My daughter has been at The Shirley Green Day Nursery for a year, starting in the Baby Room, moving to First Steps, and soon onto the Toddler Room. She was very clingy initially and needed a lot of support while settling in. What really stands out about this nursery is their unlimited settling-in sessions,
which made a big difference for us. Adam was patient and supportive, making the transition smooth. In the Baby Room, Mel provided consistent care, which helped my daughter feel comfortable and thanks also to Adam and Katie for their support. In First Steps, Kerry has been very attentive, making each day enjoyable for my daughter and Adam also offered great care. Overall, the staff at this nursery is great at providing a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for the children, thanks to each one of them.
Reply from Jade Martin, Nursery Manager at Shirley Green Day NurseryThank you for such a thoughtful review. We're so pleased to hear how well your daughter has progressed through each room and how supported you both felt during those early settling-in stages.

Our unlimited settling sessions are designed to help children feel secure at their own pace, so it's great to know this made such a difference for your family. Adam, Mel, Kerry and Katie will really appreciate your kind words. Thank you for recognising the whole team's care and commitment.

Amazing nursery, Daya loves it and Ella her pre school teacher! We've noticed massive development in Daya's personality and communication skills and this is in large part down to the nursery and Ella spending time to work with Daya closely on an individual basis. There are a number of activities that
the children partake in daily and the variety ensures that the children have fun and remain engaged. Ella is popular with all of the children and this is down to her caring and loving nature that means Daya feels safe and looked after. The food served is 5 star and is healthy with fruits etc and again a lot of variety. Daya has a close bond with a lot of her class mates and has really come out of her shell since starting nursery last year. A brilliant nursery and 100% the right choice.
Reply from Jade Martin, Nursery Manager at Shirley Green Day NurseryThank you so much for such a lovely review. It's wonderful to hear how much Daya enjoys her time at nursery and the strong bond she's built with Ella. Supporting each child as an individual is so important to us, so it's great to know you've seen such positive changes in her confidence and communication.

We're also pleased to hear how much she enjoys the variety of activities on offer, as well as mealtimes - keeping children engaged, well nourished and happy throughout the day really matters to us. Knowing Daya feels safe, settled and has built close friendships means a great deal to the whole team.

Thank you for choosing us and for sharing your experience.

We absolutely love my son's nursery and couldn't be happier with the care he receives. The team are all amazing and put so much love and thought into everything they do, especially all the creative activities. It's so lovely seeing how much effort goes into his days.

Claire is my son's key person

and we honestly adore her. She is so caring, kind and attentive, and it's such a comfort knowing my child is with someone who truly cares about him. Shana, Kielly and Ella are also fantastic and make the room such a warm, happy place. We feel incredibly lucky to have found such a wonderful nursery

We are so pleased we chose Shirley Green nursery - our little boy joined when he was 1 year old and has been there for a year. The staff are really helpful and friendly and he's developed a lovely bond with them. There's outdoor play every day which was important to us. The nursery send photos every
day and lots of information on naps and food. We would thoroughly recommend.

Shirley Green Day nursery has been excellent for my 2 and a half year old! Since starting nursery, we have seen that he has developed in many ways. He was rather reluctant to go during his first few times, refusing to go in and crying and it took him time to warm up, the staff have gained his trust
and he loves going now! We can see that he feels safe as he has a big smile when he sees the staff open the door and even gives hugs! He is in the toddler room and quite often, also the preschool room. The staff are excellent in both rooms, especially preschool as the staff has told us that he loves the teacher there and we can also sense that with the way she interacts with him. The staff are patient with him and helping him develop his speech and other skills which is very helpful for us at home. We look forward to seeing him progress in many ways.

My daughter has been attending Shirley Green since it opened. We did look around a few nurseries local to us but found Shirley Green to look the most promising and I am so glad we picked here! There is no guilt feeling about dropping my daughter off, she even asks if she can go on days she doesn't attended.
She runs in, hugs the staff and loves sharing her stories. Her key worker Ella goes above and beyond and even helps with challenges we find ourselves dealing with at home, she works with our daughter at Nursery to improve behaviours. A big shout out to Mel to, she was a massive part of toilet training our daughter and she mastered it in a matter of weeks, such dedication from staff - they even made a toilet chart with her favourite character on for her to bring home that was the same as the one she had in nursery. I know my daughter is going to leave Shirley Green with the confidence and skills to thrive in Primary School this year and I couldn't be more thankful.

