Our daughter has been attending Banana Moon for the last two years, and it has truly been a wonderful experience for our family. The nursery creates such a caring and friendly atmosphere, with thoughtfully planned activities and toys that are perfect for each age group.
She comes home smiling every
day, and we always look forward to hearing about the fun and happy moments she's had.
A special mention to the staff as well - they are incredibly kind, supportive, and professional, which gives us great peace of mind as parents. Highly recommend!

We have both our girls in the nursery, and our eldest has been there for 2 years. This year they have had a big change in staff, including the management. There has been a notable (positive) change at the nursery and I complete feel at ease sending my daughter's there. The staff are lovely and the girls
love going.

Banana Moon is a great nursery! The staff and management are really good now, considering the hard time they had during the Christmas period and before, but they managed to pull through very well. My daughter is very happy and enjoys every day in the nursery. The food is good, the activities they are
doing are great and very engaging! Thank you, all and well done!

My daughter loves this nursery and always comes home happy. She's currently in baby moons.
Despite some challenges the nursery has overcome them and is now better than ever!
The team are amazing and the facilities are great - she absolutely loves the garden and the arts and crafts.
Only improvement
I would suggest is more challenging activities - counting, alphabet, music and behaviour/manners lessons would be amazing for my daughter for sure!
I would highly recommend this nursery!

My daughter has been attending for over a year now. There have been a lot of changes since December, and my daughter is happier than ever being there. All the staff are attentive and welcoming, supporting her with her development. Loads of activities throughout the day and yoga! My daughter looks forward
to going every time.

I'm happy my daughter attends this nursery and recommend others to try it out.

STAY CLEAR OF THIS SO CALLED NURSERY
Alway short of staff , staff never know what and how you child has been, This nursery has not form early year's education they do not teach the basics that a child requires for primary school. They have no healthy meal options or proper meals at all my child would
come home and go through the whole fridge eating everything she could see. This nursery is HIGHLY UNSAFE AND PRESENTS EMOTIONALLY ABUSE ON KIDS BY TELLING THEM NOT TO TELL KEY INFORMATION TO THEIR OWN PARENTS( when they have been hurt) IN WAYS SUCH AS DONT TELL MUMMY AND DADDY YOU WILL MAKE THEM UPSET AND CRY as they have been doing to mine. My child would always come home with unexplained bruises all my child body. This so called nursry habe cause massive trauma to my child with which we are still trying to deal with now. PARENTS, IF YOU LOVE YOUR CHILDREN STAY AWAY FROM THIS NURSERY. ALSO OFSTED, IF YOU'RE ABLE TO SEE ALL OUR REVIEWS WE ASK YOU TO CLOSE THIS HELLHOLE OF A NURSERY DOWN
Reply from Amy Carter, Area Manager at Banana Moon Day Nursery Tunbridge WellsProviding a well-run, supportive and safe nursery environment that caters to the needs of all the children in our care is extremely important to us, and we want to ensure all parents that these points have been taken seriously and thoroughly investigated.
We did experience a temporary period where long-term sickness and wider recruitment difficulties presented staffing challenges. These issues have now been fully resolved, and we have successfully welcomed several new team members who are valuable additions to the nursery and maintain the quality, consistency and care we’re committed to providing.
The government’s early years foundation stage (EYFS) framework is embedded into our curriculum, which is thoughtfully planned to support each child’s individual learning and development. This includes ensuring children are well-prepared for their transition into primary school. We keep parents closely informed about their child’s day through our Banana Moon Parent App and daily diaries, which are used consistently to share updates, care information and key observations.
We have also reviewed our menus to ensure they are fresh, balanced meals are provided daily, ensuring children receive healthy and appropriate food options.
We’re highly concerned about the comments suggesting the nursery is unsafe or that emotional abuse has taken place. These are very serious allegations. We maintain comprehensive hazard logs, and daily room risk assessments are carried out to identify, manage and minimise potential risks. All incidents are recorded and shared with parents in line with our policies.
We have met with a member of the family to discuss these concerns in detail. Following a full investigation, we have now concluded the process and shared the outcome with the family.
We remain fully committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and high-quality environment for every child in our care.
We wish you all the best.

