Located within the beautiful grounds of Bishop Wilson Primary School in Burton, S4YC at Bishop Wilson is a warm and welcoming environment for little ones. The preschool welcomes children from 9 months to 4 years, providing high-quality early years education in a safe, inspiring space. A close partnership with the primary school ensures a smooth and confident transition into Reception when the time comes.

Children can enjoy spacious outdoor learning areas designed to encourage imagination and active discovery. From exploring the changing seasons to exciting bug hunts, outdoor learning is a key part of the daily routine – sparking curiosity and fostering a love of nature.

Inside, the preschool room is a hive of colour and creativity, proudly showcasing children’s artwork, creations, and milestones. Thoughtfully designed learning areas cover all seven aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, supporting children to independently explore, play, and learn at their own pace.

The preschool’s experienced team plans a rich mix of activities based on children’s interests, helping to extend their ideas through both play and focused group time. Staff build strong relationships with parents and carers, maintaining regular communication to share updates on each child’s development.

The preschool is open Monday to Friday, 08:45 – 15:15, with wraparound care available before school from 07:45 – 08:45 and after school from 15:15 – 18:00. The setting also hosts exciting holiday and sports clubs during school breaks for children aged 2–11 years, all held on-site.

I completely recommend this preschool. Both of my girls have been here and they have never once said they don't want to go in the morning - they really enjoy it. It's also lovely that it's so close to home, meaning they're making local friends and already starting to engage with the school community.
My eldest's transition to reception at Bishop Wilson was seamless thanks to having attended the preschool there.


The staff are amazing - they genuinely care about the children - and the facilities are excellent, very clean, and well looked after. Being a smaller setting also means we've found the children pick up far fewer illnesses compared with our experience at Busy Bees.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you!!!! To Allison, Marianna, and the rest of the S4YC Nursery team.


Its always so lovely so see how excited and proud my daughters key workers are when she learns new skills, or even the excitement when I drop her off for the day.


My normally clingy toddler is

more than happy to leave me at the gate and doesn't look back, which is a testament to how well cared for and how much fun she has at nursery.


When I dropped her off this week (dad usually does the drop offs), she was so excited to see Marianna come to the gate and she stomped her little feet in excitement.


We are so glad we chose you, and you us, for our daughter to grow and learn with you all.


It's been very difficult to leave her with anyone; especially for me, so to see how well she is thriving, clearly how well looked after, cared for, and how excited she is to see you all each day, is a real testament to you all. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts

My son has attended Bishop Wilson Preschool since July 2024, prior to this he attended a busier nursery setting, and he never settled well. He is now excited in the morning to attend pre-school and loves his time there.
The staff are so caring and professional and have really helped my son settle,
they are very accommodating with extra sessions.
I like the fact it's a small setting, as all the staff know the children inside out.
I would recommend Bishop Wilson Pre-school to everyone!

What a lovely place. My little boy really enjoys going and gets very excited in the car on the way....!

I have not had anything but positive experiences with S4YC. They have been helpful when I've needed them and understanding when our family went through a tough time.
The only negative I would say is the cost. Compared to my friends out of school clubs it is quite expensive but I don't know if that
is because of the size of the school, with there being only a handful of children they do have to recoup the costs. But it's a lifesaver and I'm happy to pay.

My daughter started S4YC pre school in January 2023 and Bishop Wilson school in September 2023 though still regularly attends ‘breakfast club’ with the S4YC team. From the minute she joined last year, I had no worries for her. She and I both love the team, the activities they do, the care they show
and everything they taught my daughter when she was in their care full time. I genuinely can’t fault the team and the service they provide and want to say a huge thank you to them all. You’re amazing and make a working mum’s life that bit easier.

My daughter has been in nursery for nearly a year now and she has come on so much since joining. Her confidence and speech have improved massively and I can only thank her teachers for the amazing work they do with the children. I like the fact that the group is small so the children have more 1-1 time
with their teachers. They have lots of activities to get involved in and the facilities are great for their age group.