I am really impressed with the First Steps room. Speech and language development has improved a lot and my child is always genuinely excited to go to nursery. The children are encouraged to enjoy messy play and spend time outdoors every day. It's clear that the staff create a happy and secure environment.
Overall, we're very happy with the care and attention our child receives!

My child has truly thrived in the toddler room, where the staff create a comfortable, fun, and inviting environment. He has learnt so much during his time at the nursery, and the progress in his speech, confidence, and overall development has been remarkable. This growth is something we notice daily
at home through his play, communication, and curiosity. The activities are always engaging and thoughtfully planned to support learning and development, and the positive impact of the nursery's approach is clearly reflected in everyday life at home.

The staff are consistently supportive and always willing to offer guidance and reassurance throughout parenting dilemmas. I genuinely couldn't fault this nursery or the incredible staff who care for my child. Thank you all for everything you do.

Over the past 3 months or so we've had a few teething issues, mainly down to communication (lack of, incorrect, uncooperative), due to various reasons. A shortage of staff has meant it's been a bit manic too and unsettling with different carers in every week. All that said, we really like the nursery
itself, the setup, the look and feel etc. The existing permanent carers seem really nice too (quite a few new ones starting now to fill gaps so can't comment on those yet). It was our first choice and remains so for now. We know the nursery is just a year old and there has been a lot of change recently and so we are hopeful that over the coming months, things start to settle more for us personally. Our kid seems to enjoy it there and is happy which is the main thing. We have provided 4 star ratings based on what we assume as you don't get to see the running of the nursery day to day so difficult to comment on their safe guarding etc plus still early days for us.
Reply from Denise Patton, Deputy Manager at Shirley Green Day NurseryThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're really pleased to hear that your child is happy at nursery and that you've had a positive experience with the team and environment. We acknowledge that there were some early communication hiccups regarding a billing error, and we're grateful for your patience as we've worked to resolve these. We've recently welcomed several new team members, and we're confident this will help strengthen continuity and communication going forward. We appreciate your feedback and hope your family continues to feel positive about your experience with us."

I knew this was the nursery for my daughter from the first day I saw it as the facilities were outstanding. Indoor and outdoor areas are very child friendly. The staff are amazing with my daughter as my daughter really struggled for weeks with settling in, the staff were always reassuring. Being a
first time mom the staff always put me at ease sending photo's on the app and giving me a detailed summary of her day at nursery. Also my daughter is vegetarian and they provide a good standard of variety. Now we are at the stage of potty training her, the staff have been more then willing to help.
Reply from Danielle Butler, Operations Director at Shirley Green Day NurseryThank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your experience with us. We're delighted to hear that you felt a strong connection to the nursery from your very first visit - creating an inviting and child-friendly environment is something we take great pride in.We know how emotional those early settling-in weeks can be, especially for first-time parents, so it's wonderful to hear that our team helped to reassure and support both you and your daughter. We're also really pleased that the updates through our app helped give you peace of mind during that time. It's great to know that your daughter is enjoying the variety of our vegetarian meals, and that our team is now supporting her through the next exciting stage of her development with potty training. My Son started Shirley Green at the start of this year, I have been really pleased with the nursery and the care that is provided. Staff members really helped him, and me feel at ease during his settling in period. His Key worker has been especially supportive and always keeps me updated on his progress.
The app which is used by the nursery to update parents is updated regularly and it puts me at ease seeing all the lovely things that my son gets up to throughout the day while he is at Shirley Green. All the staff are lovely, approachable and dedicated to making Shirley Green a welcoming environment for the children. I can see the progress my son has made since starting at Shirley Green which assures me that i made the best decision when i decided to send him here.

Amazing nursery and team at Shirley Green Day Nursery.
We moved our little boy here in Jan 2025 from another nursery that he attended since he was a baby, where his elder brother attended previously.
Shirley Green offered a handful of settling in sessions throughout the month of December which was
great as other nurseries offer 2 or 3 sessions. Our little boy who is 2 has grown in confidence since joining this year, his speech has developed and he is also fully potty trained within the first 6 week of being at nursery.
The nursery itself is very modern and spacious with plenty of activities for the kids to do. As for the staff, they have been super and supportive throughout. The app that the nursery use is brilliant, previously as we have used other apps to update you throughout the day, and the team provide photos throughout the day which we think is brilliant. Definitely recommended this nursery.

