Nursery. Our nursery has a lovely village community feel and I am proud to be the manager, working closely with my team Miss Hitchman and Miss Edwards. I qualified as a Primary Teacher in 2001 with a B.Ed (Homs) (2:1) in Primary Education at Manchester Metropolitan University. I have had several years teaching experience in Private and State schools. I gained experience in Early Years before becoming an Early Years Manager. I am passionate about giving children the highest quality of care and education. I enjoy working closely with parents to ensure we meet the needs of all our families. We keep up to date with staff training, ensuring our staff have plenty of opportunity to extend their knowledge and understanding on all aspects of nursery education. In my spare time I enjoy reading, going to concerts and for walks in the local area and in Wales.
I am Miss Hitchman.
Before starting my journey at Prenton Preparatory School and Nursery I achieved a PGCE in both Early Years and Primary, with QTS and a Bachelor of Honours in Fine Art.
I have a lot of experience within nursery settings as being part of management teams including teaching, improving settings with my knowledge of child development and safety. With that in mind I keep up to date with the latest training and policies to ensure best practice and outcomes for our children.
My passion is to provide children with opportunities to express their creative flair using a cross curricular approach to learning.
I have a degree in early years childhood which I obtained at university of Chester, I have also recently completed a level two cache course in SEND.
I've worked in three different nurseries covering all ages from 0 to 5. I predominantly worked with the preschool aged children which is where I feel I thrive most and have the strongest bonds with the children. I have lots of young children within my own family so have been around small children for most of my life and this is where the love and passion to work with young children came from.
