Blossoms Day Nursery is a purpose-built setting, based within the village of Burn, providing childcare for children aged 0-5 years old.

The nursery operates from four rooms; a baby room, an infant room, a toddler room and a pre-school room. Each room consists of pathways for children to browse their environment at their own leisure. Rooms are carefully designed to ensure that when a child is browsing their environment, they are still learning within every area of the room.

The nursery adopt the Reggio Emilia approach in their practice. The Reggio Emilia belief is that all children are capable, creative and intelligent. At Blossoms, practitioners work with the child as an active collaborator, both adult and child learning together. They encourage children to investigate and explore their own questions, theories and ideas about what is happening in the world around them. They support their investigations into these questions through creativity, allowing children to lead and develop their own pieces of work.

Blossoms Day Nursery promote learning outdoors as it develops the children’s relationship with nature, and also include resources that are as natural as possible for learning whilst indoors. The children are supported in their creative ideas, and they believe no idea is wrong. Staff study and learn from the children and extend their ideas to see where it leads.

Staff have been so attentive and tailored in their approach to our daughter. Their daily updates have been a valuable source of comfort to us as first time parents and we love how the building and outside play areas are kept to a high standard. We definitely made the right choice.

All of the staff members are very polite and work in a person centered way with my daughter. I feel that I can speak to any staff member for advice and get the right advice.
Blossoms always have a good range of activities and my daughter loves going to nursery, especially seeing jade in babies! We
are so grateful that jade is her keyworker as she is such a caring/kind person. Blossoms is lucky to have a staff member like Jade.

Blossoms is Brilliant!
My little girl started in the baby room and loved it, she moved into infants and thrived. She has come on so much! She is now readying to move into Toddler Room and I know she is going to learn so much!
All the staff are lovely, welcoming and kind.
They show true care and
affection for my daughter and know her so well on an individual bases.
I viewed once other nursery when I was looking for a place for my daughter. As soon as I saw Blossoms I knew I didn't need to see another.... I still went to the second viewing and it solidified eveything I had in my head and heart about Blossosms. Still to this day tak about how we are so glad we picked Blossoms!
Thank you for all you do guys!

Lovely nursery. Our 1 year old daughter started in September 2025 and settled in quickly. She loves the staff and activities and the menu always sounds lovely- she eats everything! They have also been excellent at catering for her allergies and her meals are always adapted versions of what the other
children are having so she doesn't feel left out.

Everyone is so lovely. My baby started in the new year and by February, he was settled in and comfortable with all the staff, reaching out towards them at drop off.
They cater for his dietary requirements with no issues.
I also love how they update the app throughout the day so I can see what he's
been up to, what he's eaten and whenever he has had a nappy change. Very useful app.

There's a reason this nursery is the best in the area, the staff are absolutely brilliant and the environment is fun, safe and educational. My daughter is only 17 months old and has a vocabulary and over 250 words, which I put down to her key workers engaging and playing with her in a fun and interactive
way. I'm so pleased and her development!

My son has been at blossoms for almost 2 years and we're really happy he's there. Our daughter will be starting in September too.
The baby room is warm and welcoming, whilst offering parents and children lots of support during a really big change.
As they progress to other rooms they make sure they
have a wide range of activities which seem carefully thought out for development, as well as engaged the children with current events (e.g. ocean week).
The nursery have also built a lovely community which makes parents feel involved. This year they've organised mothers and Father's Day stay and play sessions which have been lovely.
Finally, whenever we've had any concerns or wanted support with our child's development (e.g. potty training, speech), they've been super supportive, responding to queries really quickly, and always offering face to face meetings, even if it's just to offer us some reassurance. We'd definitely recommend blossoms!

Blossoms nursery is amazing my little girl has been going since she turned one. And has come on leaps and bounds in the last year. She is a very forward outgoing confident little girl and the nursery do an amazing job of managing her energy. The daily communication through the app is also really helpful.
It helps to understand what she has been up to but also catch things if something doesn't seem right. You can contact the room on the app for any questions in the day again a really good tool. On collection feedback from the room of what she has been up to helps encourage conversation in the car on our way. She looks forward to going every morning she attends.

My baby started at Blossoms nursery just before his first birthday, and since then his confidence around others, including extended family, has grown immensely. He has truly flourished in their caring environment. The staff are friendly, supportive, and always willing to help. His recent transition
to the next room was smooth, thanks to well-planned settling-in sessions. The countryside setting provides a calm and beautiful space for outdoor play, and the children are offered a great variety of meals and snacks throughout the day.He really gets stuck into the activities and seems to thoroughly enjoy exploring everything available in the room. I couldn't ask for a better nursery for him to be part of.

All three of my children have or do attend Blossoms, as such I have experienced every room in Blossoms and they are all wonderful!!
From dropping off your baby for the first time to seeing your pre-schooler graduate and leave for 'big school' - it feels like every member of staff cares for and values
your child. You are greeted with a smile and all of my children have happily headed into nursery ready for a day of fun. I would not hesitate to recommend Blossoms to anyone.

My Daughter has attended since the nursery first opened in 2022 and now my younger son also attends. I can honestly not say a bad word about this wonderful nursery. The staff are amazing, the setting itself is ideal, the atmosphere is always friendly and safe, the communication is spot on, the security
is great, and most importantly the children always come out having thoroughly enjoyed their days and the progression we see in them since starting is phenomenal. If you are considering asking about a place for your child, please do go for a look around you won't regret it. Thank you Blossoms Feild View, we're so lucky to have such a great nursery setting so close for our children to attend.

An excellent chain of nursery's. Having already had one child go through all the stages it filled me with confidence sending our second child.
Very friendly staff who are easily approachable and happy to talk.
They have activities at the reception for children to take home, this is a great idea for
parents who may struggle with resources or ideas when at home.
Highly recommend nursery.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.974 for Blossoms Day Nursery - Field View is calculated as follows: ( (339 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 348 Ratings = 4.974
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Blossoms Day Nursery - Field View is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 116 number of registered child places is 23.2, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

After leaving school I went on to complete my Level 3 Childcare where I worked in this industry for a couple of years. A change in career led me down the HR route and I found a real passion for training and development.

Ten years on and after having my own child I was offered a job in HR for a group of nurseries and this combined re-ignited my passion for working with children.

One of our beliefs at Blossoms is, you can’t provide quality care if your employees don't receive quality training.

I have worked in childcare for over twelve years, working in a variety of early years settings. During this time, I completed my Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies. This experience has supported me in gaining a vast amount of knowledge and understanding of child development.

I started at Blossoms, when the first nursery opened, back in June 2018 and feel my passion for early years has grown even further during my time here. I love working with such an ambitious and dedicated team, providing high-quality and challenging learning experiences for children to ‘flourish’.