As a mother of two children attending this nursery-one in the toddler group and the other in the preschool group-I am extremely happy with the care and attention they receive. The staff is wonderful at recognizing each child's individual interests and using them to help them engage with others through
activities.
In the toddler group, the care and affection provided create an excellent transition from home to nursery, making it a comforting and nurturing environment. Meanwhile, in the preschool group, the daily activities and outdoor playtime encourage the children to explore, learn, and grow every day.
We are very satisfied with our experience and truly appreciate the dedication of the team!

This nursery which has become a second home for our family is exceptional. The staff are incredibly kind and caring, forming genuine bonds with the children and creating a warm, nurturing environment. Their focus on learning through play is outstanding, allowing my son to thrive in a fun, engaging way.
The nursery is beautifully designed, equipped with everything a child needs. The outdoor garden is fantastic for imaginative play, complemented by extensive rugby club grounds for active fun.
What truly sets this nursery apart is the staff's exceptional responsiveness; any queries are addressed promptly, providing peace of mind. Since my son started attending in summer 2024, he has been extremely happy, always excited about what he has learned and the friends he has made. Overall, this nursery is amazing, and I couldn't be more grateful for the wonderful experiences

Very nice staff who really looks after your kids. However senior management not so friendly .
When I sent my daughter there I saw a very nice atmosphere but when I decided to take her out due to personal reasons I was ignored, not replied to and their attitude and tone changed completely.
For me
when you leave it should be on good terms and no one has the right to make anyone feel stressed, but they did. As I paid, I had the right to ask questions and they should have called me back as promised many times but that didn't happen. However I received the invoice from the same member.
Anyway that's unfair comment to the rest of the lovely team they have.
Reply from Danielle Butler, Operations Director at Shirley Green Day NurseryThank you for sharing your feedback about Shirley Green Day Nursery. I'm truly sorry to hear that your experience didn't meet your expectations. I handled your enquiry personally and remember that we reached a mutual understanding regarding your situation. My daughter has been at Shirley Green Nursery for 3 months now and I have no complaints. The nursery itself is brand new and very nice and modern and clean with large rooms and a lovely outdoor area. Due to the nursery being less than a year old there are much smaller numbers of children in the rooms
compared to other nurseries which for me is a positive. However as the nursery grows in popularity this will change but is to be expected. The staff are all lovely and I feel that they really know the children. The app is updated regularly throughout the day and with photos most days. They also offer NHS discount which is a big help.

My child has been attending for about a month now. We can not fault the nursery or the staff.
The rooms are spacious and clean and have lots of natural items to play with, which we prefer rather than plastic.
The outdoor space is lovely and we love the fact that the children play outside in all weather,
which was really important for us, they can also use the rugby field which is great.
The app is great and updated throughout the day.
The staff are so lovely and caring, they really do listen to you about your child's needs.
The only issue for us is the menu, it's only a 2-week menu and it has a couple of the same kind of foods repeated, there are other food groups which could be included to give more variety and to be more in keeping with some of the children's traditional diets.
All the other nurseries have a 3-week menu and have more variety, so it could be implemented here.
We will see how it goes, although that is the only issue it is quite a big issue for us personally.
Reply from Denise Patton, Deputy Manager at Shirley Green Day NurseryThank you so much for your feedback! We're thrilled that you and your child are enjoying the nursery environment, outdoor play, and our caring team. It's wonderful to know that our natural play items and all-weather approach resonate with what you're looking for. We appreciate your feedback on the menu. Our two-week menu is designed to serve all nine of our nurseries, which requires thoughtful planning and consistency across locations. Balancing variety with practicality is a priority, and we're always open to suggestions. If you'd like to discuss this further, please feel free to reach out-we value open communication and are committed to providing the best experience for your family. 1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.800 for Shirley Green Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (233 Excellents x 5) + (32 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 275 Ratings = 4.8
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Shirley Green Day Nursery is based on 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 number of registered child places is 16, which has been reached with 21 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Thank you for taking the time to discover Shirley Green Day Nursery. My name is Jade Martin, and I’m the Nursery Manager here.

I began my childcare career in London, working as a nanny for families in Central London. Since relocating to Warwickshire, I have been part of Tommies Childcare for over five years. During this time, I have progressed from Nursery Practitioner to Nursery Manager at a sister nursery, before taking the opportunity to manage Shirley Green Day Nursery.

Here at Shirley Green, I am proud to be part of a warm and experienced team. Together, through strong partnerships with parents, we have created an inviting and homely environment where children feel safe, nurtured, and inspired to learn.

I would love the opportunity to share more about life at Shirley Green with you. Please feel free to arrange a visit or consultation—my door is always open.