My daughter had been going to Banana Moon since the beginning and we were happy up until a few months ago. However the nursery has become extremely unreliable. Myself and other parents have recently taken our children out and gone to other nurseries. There have been staff shortages resulting in last
minute closures for the majority of December. I had also found out that they had been putting my daughter in nappies despite being potty trained in order to make their lives easier to manage the limited staff. None of the original team are there and the last few months there seemed to be an influx of staff leaving and the nursery have officially declared staff shortage issues. We were promised a new manager in January who is no longer joining. The nursery has gone downhill and I would not recommend this nursery.
Reply from Amy Carter, Area Manager at Banana Moon Day Nursery Tunbridge WellsWe’re very sorry to hear this and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. Providing a well-run, supportive nursery environment that caters to the needs of all the children in our care is extremely important to us.
Regarding the closures in December, these measures were implemented to ensure we always remain fully compliant with the required adult-to-child ratios and to ensure adequate supervision. We also experienced a temporary closure due to local water supply issues, which affected many businesses in the area. Unfortunately, this resulted in no running water on site, making it unsafe for us to operate. The decision to close was made to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of the children and staff. We would also like to apologise for the miscommunication that resulted in a nappy being used during sleep time – all new team members have now been fully briefed on individual care requirements.
It’s important to us that we appoint the right candidate as Nursery Manager to further strengthen our leadership team, and we are optimistic about appointing someone in the near future.
We’re glad to hear that your time with us has mostly been positive. Once again, we apologise that your more recent experience did not meet your expectations. We wish you all the best.

Not impressed with this nursery at all. It's shameful how poorly its run. My daughter currently still attends this place and we considering other alternatives. First about the first term(year) of her being there they never told us that was days that are cheaper or free days for those with low income
instead for nearly a whole year they charged us £180 a month after us saying we don't think they could afford the increase they later then told us about Wednesday and Fridays being free days. Why on earth this is something your not telling parents beforehand is outrageous. But then again its a franchise and they care more about money then your children. Then on November 19th they was closed for staff training this wouldn't normally be a problem but they told us less then 24 hours before closing. They have also denied our child coming in because of lack of staff but allowed some children in how do you decide who comes in and who doesn't. Very poorly run very expensive stay clear
Reply from Amy Carter, Area Manager at Banana Moon Day Nursery Tunbridge WellsWe're very sorry to hear this and appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns with us. Providing a well-run, supportive nursery environment is extremely important to us. We're committed to working closely with parents, and we value feedback to help maintain high standards at Banana Moon Tunbridge Wells.
Regarding the points raised about term fees, the manager who was in the post at the time is no longer with the nursery, which means we're unfortunately unable to fully clarify what was discussed previously. However, we'd welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly so we can provide clear and transparent information and ensure everything is fully explained.
In relation to recent closures, the nursery was closed for one day on 19 November due to a staff training day. This was necessary to support a number of new team members and ensure appropriate standards of care. On 21 November, the nursery closed from 1pm and no children remained on site.
We also understand your concerns regarding staffing levels. We'd like to clarify that during a particularly challenging period, some parents were asked whether they could voluntarily reduce sessions to help us manage staffing capacity. Participation was entirely optional, and no child was prioritised over another. That said, we'd appreciate the opportunity to discuss your specific experience further so we can fully understand and address your concerns.
We remain fully committed to providing a safe, reliable and nurturing environment for all our families and would welcome the chance to talk this through with you at a time that suits you.

The staff at Banana moon are always welcoming to both my child and us as a family. There's never a day that my little one doesn't come home, smiling.
The team are really brilliant at building relationships with the children, as well as always discussing what's been done that day, what the children
have been up, eaten and the interactions they have.
I really enjoy receiving the updates about the day with pictures, so I can see what my little one gets up to.
The rooms are filled with lots of toys and engaging activities for them to do. And they go out into the garden almost daily, which my child loves. I like that the children get time to socially engage with their own age group, but also those in other rooms, building on those crucial skills of multi interaction levels.

There's a feeling of calm and complete acceptance in Banana Moon. No matter how hectic the morning might have been, I walk into that nursery like to a temple. Everyone is kind, down to earth and efficient. Definitely the strongest point of this marvellous setting is their staff. They've supported us
through the first childcare experience for our youngest, sleep training challenges, weaning, potty training - all with a smile and constant reassurance, as well as professional knowledge.
The app is good, you can see at a glimpse how the day has been and what might need attention later. Nutrition is also taken care of with home cooked meals. There's an outside space with good air.
Finally, there's ample parking, flexible sessions, and good value for money. Thanks, Banana Moon, you've been the perfect match!

My son joined Banana Moon Day Nursery in April 2024 and has settled in so nicely to this warm and happy setting with the help of all the staff there. They go above and beyond to make my little boy feel safe and secure. The communication is great as I am updated throughout the day with his activities
and pictures and a staff member will promptly respond to any query I have. My son loves the activities on offer, they are developmentally appropriate and engaging and he has learned so much through them already. He is always happy when I pick him up. Couldn't recommend this nursery more!

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.404 for Banana Moon Day Nursery Tunbridge Wells is calculated as follows: ( (215 Excellents x 5) + (42 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (25 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 297 Ratings = 4.404
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Banana Moon Day Nursery Tunbridge Wells is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months.
